Did you know that over 3,000 years ago the Israelites took a very long journey from Egypt to the land that God had promised them? This journey is also a picture of our journey with Jesus. What does God want to speak to us today through this?
God’s Dwelling Place continues with the second part of Israel’s journey beginning with Israel in the wilderness and ending with God’s dwelling place in the land of promise. It beautifully illustrates and narrates the battles and victories, and the miracles God did to bring them into their inheritance and finally into His dwelling place.
Your child will also learn what it will take for us to satisfy God’s desire for us to be as close to Him as possible.

We dedicate this book to our Lord Jesus Christ who has opened the way for us to dwell with Him on Mount Zion. We also want to thank Dr. Brian J. Bailey who is a faithful teacher of the Journey of Israel and its spiritual truths.
As parents, you know how precious your children are to you. Children are very precious in God’s sight as well. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14 NKJV). It is our desire to see children come to know Jesus.
We want to bring the simple truth from God’s Word to children. We believe that what children learn today will be a guiding force in their future. Therefore, children need a strong foundation in God’s Word.
It is the responsibility of parents and godly teachers to teach children God’s ways. How else will they learn to love God’s Word? It is our prayer that once these little ones know who God is, they will choose to love and follow Him with their whole heart.
Psalms 78:5-7 tells us it is our duty to teach children the laws of God. “For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments.”
May this book be a blessing to you and your children as you follow God’s pathway of righteousness.

The Bible is the written Word of God. When you read the stories from the Bible, do you ever wonder why God gave them? Are they just stories of things that happened a very long time ago?
The Bible is more than just a book of good stories. It gives examples of people who followed God and shows how God helped and blessed them for their obedience. It also shows what happens to people who disobey Him. As we read, we can learn from the lives of the people God tells us about.
The Journey of Israel is a story from the Bible that is full of examples that teach us things God wants us to know. “All these things happened to them [the Israelites] for examples, and they were written for our admonition [warning]” (1 Corinthians 10:11).
What is a journey? A journey is a trip from one place to another. The Children of Israel had been in Egypt for four hundred years, and it was time for them to leave. God wanted to take them to live in Canaan, the land He had promised to Abraham and his descendents. However, they had become the Egyptians’ slaves, and the Pharaoh did not want to let them leave. God had to send ten plagues against the Egyptians before they finally let the Children of Israel leave. After they left Egypt, it took them forty years before they were ready to enter Canaan, the Promised Land. It took them another four hundred years until they completely obeyed God’s plan and possessed Mount Zion. Mount Zion is located outside of Jerusalem, the city that would be their capital. It was also the place where the presence of God would be, and they could come worship Him.
