Big Black Conference

My feet ached as I squirmed around in my airplane seat.  I was never a fan of flying but this conference was a requirement for me to attend.  As the plane finally came to a halt, I sighed in relief.

I watched as some people stood up, readying to grab their luggage above them.  One of the flight attendants stood up and waved them down as another grabbed the intercom.

“Please remain seated until the seatbelt sign is off,” she ordered.

I watched as the people standing groaned as they sat back down in their seats.  A small smile crept up on my lips.  I could relate to their annoyance and need to get off the plane.

Phones buzzed to life, filling the plane with sounds of cluttered music and vibrations.  I was actually glad that phones needed to be turned off on the plane and wished that the rule to keep them off until you were off the plane was still in place.  I couldn’t imagine how annoying it would be to be on a plane ride with people constantly chatting and phones buzzing away.

The seatbelt light finally turned off a high pitched ring signaled to people that it was okay to start getting up.  I stood up, opened the luggage space and grabbed my bag.  It was only supposed to be a two week trip but I wasn’t sure what the weather was going to be like.

With a grunt, I pulled at it and sighed as it barely budged.  It wasn’t just the weight of the bag, it was my height that was causing problems.  As I was about to try again, someone tapped me on the shoulder.

“Do you need help?”  A tall, black man asked, his voice low.

I stared up at him and smiled.  He was extremely well dressed, wearing a suit that was built to fit his wide, muscular frame.  His shiny bald head easily hit the ceiling of the plane.  With one hand, he grabbed my bag and pulled it down effortlessly.

“Thank you!”

“No problem,” he replied.

I wondered if he was a basketball or football player, but figured it couldn’t be, considering we were in economy class.  Not even economy plus.

He walked off after giving me a nod, carrying just a shoulder bag.  I extended the handle on my bag and dragged it along as I made my way off the plane.  It was my first time in Dallas, but it wasn’t my first time at one of these conferences.

I figured I’d join the first meeting sessions, sign in, grab the free lunch and then head back to the hotel to nap.  The sessions were normally boring, and non-informative, with a lot of sales.  A lot of the presenters usually ended up shilling a product they used at the company, and of course, a representative of said product was in the session as a participant.

As I waited patiently for the line of people to move, my phone rang and I quickly answered.

“Hello?”

“Hey Allison, I’m guessing you landed?”  My boss asked.

“Literally, just landed,” I replied.

“Look at that, great timing, right?  Hey, one of the external auditors is pestering me about some kind of discrepancy with accounts payable, do you know what he’s talking about?”

I sighed and looked up as the line of people moved forward bit by bit.

“Is it that one kid?  Tony or whatever his name was?”

“Tom.”

“Right, Tom,” I repeated as I rolled my eyes.

I worked in the audit department of my company, a senior, waiting to be a manager.  It had been a year since they promised me a promotion but here I was, still working like a manager but not given the title of one.  Our company had hired an external audit firm for some random project and instead of getting so called ‘experts’ in the field, we ended up with a bunch of college grads.

One of them was a young upstart named Tom.  He was quite the annoying one, finding problems with numbers that didn’t exist.  In fact, he almost wrote us up for a discrepancy and when I had to teach him how math works, he finally stopped writing his so called finding.

“Just ignore him for the next two weeks, or have him email me.  I thought we cleared this out,” I replied.

“You sure?  He’s been mentioning how he’s going to bring it up to Jake,” my boss replied.

“Jake?  Oh God, that stupid little prick?  Just have Tom email me,” I replied with a sigh.

Jake was somehow worse than Tom.  He was a manager and absolutely clueless.  I had thought the college grads they assigned to us were horrible but Jake, he took the cake.

His father was a partner at the company, in a different office, which allowed Jake to move up through the ranks fairly fast.  He was a young kid, who most likely partied hard, but didn’t work hard.  Any time anyone asked him a question, he would just nod and repeat the question, but not have an answer.

“So you’re sure it’s all good?”

