FOR YOU ARE WITH ME: Eight Blessings Resulting From God's Presence (A Study of Psalm 23), is the first attempt to produce a series of Resources for Small Group Bible Study (RSGBS).  All the lessons were prepared for the Bible study leader in mind handling a group of five to ten people.  Although these studies were designed for a smaller group, they can also be used as a resource for teaching or preaching to a larger audience.

These materials include discussion guides for the Bible study leader.  All discussion questions are geared towards simple application of the text to everyday experience. 

Most verses from Psalm 23 also have a brief explanation of the grammatical structure of the text and pertinent historical background (exegesis).  Only the most relevant exegetical information is included so it does not distract the flow of group discussion.

Finally, the small group facilitator will be equipped with illustrations from daily experience.  Anecdotes from the lives of famous individuals and ordinary people are also included to lead to a more interesting group discussion.

This same approach of discussion/application, exegesis and illustration will also be applied to the next issues of Resources for Small Group Bible Study (RSGBS).[1]  Selected chapters or sections from the Bible will be thoroughly studied using the same three-pronged technique.

Introduction

BOGO - Buy One Get One.  Most consumers already consider this a good deal.  But what if you get eight for buying only one?  Is this deal too good to be true?  In Psalm 23, David mentions eight blessings that he receives because the Lord is with him.  This is a really good deal.  It is also definitely true.  Let’s examine the structure of Psalm 23.
