Beschreibung

Ghosts and shadows weave through these poems – haunting nightscapes where the spectral Lady of the Lake calls out in drowned cries. This gothic-inspired anthology unfolds in a world scarred by war, apathy, and disruption, where nature's wrath rises from the ashes of neglect. Each poem becomes a quiet act of rebellion and reflection, exploring themes of disobedience, empathy, and the fragile line between destruction and hope. Through haunting imagery, lyrical darkness, and philosophical depth, the poet confronts the ever-present shadows to find meaning amid chaos and despair. For those who listen closely to the voices beneath silence, this collection offers a journey into the soul's twilight – a lyrical reckoning with the beautiful, the broken, and the enduring mysteries of existence.

Welcome to my burning world

welcome to my burning world,

where the tides of war spin and swirl,

casting its shadows upon the weak;

our voices once held such power,

now called into silence upon the hour,

ripping away our right to speak;

law has folded into a void less mass,

serving corruption, hierarchy and class,

will there come an end to indifference?

Cultures scorned, belief removed,

countries burned, no one seeks the truth,

why must we serve one side of the fence?

Welcome to my burning world,

where disease ravages every boy and girl,

claiming them in the name of greed;

the fires rage over land and sea,

no more contemplation of eternity,

how long until our people are free?

As I look upon this burning world,

my mind is cast to every voice unheard,

why must we continue to watch it burn?

History recounting our blasphemies,

our victories and our treacheries,

when, if ever, will we learn?

Alone

my heart, it beats with little sound,

feeling lost, wishing to be found,

I struggle when I am alone;

looking to others with outstretched hand,

desire appears so tempting and grand,

my only sanctuary is home;

they walk together hand on heart,

never far away or even apart,

I can barely find such joy;

so I look to the heavens for a reprieve,

to usher away this feeling of grief,

my heart, to it, like a toy;

I ask to learn the ways of love,

orchestrated by the heavens above,

yet I see no such teachings here;

based on pursuits of intimacy,

materialism and sexuality,

where do I fit in this fear?

Love has left me, and so I am told,

to look to God until I am old,

my heart and his cast in stone;

only with him can I truly live,

be loved and worthy of the life he gives,

now, I am never alone.

Forgive but never forget

scars fade,

though we may drift away,

our eyes remain open.

I remain

though you watch the world burn in flames,

how many of these do you recall the names?

Fighting for your every breath;

the countless number of faceless graves,

the countless screams wishing to be saved,

the only profit reaped is death;

I walk amongst the ashes of your cities,

filled with pity, animosity and hostilities,

the dying reach to your ignorance;

feeding on war and chaos, you fight,

consuming all within your limited sight,

bending those beneath to the will of pestilence;

you recall the fallen upon a plaque,

recording every defence and attack,

your rhetoric burns with false words;

burning my ears to the point of bleeding,

surrounded by families torn and pleading,

their memory cast as feed to the birds;

the forgotten lay here in a nameless mass,

waiting for the hand of time to pass,

beware the teachings of false martyrs;

professing to serve majesty and justice,

yet serving self, greed … prejudice,

raising an army of the cold-hearted;

I have stood by and watched the darkness consume,

long enough I have waited, held on for humanity to resume,

now I will reign in true justice;

long enough I have spared my hand from you,

spared you the consequences all are due,

your survival lies in armistice;

in my beloved darkness you will feel her pain,

succumb to her reign, begin to attain,

now she will see you slain;

transform your instruments of fear and blasphemy,

from tyranny into my twisted melody,

when I am done, only I will remain.

Curiosity and consequence

horror reigns,

brought by your inaction,

death blamed,

to ease your attraction,

false names,

not to your satisfaction,

look up,

this is a distraction.

Don’t let them take who you are

I look to the glass wall,

seeing nothing in the reflection,

I witness an eternity lost,

a race with no sense of direction;

belief is stripped from their grasp,

atheism thought their saviour,

to usher in the ‘godless‘ man,

all sharing one controlled behaviour;

their freedoms torn, taken and cast,

covered by the delusion of unity,

the deception complete through its veins,

all in the name of community;

like war, it masks itself as peace,

leading the blind to the blind,

with no one looking to the past,

no one dares to watch behind;

how much longer will we allow?

Their venom to wipe our soul,

the fatal domination of mankind,

this is mankind’s goal.

The price of perfection

bathed in the seeds of a fallen tree,

protection is peace of mind,

become the guardians they want you to be,

for now you are led by the blind,

casting your cares for the world to see,

fortune favours the lost,

show the world what it can be,

perhaps the goal outweighs the cost?

Our revolution

falling, cast to the floor again,

calling, will you ever hear our pain?

Crying, can we continue to be so blind?

Trying, to mend the heart of mankind,

fading, into memory amidst the mistakes,

degrading, to associate with your triumphant gates,

simplifying, the cost of life in the name of peace,

testifying, against the unjust I will never cease,

descending, humanity sinks into its own abyss,

ascending, true justice reclaims all of this.

All seeing eye, hear my lullaby

eyes down,

all eyes are upon you,

every motion controlling;

eyes forward,

their eyes drift from you,

they accept your choice;

eyes behind,

they prefer you this way,

making sure regret is yours;

eyes up,

you are beyond their knowing,

you will be free for eternity.

Veil of darkness

cast over me like a veil,

through uncharted seas I prevail,

will I cure this disease? Strike the nail,

to whom it shall please, come the gale,

can’t you hear their please? Oh so frail,

your people are upon their knees, asking for the grail,

how much blood will you need? Filled by the pale,

through the darkness I can see, an end to your betrayal.

Oceans of eternity

now the darkness creeps in and,

life fades away like grains of sand,

the blade caresses against our skin;

now the ashes of earth fall and,

our illusions of other’s life is grand,

the blood pours out from within;

now the skies fill with fear and,

wars are raged where the innocent stand,

we look to the mirror with a grin;

now the oceans of man are,

collapsing beneath its own star,

this is a war we can never win;

now is our darkest hour,

we have to find our way despite our lack of power,

how long until we look inside?

How long has it been?

My justice reigns

I remember the days of old,

when cells were stone, tall and cold,

such misery within these walls;

courts would last seconds,

as the hanging mob beckons,

such grandeur within these halls;

a life for a life, debts are paid,

masters of man, captured and slain,

nowhere to hide from the reaper’s call;

power removed after innocence betrayed,

rites of man committed they pray,

bringing an empire to its fall;

now my lady weeps for justice,

the victims trying to make the best of this,

when did we become so elated?

Now criminals mock society’s laws,

behind corrupted officials and judgemental roars,

what of this monster we have created?

Our rites are few, yet in crime they grow,

the guilty walk free as the fresh fallen snow,

what sanctity has been removed?

It is up to us to save our beloved law,

to rise up and boldly declare, ‘No more!’

together we will improve;

and she will reign in justice again,

to judge all equally, women and men,

death is abstained for now;

yet the time is coming when the world stops turning,

and all the cells are full till they’re bursting,

it is not a question of when but how?

See with closed eyes

your eyes open, not in care,

yet I was born to draw your stare,

such resentment, what compares?

To correct you, I do not dare,

to see souls lost, I cannot bare,
