All research institutions are working on a vaccine, but so far without success. There is a ray of hope in research, as a vaccine has been discovered. The problem is that you have to travel back to the Cretaceous period to find it. This is because the vaccine was made from proteins from a dinosaur egg, a Tyrannosaurus Rex egg to be precise. Therefore, a small team of researchers and military personnel are given the task of traveling through a time portal to collect the required eggs.

KILL THE T-REX! The plague!
An unknown epidemic has broken out on Earth.
At night on a military base, DR. ELINA is in the laboratory, working.
An almost empty laboratory. Through a window you can see that it is dark outside, the artificial lighting makes everything look cold and impersonal. A woman is standing at a test set-up and working, it's DR. ELINA, a news program is playing on the television in the background, the newsreader is reporting on an unknown epidemic that has already claimed a million lives in a year. Dr. ELINA sighs. An elderly man enters the room, it is DR. MANUEL, he holds a thick file folder in his hand and places it on the table next to Dr. ELINA.
DR. ELINA
Hello Dr. Manuel, what are you bringing me?
DR. MANUEL (discouraged):
These are more documents about unknown substances. Maybe you can discover something useful, I had no luck. But you know what they say, hope dies last.
With these words, Dr. Manuel says goodbye and leaves the laboratory.
DR. ELINA (stressed):
Thank you!
She calls after him and continues working. Suddenly she runs to the door.
DR. ELINA:
Quick, come back and take a look!
Dr. Manuel runs back into the lab.
DR. MANUEL (excitedly):
Have you found anything?
DR. ELINA (excitedly):
See how quickly the cells regenerate.
Dr. ELINA points to the sample under the microscope.
DR. MANUEL (excitedly):
That's incredible, you've found the cure.
The two embrace.
DR. MANUEL (curious):
What did you use to develop the remedy?
DR. ELINA:
From the proteins of an archaeological find, a T-Rex egg. The remains were recovered last year in a desert in North America. As the egg was surprisingly well preserved, I was able to extract the proteins from it.
DR. MANUEL:
What?
DR. ELINA:
Hopefully it will be possible to produce these proteins synthetically, otherwise the cure will only be enough for 20 people.
Both remain silent for a moment. Dr. Elina then calls some colleagues to discuss the next steps.
LT. PHILLIP enters a conference room
GENERAL VINCENT:
Lt. Phillip, good that you were able to come so quickly.
Lt. Phillip salutes and answers GENERAL VINCENT.
LT. PHILLIP:
Yes!
GENERAL VINCENT:
May I introduce you to Dr. Elina, she has found a cure for the global pandemic.
LT. PHILLIP (delighted):
This is great news.
Lt. Phillip shakes Dr. Elina's hand.
GENERAL VINCENT:
But as is so often the case in life, it's more complicated than you think. Dr. Elina explains the problem best.
DR. ELINA:
The protein needed to produce the remedy cannot be produced synthetically. Not yet. And it was extracted from the remains of a T-Rex egg. The cure produced is just enough for 20 people. And it was almost a miracle that we found this one, well-preserved egg.
LT. PHILLIP (puzzled):
But how can the cure be produced without these T-Rex eggs?
General Vincent walks out of the conference room, down a corridor, Lt. Phillip and Dr. Elina accompany him.
GENERAL VINCENT:
I'm glad you asked. You and Dr. Elina will put together a team and then you will set off on an expedition and get us enough T-Rex eggs. These can then be cloned and our problem will be solved.
Before Lt. Phillip can say anything, General Vincent presses a button and a large gate opens, leading outside to a test area.
The test site is huge, various workers, scientists and soldiers can be seen working there. In the background you can see a large ramp with a submarine standing in front of it, jacked up on a steel structure.
LT. PHILLIP (puzzled):
What is this?
GENERAL VINCENT (proud):
This is the gateway to the past, to the Cretaceous period to be precise.
LT. PHILLIP (astonished):
That is not possible.
General Vincent goes on to say that this access to the Cretaceous period was discovered years ago, but that until now there has been no such significant reason to take the risk of time travel. Especially with the current state of technology, the risk for all humans is very high, and it is unknown whether a return is possible. However, the unknown effects on the present were always the most serious reason. But since the epidemic threatens all of humanity, this mission was approved by various international bodies.
LT. PHILLIP (astonished):
I noticed the submarine...
GENERAL VINCENT (interrupting him):
You really don't miss anything.
General Vincent pats Lt. Phillip on the shoulder.
GENERAL VINCENT:
Dr. Elina explains it best.
DR. ELINA:
We need the submarine because there was water everywhere here in the Cretaceous period.
