For my three little bugs.
For all who appreciate Nature.
And NO means NO!
There was once a water strider
Who wanted to taste apple cider
But his curiosity
Seen as a monstrosity
Annoyed the brotherhood
Who said in all their godhood
‘Striders that get so bizarre
Can only come from afar!’
* * *
There was a beautiful queen bumblebee
That fell on the water she didn’t see
But soon help came by
And she again could fly
That beautiful and free queen bumblebee
Chapter 1
‘Help! Help! Help me!’
The Bumblebee screamed and struggled to detach its wings from the water, swirling incessantly on its poisonous stinger. But the struggle was useless! There, in the middle of the pond, with nothing to grab onto and lift herself out of the water, she was doomed. It was only a matter of seconds before she ended up satiating the appetite of a fish, a bird or some opportunistic water striders.
‘Help! Help! Help me!’
That distressed voice penetrated the Water Strider's ears like a scalding needle and the frantic vibration of the water unsettled his feet. Swift and vigorous, the Water Strider glided on the water and, although he could not fly yet, he managed to reach the Bumblebee before everyone else. He energetically got underneath her and lifted her out of the water with all his might.
