In year 3073, a boy named Peter finally had the courage to escape the evil planet Toshem.
Peter did not know why he felt so different, alone, and unlike everyone else on Toshem. All he wanted to do was leave as fast as possible and get far away from Benson, his father. Benson and his evil ways had taken all the natural resources from the planet and left the people with nothing.
Peter took one of his father's space pods to go to the nice blue planet he had seen from his telescope. On Earth, two brothers were in the woods looking for pieces of metal to build a spaceship. When the brothers looked up at the sky, they saw a big ball of fire coming straight down to earth. Peter had lost control and had only one option, and that was to crash. Peter was unconscious and trapped inside of a burning space pod.
The brothers sprung into action and quickly put the fire out. They noticed that there was a boy inside the pod when the smoke cleared.
The brothers took the boy, who did not look much older than themselves, to their garage to patch him up. Bryce, the older brother, knew how to fix Peter up because he had been taught by his father to heal people. While Bryce was healing the boy, DJ, the builder, decided to go back to the wreckage to take some parts from the space pod to finish what they had started.
While Bryce was working on the alien boy, he noticed there was a seal that read “Peter.” As Bryce removed that seal from the body, a flashing device with four different colored orbs appeared.
DJ came back from the ship and saw the flashing device and said, “It looks like a tracking device!”
Seconds later, Peter woke up with the orbs glowing as bright as a star. They read water, air, fire, and earth. Peter, with no hesitation, yelled, “I'm being tracked!”
From a far distance, they heard a loud boom. Peter thanked the brothers for saving him. He let them know that he has left a planet far from here for reasons they will soon find out, and if they choose to hang around him, there would be a battle between good and evil.
They wanted to know who was tracking him and why. Peter let them know that his father, Benson, was evil and wanted the orbs for himself. He would stop at nothing to get them.
DJ had already started to repair the ship so they could escape, but Peter made it very clear that there would not be enough time. The sound they heard was his father, and he was getting closer. Peter instructed DJ to make weapons so they would have a chance against one of the strongest beings in the galaxy.
Dark cumulus clouds filled the sky, and the warm air was replaced with cold air. Out of nowhere came a loud roar, “Give me back my elements!”
With the force of a tornado, Benson blew the garage miles away, leaving the brothers in shock by his power. DJ’s new gadget picked up a giant rock and hit Benson, stunning him and giving the boys some time to figure out a game plan.
The plan was for Bryce and Peter to fight using the orbs and weapons DJ created. DJ would return to the ship to get it ready to leave in a hurry.
With no time to relax, the rain came in like Hurricane Mathew. It was Benson showing that his powers were natural disasters. Benson’s strength of wind moved the rocks with which Peter had protected himself. Peter, not being afraid, used the orb of water to create a force that knocked Benson down.
Benson was not only mad, but he was embarrassed that his son was much stronger than he. So he did what any person would do in his situation–he played his last card. If he could not take the elements for himself, he would take out the whole planet. This way no one could have the elements!
DJ gave the signal that the ship was basically complete, and Peter, not telling his friends that he was very weak himself, had only one more element. Peter must now show courage and control, because fire is the element that can get out of control quickly.
Benson pulled his arm out and began the bomb countdown. Without any hesitation, Peter took off toward Benson. With the heat of the sun, Benson burst into flames. The bomb had reached the final second. It exploded, leaving Peter falling from the sky and Benson nowhere in sight.
Bryce was going to have to use all of his knowledge to repair Peter once again. This would take days, possibly weeks.
Days passed, and DJ fixed the ship to leave. Peter had not yet woken up. The brothers were not going to leave without their new buddy. They had collected all the orbs from the fight: earth, fire, water, and wind. They even found Benson’s elements of tsunami and hurricane. Bryce installed all the elements into Peter, hoping it would wake him up.
Peter was still alive, and just like last time, he woke up. The elements sounded off: earth, fire, wind, water. This time, however, he had tsunami and hurricane added to the sequence! Peter thanked the two brothers for believing in him and fighting toe to toe with Benson.
Then Peter asked the question they all had been thinking, “Where do we go from here?”
Peter and the brothers had defeated Benson. They decided that they would use Earth as their home, but they would travel across the galaxy fighting evil and freeing people from those who practice evil ways. Peter and the brothers trusted in each other and decided to leave Earth for their first mission.
They would go to Toshem to check on Peter's people. It would be a small mission, but a large one for the brothers, because they have only dreamed of going to space. After Toshem, they would go to the planet Retsnom to look for the brothers’ parents.
Peter and the brothers buckled up in the new ship and took off. The brothers’ curiosity was a feeling that Peter knew would not last, because the universe was full of danger.
This was the start of Peter, the Brothers, and Rise of the Elements.
The End
By Ronnie Jensen
Some people say being as small as me is a bad thing. But I see it as a plus. I can sleep in an air vent, which I do most of the time.
My name is Steven, and if you were wondering, I’m an elf. I am an only child, but Mark, my friend, lives with me and my Grandpa Joe. I was very young when my parents were caught in a huge snow storm at the North Pole. They never returned home from that trip. That is when I began to hate the cold and the snow.
I’d moved in with Grandpa Joe. It sure was a lot warmer there. He’s really nice and takes such good care of me.
Mark came to live with us when his parents got run over by a reindeer on the way to Grandma’s house. Crazy, right?
One day, Mark and I went out. “Mark, wait up!” I yelled. “Let's go get our bikes.”
Mark replied, “Sure, but do you wanna race?”
We ran home as fast as we could to get our bikes. Once we got them, we were on the road. We are always very careful. After all, we are only four inches tall.
The next thing I heard was BAM, CRASH, SPLAT! I had been hit by a rock off the wheel of a car. I was rushed to a secret elf hospital.
Sleepily, I opened my eyes and said, “Huh? What?”
“Steven!” Mark and Grandpa Joe yelled.
“Is everything okay?” Mark asked.
