Goodbye Moon, Hello Sunshine, was created by Sunshine Huntin, during a period of time when she was suffering from undiagnosed PTSD. After living for years with extreme episodes of anxiety, fear, insomnia, grief and paranoia that consumed most of her daily life.  Writing poetry allowed her the ability to release her pain and redirect her focus onto moments that embodied her life with more joy and hope for a better future. Giving her something she could grasp onto during those dark moments of pain. A life preserver in an ocean of drowning emotions. This collection of poetry is a great addition for any poetry lover and must for anyone that struggles in finding moments of joy.  She hopes these words will shine some light in your life too.

This book is dedicated to anyone suffering from grief, depression, anxiety, or any form of mental-related disorders, including PTSD. Or for those individuals who have felt bullied, rejected, abandoned, ghosted, betrayed, lost, stuck or terrified or simply recovering from a traumatic event. If you're afraid of being alone or failing at life?

Then may this collection bring you comfort in knowing that this is the human experience. May it give you strength in those dark moments to forge ahead and fight your way through, to find the moments of ease and peace that become your new normal. May these difficult feelings you experience be messages or road signs leading you in a new direction. Carving out a shiny new path for a brighter future.

FOREWORD

Many clouds come into our lives each day. Some stay and cause long spells of rainy days and stormy nights. While others bring fluffy cotton candy puffs of clarity to an afternoon delight. Then every once in a while, we are faced with a force so strong it clears away the life we labored on for so long. Breaking it apart piece by piece, sending it all into the wind until there is nothing left but you and your memories left to live in.

I don’t know what possesses a person to treat others so terribly when all we truly want as humans is to be loved? To be accepted. To feel worthy. I'm talking about those individuals that aim to destroy other human beings. Out of greed, power, jealousy and rage. Those everyday bullies we encounter. creating chaos and fear wherever they wander. When they send you stormy days of destruction, you still shine your sunlight and hope to watch the miracles appear.

Have you ever thanked someone for the pain they inflicted upon you? I know that seems very saintly. The way I see it, we have three choices; we can be enraged in anger for what they did to us. Or lay on the floor crying like a victim. These options are not going to solve anything. We could take their jealousy, anger and resentment and turn it into a gift.

What was aimed to destroy our lives and create chaos, we could use to restructure and build a better life. A life of our dreams. When they tried to instill fear and terror, we could decide to grow stronger and more stable. No, not every time are we going to be successful in accomplishing this momentum, but it's a start. A jumping-off point into a new way to fight back against all that negativity. See if we could look at every moment of destruction, chaos and hate not as the tornado as it appears but as a gift. Not because they weren't devastatingly painful. Absolutely not. Small victories we used to navigate and find new ways to survive. And eventually we will grow despite their hatred and negativity. Not by force. By making a conscious choice, to adapt. Find a solution, despite the pain and betrayal they caused. They will see that we can actually thrive in the wake of their destruction. Realize that NOTHING will shake us, like the ancient oak, we stand protected and strong, shining our light like a beacon into the night.

When the world takes what seems like everything from you and there is no safe harbor from a storm. Will you create a blessing or only see a curse?

Chapter one, Goodbye Moon

Mr. Moon

darkness

my sweet darling dear

meet me at midnight

as the harvest moon

waves

the full moon

the moon dances

there you are…

the bee’s knees

i feel your call

my sleepy moon

moments in time

snapped awake

morning moon

oh crescent moon

surrender

goodbye moon,hello sunshine!

Chapter Two, Hello Sunshine!

Be the sun

thoughtless whispers

deep thaw

rise

build a dam

i am right there

sunsets

oh sunbeam

silhouette

it’s time

blinded

speak your truth

a blessing

the darkness

think of me

the light of my soul

my sunshine

my love
