THE DEFEAT OF DIGITAL MONSTERS

Christian Roots is an eight-year-old resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. He lives with his mother, father, and four-year-old brother. Christian is very considerate, curious, friendly, and clever. He likes to read and create buildings with Lego Blocks. He is excited about the upcoming family vacation to Lego Land this summer. He loves music and takes piano lessons twice a week. He is busy for an eight-year-old! Christian is obedient and a significant help to his parents and others. He takes his role as big brother very seriously. He believes everything should be in its proper place. He always helps with the chores on Saturdays and encourages Micah to do the same.

Christian has a daily routine that includes morning hygiene and grooming, confessing his morning affirmations, eating breakfast, and tidying his room. Then, he is off to catch the bus for school. After school, he completes homework in after-school care. He practices piano. Finally, he has supper, bath, and a bedtime story from mom or dad, kisses and prayer.

Today the daily routine was changed because the family went out for dinner. It was the second time this month. Christian was happy because he liked to eat at Goodies Restaurant. It has the best barbecue ribs, coleslaw, and waffle fries. Christian likes to eat his fries with the delicious barbeque sauce. After returning home from the restaurant, it was bath time. Christian and Micah quickly completed their nightly routines.

Following bath time, Dad read the boys a story about the “Curious Bear” and asked them questions. Afterwards, Dad, Christian, and Micah prayed.

Dad turned off the lights and closed the door, so they could quickly fall asleep.

Not even five minutes after the lights were off, Micah said, "Christian, I'm scared."

Christian responded by saying, “It is ok, Micah. You can come over here and sleep in my bed with me."

Micah wasted no time running across the room to get into the bed with his brother. As soon as Christian drifted off into sleep, Micah said to Christian, "Wake up the monsters are here."