“Yes, Jake and Tom are idiots.  Ignore them.  If they go to the CFO, I’ll-”

Before I could finish my sentence, I ran smack into something.  In my anger, I had stopped paying attention to where I was walking.  I nearly dropped my phone and fumbled it around in my hand as I looked up.

“Are you okay?”

I smiled as I noticed it was the tall black man again.  He had felt like a wall when I ran into him.

“I’m so sorry!  I was too caught up in my call,” I apologized.

“No problem, happens to me all the time,” he replied.

“Allison?  Alliiiiiiiiiison...”

I stared at my phone and shook my head.

“My boss,” I whispered.

The black man smiled as I turned my attention back to my phone.

“Look, just tell them to email me.  I have to go,” I said as I hung up.

“Nothing like the boss calling you right when you land,” the black man commented.

“I know!  Again, I’m so sorry about that!  I was just getting so caught up,” I said.

“No problem, seriously.  Name’s Jamal,” he said as he introduced himself and extended a hand.

“Allison.”

“So, what brings you to Dallas?”  He asked as we began walking in the same direction.

“Some stupid conference,” I replied.

He paused and pulled something out of his pocket.  It was a brochure, a very familiar brochure.

“You’re going to this too?”  He asked.

“Oh, that’s it!  Are you an auditor too?  Oh God, don’t tell me you work for the Big Four,” I replied.

“Ha!  Used to.  I’m an IT Audit Director now of a small little shop over in California.  They just went public,” he answered with a laugh.

“Oh, IT audit, the black box,” I said.

“Nah, it really is the simplest of audits,” Jamal laughed.

“Hey...”  I paused, briefly biting my lower lip.  “Are you staying at the hotel for the event?”

“Sure am.”

“Want to share a cab?”  I inquired.

“Works for me.  Anything to keep our costs down, right?”

We both laughed as we walked through the baggage claim area to pick up Jamal's bag before heading out of the airport.  I think we both immediately regretted it, as a powerful, dry, and hot gust of air blew by.  The cool, air conditioned airport right behind us, the automated doors sliding closed.

“Wow... this heat,” I said.

“Yeah, this is... whew,” Jamal agreed.

We waited in line for a taxi while talking about our frustrations at work.  As we moved forward, our topics shifted, from professional life to more personal questions.

“Anyone waiting at home for you?”  He asked.

“Sadly no, I just got out of a long term relationship.”

“Oh, ouch, sorry.”

“No need to be.  He was a jerk anyway.  How about you?” I asked.

"Single and ready to mingle," he replied with a wink.

I laughed as a cab pulled up, ready for us.  Jamal grabbed my luggage and helped to place it into the trunk of the taxi.  We both hopped in the back and he handed the driver the location details.

We continued to chat as the cab made its way through traffic to our hotel.  I was amazed by how many lanes the highways had in Texas.  Even exits off of highways led to other freeways with just as many lanes.

"Do you have a plan on which conferences you're going to?"  Jamal asked.

"Probably just the morning ones.  Going to sign in and then listen to some boring session and head back to the room," I replied.

"That sounds like an amazing plan," he commented.

The cab came to a bit of a harsh stop in front of the hotel.  Jamal hopped out first and held the door open for me to follow.  After grabbing our luggage we headed in to check in.

"Are ya'll together?"  The man at the front desk asked.

"Hm?  Oh, no, we're here for the conference, but separate," I replied.

"Okay ma'am, I can help you up here.  Kelly, can you help this gentleman here?"  The man at the front desk requested.

A blonde teen stepped out from the back and walked over to the open computer.  Jamal gave me a small nod and walked over to her.

"Are there a lot of people here for the conference?"  I inquired.

"Yes ma'am, packed to the brim with auditors," he replied with a smile.

I laughed as I waited for him to look up my information.  After taking a quick check, he looked up at me and I handed him a credit card.

"I know, I know, incidentals," I said.

