Sharon has no memory of who she was, where she fit or even her name, until eDapktchoy calls her.   As with all provoked memories she has a reaction and puts up her hands. eDapktchoy grasps her wrists and sets off the stunner.

I became drunk on the tingle. On the celebrity. I'd done my job, done it superplus ultra. Sure there was a riot in the street and folks were gassed and smashed, tack it up to the Union Police's standard brutality and call your local news station or hire a lawyer and sue.

Yeah, the Hall was a shambles, but the concert was a success. And the fame edible.

Before the last tune plucked, Horace and I smuggled ourselves to the roof, hopped a flyer and never landed until we reached Shandel.

If the musicians survived to play again, nice. If not, we had a horde of replacements.

Horace and I matched drunk before the first drop hit a tonsil. We'd slipped Jerry, leave one paymaster, poor soul, but he'd have to find his own back door.

I don't know how it came to be Shandel, save it was the wildest squat in the Universe. Name it, get it, if you've the credits to pay.

I thought I was god. Maybe I was, at least that night.

Everyone recognised me. There were Risto fems dropping for me as if I were King. Maybe I was King.It was fair return, I'd think. Direct, more than expected. Ever.

I guess I got off that night better than I believed physically possible. That night into the following day.

The Edge of Control

THE EDGE OF CONTROL

EVJAFALK

Aboard the Zeversad

My ascendancy is deteriorating, in heartbeats they will fire upon me and I will to glory. Yet, I must endure as long as able. Dare the Shazi breach that access, dare they intercede it may be etalia before such contiguity twixt Ki-ZerShaz and his mate repeats.

Is it beyond the capacity of these ZeSha to comprehend that whatever closed the sha of the Sakari can only be, must only be, opened by Ki-ZerShaz?

These ZeSha be pathetic apologies for Aides, wiser to be denigrated to oTay status and scattered about the nealay.

Why do they maintain such incorrect appreciation of fact?

Must it be stamped upon the walls of this erssavi, branded on their eyelids, that Ki-ZerShaz is a ZeSha so inclosed within himself that he does not know how to put out his hand?

Dare it be admitted that unless he alone opens her sha he will never accept her love?

Can they not appreciate what transpires within that chamber must remain between them alone?
