CHAPTER ONE

Eudora was pissed. Really, really pissed, like her cranial implants about to burst off into steam or something.

Two days. Two fucking days, two ridiculously expensive days, wasted. She had checked in, gotten ready in the lavish hotel room, then grabbed her purse, her phone and her selfie drone and strolled around the hotel to 'accidentally,' with air quotes, bump into Mari.

But nooo.

She wasn't anywhere to be seen. Eudora stalked her online, awaiting her every move. She posted something from the spa, so Eudora hurried back into her room, grabbed her towel and went into the misty place which would definitely seep into her servos and she'd be regretting later. Mari was nowhere to be found, she must have gotten out and then posted the pic.

Dammit!

Why couldn't she be one of those modern influencers who streamed every little thing they did 24/7, like Eudora was?

She went to the pool.

Mari posted a pic from the tennis court. Fuckity fuck-fuck! Eudora dashed back to her room, put on some shorts and a comfortable t-shirt and went to the tennis court to accidentally stumble on her online friend. They had spoken a few times online, both in comments and in private messages. Mari wasn't Eudora's style, she was a stunning blonde with long legs that she showed off splayed on the hoods of expensive cars, and she was into fitness, gym and healthy living like tea detoxes.

Eww.

Eudora's idea of a workout was having vigorous sex in a tough Kama Sutra position. Her idea of healthy living was not having enough cash to buy her own coffee so she needed to smooch off her neighbour, and her idea of getting fit legs was not having enough cash to get an autotaxi so she walked everywhere she went to.

She had run to the tennis court, looked around, and once again, Mari was nowhere to be found. "Which racket do you prefer?" the employee asked her, offering a selection. She, of course, didn't bring her own like the pros over there to the side. But the hotel offered everything you might need, and if they didn't have it, they could get it for you.

"Uh, this one," Eudora pointed at a large one at random.

The employee raised his eyebrow. "It's a bit large for a lady."

"I'm a cyborg, pal," Eudora said and grabbed the far too large and far too heavy tennis racket with a frown and a swipe. She went inside a netted area that had a machine that spat out tennis balls at you. Eudora had no fucking clue how to play tennis, but she could swing a racket for a few minutes.

It was a good way to vent her anger. The machine spat out hairy yellow balls at her and she slapped them away, not bothering with her footwork, her angle, nor her technique.

She must have been really funny to look at because two guests stopped their match and stared at her, whispering to one another.

Eudora ignored them and slapped another hairy yellow ball in the air.

This trip was getting to be an epic failure.

She had no idea why, but it seemed that the hotel staff was being extra nice to her. When she told so to Veronica on the phone, she snorted and told her that she was probably not used to luxury and getting pampered like that. But Eudora didn't know, she was getting a weird vibe. The employees kept bringing her towels and sparkling water and complemented her during her entire stay.

"Come on..." she smiled at the receptionist girl, turning on the charm. She leaned forward over the counter and squeezed her boobs together. She checked out the girl's boob, reading the name tag. Her voice came out like a pout. "Andriana. I looked and I can't find my friend anywhere! Anywhere I tell you! I was really excited to meet Mari here but there's been some sort of miscommunication and I can't find her at all. Can't you look in that computer of yours and tell me where she might be? She'll be really happy to see me, I swear." She batted her eyelashes at the pretty girl.
