This literary work is conformed by seven chapters, two maxims and a personal thought about our brief permanence on a planet in a fragile balance. Certain geographical and cultural useful hints place us in the events of these stories. They could happen in the depths of Brazil, in the ancient monasteries scattered all around the eternal and far Burma, in the gray streets of the know industrial Liverpool, or explicitly in the extensive cliffs of Puerto Madryn, Province of Chubut (Argentina). The meeting (fate?), the action (the art!) of letting go of what is no longer necessary in our lives, the flexibility before the sudden changes, trusting the new possible directions of the journey through the path of our human experience. The connection with the beauty of perfection through the look of another being (a wolf in search of her cubs), or through the deep sounds emitted by whales ("they know about me, they know it all"). These short narrations, contain elements of all that is profound and true, and resonates in the underlying. Short stories that "have nothing to do with self-help books, these are just stories, looks and feelings with the desire to be shared with you", says the author. MARCOS ROCCA

The fire burned and its enormous, brilliant eyes travelled in memories, looking for answers in the sparks from the firewood.
He was savoring the remains of a stew when someone knocked on the door.
–Good evening, Manuel! Sorry for disturbing you at dinner, I just wanted to remind you that tomorrow, early in the morning we will depart to go hunting. Come on, it will do you good! The men will be on the hill before dawn. They will carry everything necessary for the next few days, and also keep in mind that the money, you know, is not bad at all.
–Okay, I’ll only go, because you insist. You know what I think of those men.
–Well okay, my friend. See you tomorrow at dawn. Have a good rest.
–You too.
The sun was not up yet. The town looked covered in a gray blanket of mist, lost among the stone houses.
The mountains were not snowy yet, that winter arrived later than expected.
He was wondering what he was doing there, when his friend surprised him and woke him up with a bump on his back.
–Good morning Manuel! I am glad you came. The rest of the wolf hunters will arrive soon. They are just finishing fixing the traps. They will be quiet days, no rain is expected and the first cubs have been seen already, so they say.
–Felix is not here yet?
–Well yes, he is further down there. He wouldn’t miss a hunt for the sake of being away from home, –He said with a laugh. -
–You are right. At night he came to my house and he was enthusiastic about the hunt. He spent weeks insisting that he would come, –He snorted with a smile. –I think he would become a farmer as long as it keep him away from the kids.
–Hah! You know him better than I do.
A group of men appeared through the mist.
The sound of the heavy footsteps, the exaggerated laughters made known of the presence of hunters.
–Good morning! –He heard a voice saying. –It will be good hunting days. Two cubs have been seen near the town, so their mother is presumed to be walking nearby and their caves are not far from here. One hundred and sixty nickels will be paid as a reward per adult and thirty-two per cub. No deaths of cattle have been announced yet, except for my specimens, but here we are to protect our territory. They will be very smart, effective and, above all, they are very friendly with each other and will defend themselves. Pay attention, think like them, it will not be difficult for you. –He snorted with a brute laugh. –
The wolf hunters left first, losing themselves in the thick fog when the first rays of sun were just rising.
Further back, some of the inexperienced hunters followed looking to make an easy profit.
Not for a moment would he have imagined that he was riding the path of his destiny. Not for a moment did he think what might happen during those days.
He just moved forward, one step after another unaware where his feet would take him.
Ahead, the most important thing in his life was waiting for him. The event he was about to live, would mark him forever.
–Over here! A rabbit! –It was heard ahead, after a long walk. -
The rabbit was shattered, all bitten.
–This is clearly the work of a wolf. Or rather, a she-wolf. She has left it chopped for her cubs. That’s a good sign. There will be a reward for everyone this season.
