Paco was 7 years old. He was new in the school.
Paco had dark skin, and some of his classmates teased him with that. But they teased him even more because he was much smaller and weaker than the other pupils in his class. Even the girls of his own age were much bigger and stronger than him. They called him “tiny tot”.
Paco hated when his classmates teased him. He just wanted to leave school and go home to his room and lock the door. Paco spent almost all his spare-time in his room. Here he felt safe.
The walls in his room were filled with posters with Bruce Lee. Paco was a fan of Bruce Lee. Paco owned many videos with Bruce Lee movies. Bruce Lee was a Kung Fu master who died many years ago. He was Chinese and not very tall. He was the best to do karate in the whole world. He was a legend.
Paco also had a poster with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had the biggest muscles in the whole world.,
Pacos best friend was his dog “Bruce”. Paco had tormented his father and mother to get a dog. His parents told him that it was very difficult to take care of a dog.
It must be taken out for a walk many times every day. Maybe it has to come out for a pee even at nights. They told him that the life without a dog was much easier.
Paco did not care about his parent’s objections. He wanted his own dog. And on his 7 years birthday his parents gave him a small puppy. It was a male dog and his father told him that the puppy was a genuine Heinz 57.
“I will name him Bruce Lee”, Paco said.
“No – look!” his father said. “There is not much Bruce Lee in that dog. I think we shall name him “tiny tot””. He didn’t know that Paco was called “tiny tot” at school.
“NO”, – cried Paco. “My dogs name is Bruce Lee.”
Then they all agreed to name the dog “Bruce”.
This name fitted the dog well. It grew fast and soon became a bruiser. It jumped forward when it met other dogs.
Bruce grew and grew and grew. When he was 6 months old he was the same size as Paco. Paco walked with Bruce in the morning, and when he came home from school, and after they had eaten supper. And he walked with him just before bedtime.
