The failure of the Church today is not lack of faith but lack of knowledge about her new creation realities, our redemption in Christ and the authority of the name of Jesus. Because Jesus has fulfilled every claims of Justice to make the Church the living organism, which God has predestinated her to be. The church has been fed with too much sense knowledge, sin consciousness and every form of inferiority complex and thus has become more conscious of the power of Satan more than the Risen Christ, which is residing within us. The church has not taught us (the New Creations) the truth of what we are in Christ or how Righteousness and Faith had been made available to us. The church has been very strong in her criticising of sins in the believer. She has been very strong in teaching man his need of Righteousness, his weakness and inability to please God, his state of unbelief, world conformity and lack of faith. There are too many theological junk going on in the name of full gospel message. However, a clear knowledge of our privileges and rights in Christ will lift us from the place of failure to the position of masters and supermen over circumstances and the devil In this series comprising of three mini books, we are going to unveil the three keys to power made available to us through Righteousness. The Keys are the Reality of the Authority of the Name of Jesus, The Reality of the New Creation and the Reality of our Redemption in Christ. And we are starting with UNDERSTANDING THE AUTHORITY OF THE NAME OF JESUS. It is my greatest belief that after reading through this book, the truth inside will literally change your entire life. I mean this book will change you as you discover truths that will set you free from the chains of ignorance, diseases, poverty and failure.

The Commission

“Son, I have not called you to build a church (denomination), But to build churches. The ministry I gave to you is not for a group of people, but for the entire body of Christ… I have sent you forth to set free the captives through prayers and the teaching of My Word”…

 “Son the time has come to rise up and do what I sent you, see my church has forsaken me the fountain of LIVINGWATERS… go wake up My Church in your generation, my word of power is in your mouth, saith the Lord”

Introduction

The failure of the Church today is not lack of faith but lack of knowledge about her new creation realities, our redemption in Christ and the authority of the name of Jesus.  Because Jesus has fulfilled every claims of Justice to make the Church the living organism, which God has predestinated her to be.  The church has been fed with too much sense knowledge, sin consciousness and every form of inferiority complex and thus has become more conscious of the power of Satan more than the Risen Christ, which is residing within us.

Little children, you are of God – you belong to Him – and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of antichrist], because He who lives in you is greater [mightier] than he who is in the world I John 4:4 (Amplified)

Understanding The Name

When God planned our Redemption, He knew the measure of Satan’s ability.  He knew that Jesus had paralysed the power of Satan.  He knew that He must give us ability to dominate Satan; for if He did not, the new creation would fall prey to the devil as the first Adam did.

To keep Satan from getting the advantage over us for we are not ignorant of his wills and intentions II Corinthians 2:11 (AMPLIFIED)

Before Jesus ascended to be seated at the right hand of the Father, He said, “All power [authority] is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matt. 28:18).  In verse 19, He immediately delegated His authority in the earth to the church through the use of His Name in Mark 16:17-19.  He gave us His Name as the authority.  His power is in the Name.  He gave us the Name that is recognised in the three worlds – in heaven, on earth, and under the earth.

This Name has been given to us.  What is mine; I do not need faith to use it.  When we are born into the family of God, the right to use the Name was given to us and the privilege to use it comes with the New Birth. 

The Name is our family name.  We are covenant people, and the Name is our covenant Name.  Jesus is now with us in the power of that Name, the Name is to take His place.  All that He could do physically then can be done physically now by every believer through the use of His Name.

 We have a four-fold right to use the Name:-

1. We are born into the family of God and the Name belongs to the family.

2. We are baptized into the Name and being baptized into that Name, we are baptized into Christ Himself.  And that means to be identified with His character and purpose.

3. Jesus who gave us the power of attorney conferred it upon us.

4. We are commissioned as ambassadors to go and preach this Name among the nations.

Authority could be defined as the power, rights to govern and to rule and have dominion over.  For authority to be effective, it has to be empowered by the four components of authority viz: - Commission, Backing, Confidence and Influence.  The one who has the key is the authorized one.  So according to the above scripture, Jesus is saying, “I am the authorized one.”

 Let us consider the four components of authority with regards to the use of the Name.

Commission

 Authority without a commission is meaningless.  Because the commission is the responsibility.  You cannot get authority without responsibility.  Authority without a responsibility leads to irresponsibility.  Jesus gave the commission and the power to fulfill that commission and that is the use of His Name.

And Jesus came and spoke unto them saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost  Matthew 28:18-19

17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hunt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.Mark 16:17-18

Jesus commissioned us in His Name.  He gave us His Name as the authority.  The power of the Great Commission is in the Name.  Jesus with His resurrected body is there at the right hand of the Father.
