About the Author

Foreword

This small book written by Rev. Dr. Patience Azike on “Your Ministry: Money-Oriented or soul-Oriented?” is a soul searching message to all sincere ministers of the gospel, to examine their motive in the work of the ministry and to repent and make restitution.

The author, is passionate about being a true servant of God, who will place soul winning as priority in her ministry. She also encourages us to keep trusting the God of our calling to provide for us, and the ministry.

I therefore ask men and women of God to support the ministry of the author in buying copies as gift to other ministers of God.

Rev. A. O. Folarin

District Superintendent

Oyo District, Assemblies of God Nigeria.

Preface

On the 19th January 2010, I was in a night vision, where I saw the Lord. He told me not to join the wagon of ministers whose ministries are money oriented. He showed me men and women of God whose main motives of organizing programmes, revivals, opening of churches and prayer ministries, hospitals and many others that my mortal mind cant remember, are to make money and not to win souls into His kingdom.

He showed me their records. I saw men and women carrying bags on their heads. One thing was synonymous with them, they were terrified with fear. When I looked at the face of the master, our Lord Jesus Christ, there was fire in His eyes and fear came upon me. He told me “Daughter, look inside their bags”. He further asked, what can you see?” One of the men of God unzipped his bag and behold, I saw ashes in the bag he was carrying on his head.

I said to the Lord, “I see Ashes.” He replied, “This is their reward. For every man’s work will pass through the fire. Some works are of wood, some hay, some silver and some gold. Dont join them.” I replied, “Lord I only want to do monthly program in my church, souls will be converted.” There will be deliverance programs and we will raise funds to build you a house,” I told him about others, who were doing programs in their churches; 21days, 40days etc programs. But He replied “I DID NOT SEND THEM” they did not seek my face. It is for their belly. They are money oriented, buying cars and building houses for themselves. It is not for soul winning”. I started crying and promised not to join them.

The big question is this: who are you, man of God? Are you a money-oriented minister or a soul-oriented minister? Why are you leaving that church? Why do you want to open your ministry?

Why are you handing the church of God over to your wife or son? Is it God that asked you to do it so? Is your ministry soul-oriented or money-oriented?

Repent today, the Lord Jesus Christ the owner of the work is coming soon.

Food for the belly, belly for the grave. You will give account of your work on earth.

Dr. Patience Azike

Chapter 1

Soul-Oriented Mission

Matthew 10: 1 —5

And when He had called unto Him His twelve Disciples for instructions and a special mission, He gave them power against unclean spirit, to cast them out and to heal all manner of sicknesses and all manner of diseases. and all power comes from God. The names of the twelve Apostles are these:

The first, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother. James, the son of Zebedee and John his brother. Philip and Bartholomew. Thomas and Matthew the Publican (i.e Tax Collector), James the son of Alphaeus and Lebbaeus whose surname was Thaddaeus. Simon the Canaanite(the Zealot ) and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. Eleven were Galileans and one, Judas Iscariot, was a Judean.

THE MISSION OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES

These twelve, Jesus sent forth and commanded them, Saying, “Go not into the way of the Gentiles. And into any city of the Samaritans, do not enter. Do not cross the boundaries. Israel must be addressed first.
