Written By: Meron Mehari, Stockholm City, Sweden.
Dedicated To: I dedicate this book to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for my sins even though he knew it would take me 24 Years to notice him.
I thank my earthly Father, Mehari Woldehisan, who, for many years, prayed to Jesus and to the Holy Spirit to save me from darkness and eternity in purgatory. He answered all my questions and taught me to study and not just read the Bible. My Father did not give up hope on me for 24 years till the day of my Salvation; while I made it a bit tough to love myself some days, I was constantly in his prayers, and as strong as his prayers were, they paid off!
This book is written for anyone looking for Jesus but feeling like they can't find him. This is a book that, through my Testimony, will hopefully give at least 12 lost souls peace and guidance to pray hard for their Salvation. This book contains answers to most topics concerning Christianity. Sin, demons, crime, sex, drugs & alcohol, friends, Jesus, good and bad churches, prayers, how to get closer to God, etc. Most of the questions you have will be answered in this book so that you can more easily move forward in your journey with God. Everything written in the book is backed up with biblical texts.
I have lived a life that drifted for many years to the extreme. And by the extreme, I mean drugs, kidnappings, robberies, stabbings, guns, shootings, murders, love of money, and a lot more. Hopefully, no one will have to go through all of this before the Holy Spirit with the hand of God fills their hearts.
This book is not written to save you; only our Lord Jesus Christ can give us Salvation with his glory. But it can guide you on how to find Jesus, as Salvation does not just come by sitting down waiting, but it requires an active change or at least an acknowledgment in your prayer to our Lord Jesus about your sins and your lostness!
I also write this because I sincerely believe that I owe Jesus, my beloved pillar, my time after having been against him for so long and defamed his holy name. In anger, I have denied him among people for several years, and I also remember telling my father in anger that I am Jesus and God. Without going into my heinous actions, I am extremely grateful to Jesus, who gave me a new life and endowed me with the ability to write and speak. I have found my calling in life and the talent I have had since childhood, the power of writing and speaking, I now use to pass on the word about our Lord!
Thank you, Jesus Christ; I will preach what you have done for me, and how strong your power and the Gospel is until I die!
From M.M!
Jesus Christ is simply God. God, the Son, the Savior, the Messiah, the Son of Man.
"For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive."1 Corinthians 15:22 (AMP)
"In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.John 1:4(AMP)
Very truly, I tell you, "Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!"John 8:58(NIV)
"I and my Father are one."John 10:30(NIV)
About 2000 years ago, Jesus was born without carnal contact with his mother, Mary, and the heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit caused Mary to become pregnant after receiving a visit from an angel who revealed that God had chosen her to give birth to His Son. We received a comprehensive account of Jesus Christ's birth in the book of Luke.
"In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.' M' ary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his Father David, and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever; his kingdom will never end."
"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth, your relative, is going to have a child in her old age, and she, who was said to be unable to conceive, is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail." "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May your word to me be fulfilled." Then the angel left her.Luke 1:26-38(NIV)
Some Bible scholars believe he was born sometime between 6 and 4 BC, but it's easier and more accurate to say that when Christ was born, the world was also born with Him. As a result, we may end the thousands of speculations about the year of his birth and start from zero. Long before Jesus was born, the world and man already existed, but He also brought life when He came to earth. Therefore, the new world was born at the same time as Him. (It was the monk Dionysius Exiguus in Rome who developed the system of counting the years after the birth of Christ as part of his work to be able to determine the date of Easter). Towards the end of King Herod's rule, Jesus was born in Bethlehem in the Kingdom of Judea of the Roman Empire. Jesus lived for about 33 to 36 years. He worked as a carpenter in his hometown, Nazareth, for the first 30 years. Jesus started his mission as the Savior around the same time he met and was baptized by John the Baptist, and during these last 3-6 years of his life, he performed miracles that are still discussed today. His most well-known miracles included curing the sick, resurrecting the dead, walking on water, and changing water into wine. As a very talented speaker, he attracted many people who adored him. He supported his preaching with the power to perform miracles. Since many of the people who came to Jesus were afflicted with demons or other mental ailments that governed their behavior and thought processes, he was also known for casting out demons from those possessed.
While Jesus preached his teaching and the word of God, he selected 12 disciples with whom he shared his daily life and teachings. Since they spent their days with the Lord Jesus, these 12 disciples were the ones who knew him best. Jesus had intended for them to spread his teachings and direct people to the right path and faith that leads to eternal life. Jesus, who was now known for his ethical teachings and powerful ministry, gained more than devoted disciples. When many unbelievers and pagans who worshiped various false gods such as the sun, stars, animals, and kings started following Jesus' teachings, the unbelieving Jews, Pharisees, and rulers decided that they wanted Him dead. They felt that his teachings would provide people with liberating knowledge and, as a result, free them from their iron grip and the faith of the old doctrine - known as the Old Testament. For many years, scribes, Pharisees, and rulers persecuted him; nonetheless, his message found a home in many cities, villages, and countries; unfortunately, his hometown of Nazareth was against him.
Jesus was Rejected at Nazareth; Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. 2 When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed.
"Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing? 3 Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him.
