INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

A wise man once said; ‘’True happiness involves the full use of one’s power and talents.’’

After thoroughly reading Jesus Christ’s Parable of the Talents in Matthew chapter 25 verses 14 to 30, it is very easy to see how successful the first and the second servants were after they had invested their talents.

‘’For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several abilities; and straightway took his journey.

Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same and made them other five talents.

And likewise, he that had received two, he also gained other two.

But he that had received one went and digged in the earth and hid his lord's money.

After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’’ Matthew 25:14-30

Their wise decision is one that is highly commendable. The last servant who refused to invest his talent was, however, rebuked by his master.

If this parable was an actual event that took place in our modern time, we would all be quick to pass judgment on the servant and probably condemn him.

We forget, though, that humans right from the beginning of time to the present date still exhibit this folly that was exhibited by that last servant.

The good news is that we still have the chance to make positive change and dominate our world with this tools Talent.

The ball is now in your court. You can either be like the two wise servants or be like that foolish servant who refused to invest his talent and ended up losing everything.

I implore you to trade with your talent now because you never can tell what amazing result you will accomplish at the end.

Our world is made better with people who traded their talents.

We wouldn’t have electric bulbs today if Thomas Edison hadn’t put his God-given talent to good use and invented them.

Michael Faraday who invented electricity did not waste his talent.

Wilbur Wright Brothers who invented the aeroplane also did not waste their talent.

The list is endless. Start with your talent. Don’t doubt it. Believe your talent to take you higher. There is a power God invested in it.

Our talent is more real and profitable than gold and diamond. Our talent is our trading capital. All the good things that can make our life comfortable are packaged in it. Life outside our talent is an abuse of divine resources.

Frankly speaking, our challenge today is that we are looking outside ourselves. As the seed of any fruit can be found inside the fruit.

CHAPTER ONE: TALENT YOUR WEALTH EXCHANGE

CHAPTER ONE

TALENT YOUR WEALTH EXCHANGE

A wise man once said; “The striving to find a meeting in one’s life is the primary motivational force in man, there’s nothing in the world I would venture to say that will effectively help one to survive even in the midst of worst condition like the knowledge to know that there is meaning in one’s life.’’

From the time of Adam, man has been seeking the meaning of his life outside himself without looking inward.

A story was told about a man who sold his own garden and travelled to a strange land in search of diamonds. He ended up starved and wretched.

It was later discovered that the same garden he sold before his trip was a field mine of diamonds.

Imagine how wealthy this man would have been if he had only decided and attempted to work on his garden.

We are sometimes like this man who sold his vineyard and wandered away from home in search of diamonds.

Perhaps, you are thinking to yourself right now I can’t be like this man.

A wise man once said; “Life is a ten-speed bike, Most of us have gears we never use.”

The truth though is that if you have not been able to put your talent to good use, then, you are like that servant who did not put his talent to use and this man who gave up his field of diamonds in search of diamonds.
