The sun was setting as Amanda arrived in the small town of Arcoverde. She was there for a personal retreat, away from cameras and the noise of public life. Having spent months filming an intense series, she felt the need to breathe, to reconnect with herself.
Upon reaching the simple inn where she would stay, she found two women sitting on the porch, laughing loudly, drinking coffee from a clay mug.
“Good afternoon! — said Amanda, smiling.“Good afternoon, beautiful woman! — replied one of them, the taller one with sharp eyes. — I am Belinha, and this is my sister Amelinha.
“Nice to meet you, Amanda. — the actress introduced herself.“Amanda? — Amelinha widened her eyes. — Aren't you the famous actress who makes us cry on TV?
Amanda laughed.“it is me. But I am here to rest, you know? No spotlight.
“Oh, then you came to the right place — said Belinha. — Here, we even laugh at our own tragedies.
The three spent the afternoon talking. Amanda was surprised by the energy of the two sisters. Belinha had a sharp humor, a way of speaking that mixed sincerity and irony. Amelinha, on the other hand, was more relaxed, more sensual, a force of nature.
“Did you know that the men here in town run away from us? — said Amelinha, laughing.“Run away? — Amanda raised an eyebrow.“It is because we do not give them a break!” added Belinha. — After a scoundrel betrayed me, I decided to play with them, and my sister joined me in the fun.
Amanda remained silent for a moment.“You know… I have played women who also suffered and decided to turn the game around. But you… you seem so in control of yourselves.
