“Amanda, can you go walk the dog?” Amanda’s mom asked.

“아만다, 강아지 산책 좀 시켜 주겠니?” 아만다의 엄마가 물었어요.

“Not now. I’ll do it later,” Amanda replied.

“지금 말고요. 나중에 할게요.” 아만다가 대답했어요.

“When will you help me make Dad’s birthday card?” asked her little sister, running into Amanda’s room. “I’ve been waiting all day."

“아빠 생신 카드 만드는 거 언제 도와줄 거야?” 여동생이 아만다 방으로 뛰어 들어오며 물어봅니다. “나 종일 기다렸단 말이야.”

“His birthday isn’t for another week!” Amanda replied, sighing, not even turning her head. “We can do it tomorrow.”

“아빠 생신은 한 주도 넘게 남았잖아!” 아만다는 심지어 고개도 돌리지 않은 채 한숨을 쉬며 대답했어요.

“내일 하면 돼.”

Later, her little brother came in too. “Amanda, can you read me a book?” he asked. “I love it when you read for me. Especially this story about pirates.”

잠시 후, 남동생도 방에 들어왔어요. “누나, 책 읽어줄래?” 동생은 물었어요. “난 누나가 날 위해 책 읽어주는 게 정말 좋아. 특히 해적에 대한 이 이야기 말이야.”

“I don’t feel like it right now. Maybe another day,” Amanda said.

“지금 그럴 기분이 아니야. 다른 날 해줄게.” 아만다는 말했어요.
