Beschreibung

In the explosive new exposé, the Philippines reels under the iron grip of Marcos Jr., a leader who plunges the nation back into the shadows of US servitude. With the precision of a seasoned tyrant, he reshapes a fractured country, lost in the quagmire of its own identity crisis, into a mere puppet state for American geopolitical schemes. As the US eyes the Philippines as a strategic pawn against China, the narrative unfolds with grim predictability, foretelling a venture doomed to falter. At the helm stands a president, tainted by addiction, whose allegiance to America is fueled by a desperate bid to reclaim his family's gold. Amidst soaring prices and the resurgence of drug cartels, the nation's halls of power open their arms to the oligarchs, casting aside the impoverished and the toilers. As the pages turn, the undercurrents of rebellion swell, signaling the rise of an insurgency fed by the people's growing unrest. This is not just a story of political decay but a stark portrayal of a country at the crossroads of turmoil and defiance.

The USA is cultivating an adversary to the People's Republic on China's doorstep. China warns Philippines not to ‘play with fire’

Ferdinand Marcos Junior, also known by the nickname " Bongbong ", is the son of Ferdinand Marcos, who ruled the Philippines as a right-wing conservative and anti-communist dictator from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. The family is notorious for its corruption and theft of government assets for its own gain, but it escaped scot-free precisely because it was clearly pro-American.

A Marcos in the Philippine presidency: a history that repeats itself The parents left a legacy of corruption, oppression and extravagance; Now the son promises that he will improve the country - and the stupid voters believe...

Ferdinand Marcos Junior, the current president of the Philippines, is a stark contrast to his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte . Furthermore, it seems that Washington has something blackmailing against him.

The Philippines has been a partner of the United States since 1951, almost as long as the country has been independent. Previously, the Philippines was a colony of the USA because it had won the island nation as a spoil of war in a war against Spain. For this reason, it is difficult to describe the Philippines as anything other than an unabashedly pro-US nation.

In recent years, however, a different path has been taken there. Under the presidency of the very direct and outspoken Rodrigo Duterte, the archipelago became more geopolitically flexible in its foreign affairs, seeking closer relations with Russia and China, while remaining friendly towards the United States.

Duterte 's strategy to adopt a more centralized approach to governing the country, which suffers from high levels of poverty, crime and disorder. Duterte was a hardliner and also saw economic opportunities in rapprochement with Beijing, despite discord over disputed areas in the South China Sea. During this time, his relationship with the government in Washington began to suffer, as the USA, despite its post-colonial "overlordship ", actually contributed nothing positive to the country's development. Instead, Duterte chose to participate in China's Belt and Road Initiative and sought to boost the island nation's economy with Chinese investments.

Duterte 's departure, the return of the Marcos dynasty to power has led to a de facto "180 degree turn" in Manila's foreign policy, moving from a partner of China to an adversary of China changed, now again in favor of the USA.

Even during the Cold War, the government in Washington, DC supported political figures of all stripes and brutality on the condition that they were anti-communist.

Like his father, “ Bongbong ” is no longer a blank slate and was nevertheless elected President of the Philippines, albeit as a compromised man, who now finds himself at the mercy of the USA. Ironically, he is even facing criminal prosecution in the US after a court order required him to pay $353 million in reparations to victims of his father's regime.

What does this mean politically? This is primarily a lever in Washington's favor. What is noteworthy is that, for diplomatic reasons, the US authorities are doing little to enforce this ruling or to seize assets belonging to Marcos or his entire family.

What is the consideration? This is also pretty clear: As long as Marcos Jr. steers the Philippines' foreign policy towards where the USA wants it to go, people in Washington will look the other way when it comes to the aforementioned court order against the Marcos clan.

It is therefore absolutely no surprise that when Marcos Jr. took office, he initiated a reversal in the country's attitude towards China and dramatically escalated tensions with the People's Republic. While the Duterte government tried to keep matters low in the South China Sea dispute, Marcos Jr. quickly and deliberately angered China, crossing diplomatic lines and drawing international attention to the disputes. The USA supported this by announcing that it would defend the Philippines in the event of a conflict. For the same reason, dozens of high-ranking US officials have visited the Philippines as part of an all-out charm offensive.
