Meet Adriana, to some known as Addy or A, not your average girl from the BX. Nice brown skin, light brown eyes and curves for days. Did I mention she was about 5'6 with silky jet black hair down her back? You know beautiful thick ass big girl from The View (the Soundview Section of the Bronx that is). She was young coming up but she had the body of an older chick in which you had to ask to see her ID, cause when she told her age you would of thought she was lying. She lived with her moms and she was the only child for a while. She went to school aroun' the block and didn't really care for drama. She usually hung out with the older chicks, guess that's why no one ever really knew her age. Her moms really didn't like her friends but Addy didn't care.
One of her friends was Shanelle, light skin pretty little bitch about 5'4 with those bright hazel eyes with a fresh weave and a fatty. She wasn't really into Niggas though, cause she was strictly about her cash. Busing a few licks here and there, nothin' too crazy but enough for Shanelle to feel like she was hood rich. Then it was Mona 5'7 with a shoulder length dirty blonde bob, gray eyes, petite body but with some nice ass curves. She was Addy's Best Bitch, straight entrepreneur, stayed with a job and had a little side hustle. She ain't rock with too many females but Addy. It was like they were made for each other, they just clicked. Mona lived in The Hill a few blocks from Addy. She really wasn't no project type, but she held her own.
You already know about Quan so let's get back to the bar scene. While I sat at the bar and ordered a Patron Margarita, I told Nelle to watch my cup while I went to the ladies room. When I got up to walk my pretty thick ass to the ladies room to check my makeup I had to make sure everything was in place, especially my lips. My lips had to be on fleet, because they were one of my greatest assets. I added some lip gloss to make sure they were popping but nothing too crazy. I walked back to the bar and asked the bartender, where did my drink and friends go? She stated that your friend took it to the table. When I looked over I saw that they had a table and to my surprise Quan was the one watching my drink. I really didn't play that game of guys watching my drinks so I ordered another one and sat down. When I sat down, Quan passed me my drink but I said “no thank you, no disrespect, but I ordered another one.” He said "Ms. Lady, I'm not your average Joe. Hun, I ain't like most dudes and I definitely wouldn't slip nothing in your drink, but no problem. I respected your move, love." My drink came and we all sat for a couple hours telling made jokes. In the midst of having fun, Quan jumped up and stopped laughing and he suddenly had to leave to handle some business. He told everyone goodnight and like that, he was gone. I was like damn; I kind of enjoyed his company and didn't want to make it seem so obvious. But the suspense had me going cause in the back of my mind, I was wondering, what had him rushing. Something about him was intriguing and exciting. After I pondered some reasons he had to leave, my thoughts were once again drawn to the company of my friends. I then looked at my phone and noticed the time, shoot, it was getting late and I had class and work in the a.m. I asked for the check and Mona and Nelle questioned why I was going home so early on a Thursday night. I responded by saying, "you know how my Friday’s are, I got mad stuff to do." The girls left and I was still waiting for my bill. I got up wondering, where the hell is my check? I got shit to do. The waitress then came over and apologized for the wait and stated that your boyfriend paid the bill. I looked puzzled and said “excuse me” she then stated the gentleman that left paid the bill. I responded hastily like, “thank you but that wasn't my boyfriend.” As I was heading out, I heard a voice say “don't leave yet.” I turned and Quan was at the bar. I said, “Huh!” I kept walking to go outside, playing the shy role. He then yelled "Adriana, listen Hun, its late so let me give you a ride home.” I looked at him in a daze because I couldn't believe how handsome he was. Inside I was like bitch snap out of it. So, I then declined his offer, knowing good and well I would love to get in his car. I told him, "nah it's cool, I'll catch a cab.” He said, "Cool, I'll stand here with you until you get one." We waited in silence for a few minutes. He then offered to call his peeps who worked for a cab service. I looked at him and responded, "Yeah right, so you can know where I live." He said, "Sweetheart, I really just want to make sure you get home safe. That's it!" I looked suspiciously at him but it was something about Quan that made me trust him. I was standing thinking to myself, like how bitch. How you gonna trust a Nigga you just met but the other part of me was like shut up and the other part was like take your chances. So I was like alright call your friend. It was about five minutes tops and his friend was there. He opened my door, said what's up to his boy, I got in, he paid the fare and then told me he would see me soon. I gave the cab driver my address, sat back in the seat with my head leaning back smiling and wondering who is this Q. I hope this cab driver isn't catching me with this big ass cool-aid smile. But damn, I couldn't get him off my mind and I didn't understand why. Ughhhh. But I would soon find out why.
I was home in no time thanking his friend while I closed the cab door behind me. I got in my apartment and put my phone on the charger and ran the shower and of course my mother was yelling as soon as I walked in the bathroom. She was like, “you were with them girls?” I said “yeah ma” but I wasn’t really listening cause Q was on my mind. I hopped in the shower and my phone started ringing so I hurried up out to retrieve my phone. I noticed that it was a 631 area code, unrecognizable to my cell phone so I didn’t pay it no mind. If anyone wanted to contact me, they needed to be saved to my contacts. If it was important they would leave a message. It probably was someone calling from one of those stupid ass companies trying to get me to complete a survey. I hopped back into the shower to finish what I started, so that I could think about that fine ass Q while I pleasured myself.
When I got out I saw that I had three messages. When I checked my voicemail, I could hear the other person on the line say,
Hey Beautiful!
It's Quan
I know you are wondering how I got your number.
Just making sure you made it home safe my love TTYL.
I was smiling so hard not even caring how he got the number. Texting him back wasn't an option, girl didn’t want to look thirsty. I said I'll save it for the morning. My phone started ringing again and I was like, is he calling again, but when I looked down at the phone, it was Mona.
Hey Beautiful
I could hear her crying on the other end. I couldn’t really understand her and it must be something serious because it was 2:30 a.m.
I said, “Mona slow down what happened?”
She said, “A come to my house please.”
I threw something on and snuck out. I know my mom’s would have been upset if she saw me leave. She definitely would have not let me leave to help Mona. Everyone knows she didn’t care for my friends. Anyways Mona was my good friend and she needed me.
I called a cab from the front of the building. I really wasn’t up front in the beginning; Mona had a two year old daughter named Melody. In high school Mona met this dude name Jeremiah. He was popular and handsome. You know the type. That dude all the girls wanted. Mona thought she lucked up when Jeremiah started paying her some attention. Everything was good and Mona was in love, but shit hit the fan when Mona found out she was pregnant. The cheating started, then Jeremiah controlling everything she did, and then the abuse. It started out verbally and then became physical.