He nodded and typed in my credit card number.  I glanced over at Jamal, who was looking at me.  My face blushed as we met eyes.

He towered over the short blonde teen across from him.  I couldn't believe he was completely ignoring the girl at the front desk to stare at me.  He waved and handed his credit card to her as he glanced at his watch.

I wondered what it would feel like to be held in his big ebony arms.  He clearly packed on a lot of muscle beneath his suit.

"Ma'am?"

I blinked a couple of times and looked over at the man at the front desk.  He was staring at me with my card in hand.  I wondered how long I had been zoning out.

"Oh, thank you," I said as I grabbed my card.

"You're welcome.  And here is your room key, you are in room 617, the elevator is to your left and down that hall.  Do you need a spare key?"  He asked.

"No, I think I'm..."

I paused as I glanced over at Jamal.  A part of me wondered if I should have one just in case.  I quickly shook off the thought and looked back at the front desk clerk.

"I'm good," I finished.

He nodded, typed something into his computer and nodded.

"Okay, then you are set to go.  Have a nice stay," he said.

I grabbed my key card and walked towards Jamal.  My loins burned as I got closer to him, my heart beating faster with each step.

"Hey Jamal, it was nice meeting you.  I'll see you at the conference?"  I asked.

"Oh, sure.  You want to grab a drink after you get adjusted a bit?"

I smiled and nodded.

"Alright, meet back down here in an hour?  They have a pool here, I want to get a quick lap in," he said.

"Sounds like a plan to me."

***

The past hour seemed to take forever as I lounged around in the room.  I had the TV on but I couldn't stop thinking about Jamal.  It had been a while since I had dated someone.  After breaking up with my ex, I had tried to keep a low profile, forget about taping for a bit.

Of course, trying to push off dating also meant that I strayed away from feeling a man's touch.  My body was beginning to crave the touch of another human being.  I glanced up at the clock and decided to head out, even if it was bit before an hour had passed.

I stared down at my phone as I waited for the elevator.  It dinged as it arrived and I looked up as the doors slid open.  I gasped as I saw Jamal standing in the elevator in just his swimsuit.

"Oh, hey," he said as he looked up.

I was speechless as my eyes danced around his mostly nude body.  His muscular frame seemed to look even more impressive due to his dark ebony skin.  His body glistened under the bright lights of the elevator, small drops of water running down him.

I froze in place as I looked down between his legs.  His tight fitting swimsuit wrapped around his lower body, right until his upper thighs.  Right alongside his muscular upper thigh was a thick, long rod of some sort.

"Uh... hey," I finally replied.

"You're on the sixth floor too?"  He asked as he stepped out.

"Uh... yeah," I replied, my face red.

My eyes were glued to his crotch, trying to figure out if the rod next to his thigh was actually his manhood.  It was much too thick and long to be it.  I began to wonder if it was something in his pocket, but realized there were no pockets in his swimsuit.

"Hey!  Eyes up here," he said as he noticed where I was staring.

"Oh, sorry," I said sheepishly.

"Why don't you come on by and wait in my room?  I won't take that long, just need to grab my clothes," he said as he began walking down the hall.

"Uh...  Okay," I agreed as my feet began moving on their own.

I stared at his tight ass as he led the way.  He glanced back and smiled.

"I know what you're thinking and I just have one word for you," he said.

"What?"

"Shrinkage.  That pool was cold," he replied.

"Huh?  What?  Shrinkage?"

Jamal laughed and turned, pointing at his crotch.  My eyes, again, landed on the thick rod residing next to his right thigh.

"I saw you staring and judging me.  I know this isn't that big, but when it's cold, it does shrink," he said.

"What?  No, I wasn't..."

He was right that I was staring down at his crotch, but it wasn't because I thought it was small.  No, it was far from it.

"It's alright, women have judged me before.  Just remember that size isn't everything," he said as he turned the corner.

"No, seriously, that is not what I was thinking," I replied.

"Uh huh, sure, righ [...]
