Do you know only one thing is needed? And if we find out what that one thing is and focus on it, everything else will follow along with us.
As we live in a world where we live very busy lives, especially if you live in a busy city, we are faced with many challenges at work, at home, and at school with a long list of things we want to accomplish. Sadly, when we fail to accomplish this in time, we become frustrated and depressed.
As a result, I feel compelled to share this critical message with my generation of anxious and desperate young minds. In writing this book, I hope to draw the attention of many young minds in my generation to the one thing that is truly important for them to seek and care about with their hearts, minds, souls and spirits. This book also reveals five principles they will need to chart their own destiny, discover their purpose, and live a peaceful and contented life when they apply these principles.
This book reveals the one thing needed to transform your life, apply the principles you learn and watch your life explode into greatness.

FIRST WORD
There are lots of distractions in our world today, but regardless of this aforementioned fact, there is just one thing that remains pertinent and of course, is a constant phenomenon that will never change which we must abide by and live by all the days of our lives.
My first word for you given by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost is from Luke 10: 25-34 KJV, where the title of this book ‘One Thing is Needful’ was inspired. This bible passage describes one important event involving Martha and her sister, Mary, when Martha welcomed Jesus into her shared home with Mary when Jesus came to Bethany. It was stated that Martha swung immediately into action and got really distracted by the task of serving Jesus. Meanwhile, her sister Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, listening to his words. However, this pleasant story takes a sharp turn when Martha, who was distracted by her many tasks, comes to Jesus and asks, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me” (Luke 10:40). Jesus’ response to Martha seems less than empathetic, chiding her for her distraction and worry, and praising Mary: “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need for only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her''(Luke 10:41-42). But only if Martha knew that there is a need for only one thing: to sit at Jesus’ feet and to hear his word, to have a relationship with Jesus. Martha should have given Jesus her full attention just as Mary did. Jesus Christ, her guest, is not just any guest but a guest with abundant gifts to give. Just like Martha, many people today due to a culture of hectic schedules and pursuit of productivity, are tempted to measure their worth by how busy they are, by how much they have accomplished, or by how well they meet the expectations of others. They feel pulled in different directions, worried, and distracted by many things in our fast-paced world. And yet, as Jesus says in Luke 12:25, “Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?” It is true that much of our anxiety and distraction most times stems from the noblest of intentions. We want to provide for our families, we want to give our children every opportunity to enrich their lives, and yes, we want to serve the Lord. However, if all our activities leave us with no time to be in the Lord's presence and hear God’s word, we are likely to end up anxious and troubled. Trying to serve and being troubled about the issues of life without being nourished by God’s word is like expecting good fruit to grow on a tree that has been uprooted. We do not know what happened next, whether Mary and Martha were reconciled, whether they were able to enjoy the meal that Martha had prepared, or whether Martha was finally able to sit and give her full attention to Jesus. But one thing is needed, which is the fact that Jesus invites all who are worried and distracted by many things to sit and rest in his presence, to hear his words and know that we are loved and valued as children of God.
The second word I have for you is from Mathew 6: 25-34 KJV. It is one of the sure words of God that inspired me to write this book and it is my belief and prayer that as you read this book the holy spirit will open your eyes to the truth of the word and help you to believe it so that you can run with it all the days of your life.
