Hopefully there'll be a few more vegetarians on the menu by the time this one's ingested into the milieu. We want equality for minorities, but who's going in to bat for the pigs? There needs to be a constant stream of criticism constantly pelting away at these bastards just to get them to pay attention. "Feast Day" pulls no punches, taking aim at farmers, politicians, and meat-eaters in general, and delivering a blow for the little guys, the pigs, who's good karma collectively far surpasses that of humanity per capita. If you're not a vegan, then you're not safe; and if you eat bacon, you've got porcine DNA!  This story can raise awareness and save a few innocent bystanders from those bloodletting murderers who live off the suffering and misery caused by the current consumer-capitalist paradigm which is, as we all know, goes without saying, ludicrous, preposterous when it comes to looking out for the long-term sustainability of species.  But one person CAN make a difference. Change starts on an individual level. How can you expect the government to stop going to war when you wage war on yourself and in your own house every day? This story gives them a much needed kick in the ginger, lacking the ethics to defend themselves from just such an attack as they do. In this Merry Melody set on Mars, Mayfair Pig comes into his own, leading the revolution against the farm's human masters and setting free the rainbow chicken hybrids that have been engineered there.

Merry Melodies Presents: Feast Day, starring Mayfair Pig

Farmer Joe was having some kind of a dream. Genevieve slept beside him. Rodney Rooster, let rip with an almighty crow from the hen house. “It’s Feast Day!” said Joe, jumping out of bed. He sucked in a big one and saluted.

On the veranda, he took a moment to take the morning in. In the sky, a large bulbous orb of water in the shape of a tear glimmered. Into the barn, Danny, his son, prodded the donkey with a goad. Joe pulled a lever. A trapdoor popped open. He descended the stairs and flicked on the light. There they were. Never before had there been chickens like these.

In the pig-pen, he spread out a layer of slops for Mayfair. “Dig in,” he said. Mayfair tucked in with his snout and looked at the tear drop, which twinkled in his eye, as he chewed. The squalor from the hen house arose again, but he didn’t hear it. He was deaf to the incessant bouts of squawking.

“Feast day!” gobbled Rodney Rooster scandalously in the hen house, strutting back and forth. “How much longer will we continue this ridiculous charade? Catering for the debased ethics of humanity? Lulled into this apathetic stupor? What have we become? Our ancestors lived free, in a world where animals and humans were on equal terms. The way they treat us, it just enrages me so much that I, I, I...Cockadoodledoo!”
