Preface

Chagan was a Bahubali politician. He used his muscle power for his selfish interests. The rest of the time he remained a well-mannered soft-spoken man. Yet none could raise his head in front of him. He had only one vocal opponent in that area, Manav, the second Bahubali leader of the area. Chagan had a hand in making him, a Bahubali

While translating I retained a few Hindi words like-

Bahubali=Strongman

Bhaisahab=A respectful address of the elder brother

Darshan=beholding with devotion

15 May 2002 Harinagar

The Chagan MLA sat restlessly in his drawing-room. Shankarlal, his secretary was also present.

His party workers and supporters were raising the slogan " Chagan Bhai Zindabad Zindabad, Zindabad.

In between, someone would also raise the slogan of Zindabad for his younger brother Magan.

Rajan was also there. He was a sharpshooter of Chagan’s earlier gang. He had worked quite hard to make him win the election.

Shankarlal told the MLA, " You could have consulted Panditji over the phone. He used to call Sadanand Shastri astrologer as Panditji.

Chagan replied, " I get more confident by seeing him in person.”

Then Shastri entered the room. The door was already open.

Both MLA and Secretary stood up. All the people greeted each other and sat down.

Astrologer Shastri sat next to the MLA on the sofa. There was a table in front of them.

The legislator took out a slip of paper from his pocket and gave it to Pandit. On that slip, the MLA's date of birth, place of birth, and time of birth were written.

The astrologer took out the Panchang calendar from his yellow bag and made the MLA's birth chart.

Then he did some calculations on his fingers for a while. His face had become a bit grim.

The astrologer said, " Sir, tomorrow is not the best day to take the oath. Can you change anything in this program?"

MLA's face was also a bit drab.

He said, " All newly elected MLAs have to take an oath tomorrow. No change is possible now."

The astrologer said soothingly, " There is no serious problem. The Saturn is a little upset. I will take some measure to please him."

The MLA indicated to the secretary. The secretary gave Rs 5000 to the astrologer. "

" Shastriji, if you could be present at the ceremony, it would be nice." Chagan urged.

Rajan replied, " I will bring him with me."

 The MLA had as much trust in the astrologer as some person has on a doctor. He wanted Pandit there with the same feeling as if there was a doctor with the sick, then the sick has the support that he is there to handle an emergency.
