Paul D. Gilbert è nato nel 1954 e ha sempre vissuto a Londra e dintorni. È sposato da quarant’anni con Jackie, che condivide la sua grande passione per Sherlock Holmes. Ha due figli, uno dei quali fa l’agricoltore in Spagna. La gran parte della sua vita lavorativa si è svolta nel settore dell’abbigliamento, anche se ora fa l’impresario di pompe funebri. Ha una particolare predilezione per la storia antica e ama il cinema e lo sport. La sua massima ambizione è fare lo scrittore a tempo pieno perché la cosa lo appassiona molto.
