Beschreibung

This “Bedtime Stories” contains three stories which are all moral based. I am sure children would really enjoy reading them. This story book is dedicated to my mom for her love and care she had managed amidst her busy schedule, and the time she had beautifully managed to tell me the bedtime stories. Thank you for being with me. Indeed the stories in this book are told by her.

The Philanthropist

In one of the most prosperous towns, there lived three men who were great friends. The trio occasionally gathered in each other’s place in turn.

One day, a hungry beggar arrived at the door of Mr. Jacob, the then the grammar enthusiast.

“Kind sir, please give this starving man a morsel. I’ve not eaten for many days.”

“Why do you waste your time begging?”

“But sir, what else can I do?” the beggar replied in his defense.

“You illiterate young man, learn grammar!” said the grammar enthusiast.

“But…but...sir, I can’t eat grammar!”

“Ignorant man! Learning the grammar will solve all your problems!”

He slammed the door right on the beggar’s face. The beggar tried his luck at the next door.

“Kind sir, it’s a beggar. I have been starving for the past many days. Spare me with any leftover food, sir.”

“Aha! Poor man, I can give you some food, but you must first prove that you are hungry.”

“Oh, kind sir, my stomach aches and I am weak!”

“Huh, your stomachache must be due to overeating and indigestion. Now show me the medical certificate of your hunger.”

In no way that the man could spare anything, the beggar left the place thinking this man was worse than the first one. He then approached at the third door.

“Good sir, please give me something to eat. I can’t go a few steps further.”
