INTRODUCTION

I was a student in high-school when I asked my teacher why the orbit of the earth around the sun is elliptical. She honestly answered: “we do not know.”

I felt so disappointed.

As it happens, sometimes a lesson learned from an unanswered question may be a great one. That was my case.

In fact, I learned that:

- We do not have an answer for every question;

- Whether we understand “why” or not, the world continues to go on its way;

- Scientific curiosity is good, as long as it does not give you a permanent headache;

- It’s better to save some questions for later (Yes, now I know the answer to that question)

That day changed my attitude towards science.
