Jonny the car looked at himself in the shop window. How handsome he was! And what speed – he could beat even race cars!

Auto Jonny se pogledao u izlogu. Kako je lijep bio! I kakve brzine - mogao je pobijediti čak i trkaće automobile!

“I’m the pride of the neighborhood,” he yelled.

„Ja sam ponos susjedstva”, vikao je.

Just then, two braking sounds broke his daydream.

Upravo tada, dva zvuka kočenja razbila su mu sanjarenje.

There were his friends: Mike the bike and Scott the scooter.

Tu su bili njegovi prijatelji: bicikl Mike i skuter Scott.

“Hey Jonny!” his friends said. “What’s up?”

„Hej, Jonny! ” rekli su njegovi prijatelji. „Što ima?"

“Feeling like a little race today,” said Jonny, puffing his tires. “But there’s no one I can race with.”

„Osjećam se kao mala utrka danas”, rekao je Jonny, napuhujući gume. „Ali nema nikoga s kim se mogu utrkivati. ”

“We can race with you!” said Mike with excitement.

„Možemo se mi utrkivati s tobom! ” rekao je Mike s uzbuđenjem.

“That’s what friends are for!” added Scott.

„Tome služe prijatelji!" dodao je Scott.

Jonny didn’t show much enthusiasm. “Mmm... A champion needs an equal to compete with.”

Jonny nije pokazivao puno entuzijazma. „Mmmm... Šampionu treba jednak za natjecanje.”
