“Amanda, can you go walk the dog?” Amanda’s mom asked.

«Αμάντα, μπορείς να βγάλεις τον σκύλο βόλτα;» ρώτησε η μαμά της.

“Not now. I’ll do it later,” Amanda replied.

«Όχι τώρα. Θα το κάνω αργότερα» απάντησε η Αμάντα.

“When will you help me make Dad’s birthday card?” asked her little sister, running into Amanda’s room. “I’ve been waiting all day."

«Πότε θα με βοηθήσεις να φτιάξω την κάρτα γενεθλίων του μπαμπά;» ρώτησε η μικρή αδερφή της Αμάντα,  τρέχοντας στο δωμάτιό της. «Σε περίμενα όλη μέρα».

“His birthday isn’t for another week!” Amanda replied, sighing, not even turning her head. “We can do it tomorrow.”

«Τα γενέθλιά του είναι την άλλη εβδομάδα!» απάντησε η Αμάντα αναστενάζοντας, χωρίς καν να γυρίσει το κεφάλι της. «Μπορούμε να την φτιάξουμε αύριο».

Later, her little brother came in too. “Amanda, can you read me a book?” he asked. “I love it when you read for me. Especially this story about pirates.”

Αργότερα ήρθε και ο μικρός της αδερφός. «Αμάντα μπορείς να μου διαβάσεις ένα βιβλίο;» ζήτησε. «Μου αρέσει πολύ όταν μου διαβάζεις. Ειδικά αυτή την ιστορία με τους πειρατές».

“I don’t feel like it right now. Maybe another day,” Amanda said.

«Δεν έχω όρεξη τώρα. Ίσως μια άλλη μέρα» είπε η Αμάντα.