4 Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives, and in his own home.".Mark 6:1-4 (NIV)
Jesus died on a Friday, which we now remember by commemorating Good Friday. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and was greeted with palm branches, treated as a king would be at the time. On Maundy Thursday, as commonly known, he was betrayed by one of his disciples and taken prisoner by Roman soldiers. On Good Friday, he was given the death penalty, then crucified at a location called "Golgotha" after being humiliated and scourged.
Jesus, who was without sin, atoned for the sins of the entire world by dying on the cross. Thus, the possibility of receiving God's mercy and eternal life was made available to people. You may do this by embracing Jesus as your Lord and accepting him into your heart.
Jesus was the Lamb of God, offered as a sacrifice for all people so that those who believe may not perish but have eternal life. The only way to obtain God's forgiveness before the death of Jesus was through the sacrifice of spotless lambs. Jesus' death on the cross has made it possible for everyone to have a personal relationship with God.
On Easter Sunday, the third day after his crucifixion, Jesus was resurrected from the dead. Even though it happens two days after his death, Jewish tradition refers to it as the "third day." A series of incidents occur over the course of three days. He is buried after dying on the first day, and on the third day, he comes back to life. The massive stone Roman sealed stone that had been placed at the tomb's entrance was removed. Additionally, despite the presence of Roman guards, he left quickly. After his resurrection, Jesus did not immediately ascend to heaven but temporarily showed himself to be alive. He ascended to heaven at the "Ascension of Christ".
The Bible & Jesus makes a promise that He will return. The ascension and the resurrection of the dead are just two examples of many suggestions for how it should happen. The Bible makes it clear that it will happen. As a result, there are several beliefs, aspirations, and expectations that the second coming of Jesus Christ is very near. Everyone finds great consolation in knowing that Jesus will return. The return of Jesus Christ is likened to the coming of a thief in the night. "Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed."Revelation 16:15(NIV)
“But understand this: If the head of the house had known what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into."Matthew 24:43 (AMP)
"Or you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.1 Thessalonians 5:2(NIV)
Jesus will come when we least expect it! So be ready every day, be righteous and do not sin, and you shall have eternal life!
Without God's understanding, it is impossible to describe how to "Find" or become closer to Jesus to anyone. When the right time has arrived for you to see the light, Jesus will come with a bang and fill you with a revelation that will give you the maturity to realize that a life of peace is impossible without Him. Of course, there are things you can do to approach God and perhaps even "find" him. No specific ritual that gives you an epiphany will ever be explained to you by a saved person or priest so that you can do the same to live a saved life. Each saved individual has their own Testimony and story of what they had to do and how they went about it. I remember, before I was saved, praying multiple times while actively participating in the criminal cycle I was planted in since prayer was simply part of a cultural faith that I carried at the time.
Just understand that salvation is about believing in Jesus and giving your life to him. Cultural faith is often carried by someone who is a Christian just because they were born into a Christian family or grew up in a Christian culture. It does not imply that you are saved or even a believer just because you were born a Christian. Cultural Christians are similar to people who go to the gym to work out with friends to get a fast pump before dashing to a party, as opposed to others who go to the gym to improve their health, body, and mental stability. Salvation is something you experience in your entire heart, soul, head, and spinal cord. It's like being born again. An "Aha, now I understand" that can't be explained to someone who hasn't been saved.
Even Christians who have been believers for 90 years cannot comprehend Salvation unless they have been saved. Salvation is similar to a revelation that will stick with you forever and that you won't quickly forget. Understand that the Lord's way isn't always the way we want it to be, but it's always the way we need it to be since He knows what we need to prosper. Praying as an unbeliever is excellent; you should do it because our Lord always listens to you and takes your words seriously. However, there is a distinction between how a believer and an unbeliever pray; unbelievers frequently ask for the wrong things, such as money, boyfriends, girls, a new car, a raise in income, a larger house, and so on. These are humane and common prayers, yet they often go unanswered, leading us to assume that Jesus does not exist since we have not seen any immediate or noticeable improvements. Jesus understands exactly what we require and provides us with the tools to develop character and individuality.
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
Once you're saved, you'll discover that these things won't even cross your mind; instead, you'll start praying for more of the Holy Spirit and Jesus, and that's when you'll know you're truly saved. Finally, you will no longer care about these material possessions of the world at all, and you will only pray for prosperity and an increase in the Holy Spirit. The fact that you even ask Jesus for these “worldly” things shows that you still have faith in Him, even if it is so weak that you ask for worldly riches and are praying based on your desires. The power of prayer is real and tremendously strong if you pray for the appropriate things that initially attract the Holy Spirit to fill you for Salvation.
Begin by asking Jesus for the Holy Spirit. Ask for forgiveness for your transgressions and express to Him how tired you are of living without His guidance and light. Explain to him that you are ashamed of your actions, and tell him what you have done. Only then, when you sit there in solitude with the Lord, you'll realize that you are ashamed even to speak of what you have done, can your salvation begin. However, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Only you and the Lord can hear you, and the Lord will not gossip about your sins. Do you now see that the Lord is always there for us? The only one you may talk to who will not tell anyone about what you said to him!
"So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.Luke 11:9-10(NIV)
Pray to receive the Holy Spirit. Pray to be saved, pray and believe in what you say, and most importantly, believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior!
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."John 14:6
