Miranda's fifth daughter, Kai, desperately wants a pet. Wherever she goes she collects stray animals from bugs to snakes, however, none of these satisfy her dreams of having an animal she can really look after and call her own. Thankfully, a solution unexpectedly appears when their friend Richard reveals that his grandson - a golden rabbit who lives in the Lake District - has the gift of making children's wishes come true. And so, armed with some spells and a lot of camping equipment Miranda, along with her daughters Kai and Viva, embark on an adventure. The only question is will they manage to find the giant waterfall where Richard's cheeky grandson lives and return with a cuddly pet for Kai?

Once upon a time there was a witch called Miranda who had seven beautiful daughters. Miranda and her daughters crossed seven seas in search of a better home. One stormy night, they landed on the Seven Sisters Cliffs in the South of England. They built seven houses on the seven cliffs. They travelled to every corner of the enchanted land they had arrived at in search of magic.

Miranda’s fifth daughter, Kai, desperately wished for a pet. Every night when Kai went to bed she begged Miranda for a goodnight story. Kai’s favourite stories were about pets and Miranda would make up all sorts of stories full of magical and non-magical animals. After the goodnight story, Kai would kneel at the side of her bed, hold a pile of beautiful stones and pray for her stones to come alive. Her favourite one was a magical granite stone with a pink hue that looked like a puppy.

Miranda wished she could help Kai, but witches didn’t buy pets, so she didn’t quite know how to help her daughter. Some witches gave shelter to stray animals, especially cats, but the Seven Sisters Cliffs were wild, and the family had no neighbours. It was unlikely that a stray pet would land on their doorstep.

Miranda’s oldest daughter, Gabi, lived in a house in the middle of the cliffs that had stables at the back. In the winter, magical unicorns and deer took shelter in the stables, and sometimes on sunny summer evenings they took Gabi and her sisters on wild rides across the cliffs. But even though Kai loved these occasional visits in the winter and the wild rides in summer, it was not enough for her.

Whenever Kai went for a walk with her mum, she collected stray animals. Her room was full of bugs, snails, snakes, frogs, lizards and birds that had fallen out of their nests. But all of this was not enough for Kai. She wished for a fluffy pet, something she could take into bed and cuddle and share all her secrets with. Something like a puppy or kitten.

After Kai had fallen asleep, Miranda walked back and forth in her house contemplating what to do. That’s when she heard a soft pat on the door. She walked over to check and saw her dear friend Richard. Richard was one of the seven magical bunnies that lived in this land and he had helped Miranda build the seven houses the night they had arrived on the seven cliffs by boat. Like always, he had brought tea leaves and scones with him. Miranda used her magic to make a fire for her guest and they brewed the tea over the fire, as they had done on the first night they had met.
