They walked into the space diner hoping they would go unnoticed. A little hard when a lilac-blond female Virim warrior close on seven feet in height is accompanied by a Terran male companion of a dark masculine beauty setting every female heart aflutter within his immediate presence.

Carefully inching their spectacularly tall selves into a secluded table they gazed at the holomenu revolving in the center of the table. An elderly couple at the nearby table ignored them as they discussed suggestions on what might suit their mature palates.

“Fake food for a fake meal,” muttered Kerrik to his mate affiliate.

Talana raised a pale brow at his comment. “Sometimes the fake can be as good as the real thing.”

He laughed. “Next you are going to tell me that sex can be faked.” His dimple creased his cheek at the incredulity as he concentrated on the holomenu.

Her sly smile deepened, making her deep blue eyes dance with mischief. “Would you know the difference?”

“Of course I would, especially where you are concerned.” He keyed in his choice of food, waiting for Talana to make hers. Seconds after both selections had been input bowls of steamy broth appeared before them.
