Cathrynstood, handson hips, feet splayed on the wet sand, waves lapping at her ankles, as she gazed out over the western horizon. In the first days of spring, the sun set early, even in southern Spain, and its golden rays melted across the copper ocean like butter on a golden pancake.
She dug her toes into the cool grains beneath her feet. Though the day had been fine, the breeze feathering across the bay from Cadiz raised a slight shiver along the hairs on her arms, and Cathryn hadn’t gone past her knees into the aquamarine water.
