“Amanda, can you go walk the dog?” Amanda’s mom asked.
“अमैंडा, क्या तुम कुत्ते को टहलाने ले जा सकती हो?” अमैंडा की माँ ने उससे पूछा।
“Not now. I’ll do it later,” Amanda replied.
“अभी नहीं माँ। मैं उसे थोड़ी देर बाद ले जाती हूँ ना,” अमैंडा ने जवाब दिया।
“When will you help me make Dad’s birthday card?” asked her little sister, running into Amanda’s room. “I’ve been waiting all day."
“पापा के जन्मदिन का कार्ड बनाने में तुम मेरी मदद कब करोगी?” अमैंडा की छोटी बहन भागती हुई उसके कमरे में आई और उससे पूछा। “मैं पूरे दिन तुम्हारा इंतज़ार करती रही।”
“His birthday isn’t for another week!” Amanda replied, sighing, not even turning her head. “We can do it tomorrow.”
“उनका जन्मदिन अभी एक हफ़्ते में तो नहीं है ना!” अमैंडा ने जम्हाई लेते हुए जवाब दिया। उसने बहन की ओर सिर घुमाकर देखा तक नहीं। “हम इसे कल भी बना सकते हैं।”
Later, her little brother came in too. “Amanda, can you read me a book?” he asked. “I love it when you read for me. Especially this story about pirates.”
थोड़ी देर बाद उसका छोटा भाई भी वहाँ आ गया। “अमैंडा, क्या तुम मुझे एक किताब पढ़कर सुनाओगी?” उसने पूछा। “जब तुम मुझे किताब पढ़कर सुनाती हो ना, तो मुझे बहुत मज़ा आता है। खासकर यह समुद्री डाकुओं वाली कहानी!”
“I don’t feel like it right now. Maybe another day,” Amanda said.
