At the end of one more year in which I dedicated more time and attention to mindfulness and meditation, I tried to make a small assessment to see how I evolved inside throughout 2020.

This is my first personal written annual evaluation. The first one I do in detail and in public. Doing it this way is a little scary but, even so, I decided to take the risk of sharing this experience/exercise.

Something I also learned this year is that we are more like each other than we realize or we want to admit.
Because of that, sharing our experiences can also be an important way of evolving together, so I will share my thoughts believing that this sharing can help me see myself more clearly and may also help others.

In this ebook, I share my journey and how think I evolved in this last year.

Remember you can always find peace and joy — just look inside yourself.

This article is my first personal written annual evaluation. The first one I do in detail and in public. Doing it this way is a little scary but, even so, I decided to take the risk of sharing this experience/exercise.

“The journey of a thousand miles…
About 3 years ago, as part of a small group, I initiated a journey to try to start living a better life. What motivated me to take that initial step was realizing that I was wasting too much energy on things that weren’t worth it, on issues that seemed to be the most important in the world and that — a week or two later — I saw that they had little or no importance.
I felt the need to learn what is truly important and how to focus on that, instead of wasting most of my time and energy with unimportant things and temporary details.
With the help of this group of people and our fantastic mentor (thanks again David), I started a journey of reflection and knowledge on the topics of mindfulness and meditation, learning a lot about the role that emotions, sensations, thoughts, and communication with others play in our lives.
In this journey, with weekly activities, I tried to understand myself better, to accept what was happening to me, and how to collaborate better with others, with the precious help of meditation and mindfulness practices.
In the month that we are about to complete our third year of joint and individual work on this path, I try to understand how I evolved during this year of 2020.
I am trying to identify the results that this learning and practices had on me. What I feel that has changed for me and those around me. I am trying to identify the changes I feel most happy with and that I think are most important for a more meaningful life, with more joy and calm.
