To those who, at one time, inspired me to think big...

Along this journey, I’ve received advice, words of encouragement, and gestures of support that, without even trying, made all the difference. Perhaps at a brief moment you offered me an idea, shared your experience, or simply took a moment to pass on a bit of your wisdom—and even though we never got to know each other well, every bit of support was key in turning my mistakes into lessons and my stumbles into steady steps forward.

If there was ever a time you gave me that push I needed to keep going, know that this book is also for you. It’s my way of acknowledging that true entrepreneurship is built through the exchange of experiences and genuine, sometimes quiet, support given without expecting anything in return.

Thank you for being there, for lighting my way, and for teaching me that every piece of advice, no matter how small it may seem, can make a difference on the journey toward a bigger dream.

May we continue to inspire each other to break barriers and turn every mistake into an opportunity to grow!

DISCOVER YOUR WHY — TRANSFORM YOUR PASSION INTO ENTREPRENEURSHIP

In a world packed with entrepreneurs, discovering your why is essential. This purpose becomes the engine that not only pushes you to start a business but also helps you innovate and change your industry in a lasting way. When I understood my own why, my life changed completely. I used to act without a clear reason and only thought about my motivation now and then. But once I found it, it turned into my daily drive. I knew that wasting time meant drifting farther from my purpose. Finding my why wasn’t just a fun fact—it was a real turning point that gave my life true meaning.

I remember feeling lost when I first tried to start a business. I jumped from idea to idea, chasing success without knowing what really pushed me. Some days I wondered if entrepreneurship was even for me. That’s when I realized I hadn’t found my true why. I felt an emptiness no achievement could fill. Seeing this helped me start a deep look inside myself that changed my life.

The search for your why isn’t simple or straight; it takes looking inward and facing failures before you find the spark that lights your passion. It’s key to match your natural skills with your business interests.

You can start by asking simple but deep questions: What activities make you lose track of time? What problems do you love to solve? What market needs can you meet with your unique skills?

This process matters for any entrepreneur who wants to start a business and lead real change in their field. Think of sustainability not just as an extra value but as a main pillar of your business idea. In a world where people care more and more about social and environmental impact, entrepreneurs who put these values at the heart of their companies are better set up for success.

There’s a Japanese origin story—the square watermelon—that shows how creativity and meeting a clear market need can lead to new products. Farmers noticed round watermelons were hard to store in small fridges and took up too much space, so they grew them inside square molds.

They used glass or plastic cubes, and as the fruit grew it took the mold’s shape, making a square watermelon instead of a round one. Square shapes stack and store better, matching a lifestyle with smaller homes and appliances. By meeting a market need, they found a creative answer. Something as simple as a fruit’s shape made a big difference.

Taken further, square watermelons became a luxury item. Even though they taste the same as round ones, they became popular as decorations or gifts. In the tight farming market, changing a simple product’s shape was a smart way to stand out. This shows the power of branding and selling something unique through design or exclusivity.

A wise Jewish mentor once told me to avoid manufacturing and focus on selling, because making products costs more and brings bigger risks, while selling them is safer and easier. He always said, “Sell, but never produce.” This idea let me work smarter and cut risks—crucial for any entrepreneur chasing success and stability.

My path wasn’t easy. I started several projects that failed badly. One was a tech startup where I spent all my savings. I made it to the Techstars finals in New York—one of the world’s top startup accelerators. I was so fixed on the money side that I missed key signs: I had no passion for the field and no clear purpose. When the startup crashed, I felt crushed. But that failure forced me to look inside and ask what I truly wanted to give the world.

Picture being a traditional watermelon farmer. Your fruit is juicy, big, and round—just what the market expects. One day you see square watermelons from Japan. They’re not just a cool shape; they solve a real problem: saving space in storage and fitting small fridges.

You decide to switch and grow square watermelons. You know it won’t be easy—you’ll need new growing methods from seeds to molds. You buy special molds and change your farming style. Your first watermelons aren’t perfect and many get lost, but you keep going. With each batch you improve and learn more about this new product.

This story shows the heart of bold entrepreneurship: daring to think and act beyond the usual. Like the square-watermelon farmer, an innovative entrepreneur looks past the standard product and finds unique ways to add value.

FIND YOUR SPARK: THE ENGINE OF EVERY ENTREPRENEUR

Spend time understanding your unique skills. Are you good at problem-solving, being creative, or maybe organizing and planning? These talents can guide you to your market niche.

What really excites you? It’s not just what you enjoy but what gets you out of bed each morning. For some, it’s tech and innovation; for others, environmental care or social change.

I found that my skill in solving tough problems and my passion for tech innovation were the perfect match for my business. Doing something only because it looked profitable would’ve been a mistake. I saw that organizing and planning were strengths, and my true passion was tech and innovation. This match made my work rewarding and successful.

When I thought about turning my passion into my job, I got scared. What if my passion didn’t make money? What if turning it into a business killed my love for it? These doubts froze me for months. But I realized living a life apart from my passion was an even bigger risk. I took the leap, knowing the road would be tough but deeply fulfilling.

I’ve been a serial entrepreneur for almost 12 years and I’m close to turning 30. Being an entrepreneur isn’t easier than being an employee. It may look like you have more freedom, but I’ve worked many more hours than friends my age. Employees can relax after work, but entrepreneurs often work longer with no set hours and sometimes no salary at first.

Most of these years I’ve worked Monday to Sunday without breaks. That’s why I travel so much. When people ask how I’ve seen almost 40 countries, I say I don’t have free weekends and traveling is how I rest. I limit trips to 10 days and take about 20 travel days a year. How can I work so much? Because I align my passion with my work.

There were times the workload hit me hard. I missed important family events, and friends felt hurt by my absence. Once, I forgot my mom’s birthday while buried in a big project. I felt awful seeing how work affected those I love. These moments taught me to find balance and care for my relationships too.

That’s why I can work nonstop—when you do what you love, it doesn’t feel like work. It feels like being paid to enjoy yourself. You don’t need breaks because your purpose is stronger than the urge to rest, and every rest moment pulls you from your goal.

But I’d be lying if I said I never felt worn out. Some nights stress and pressure overwhelmed me. After a string of setbacks, I almost quit everything. I wondered if it was worth it. In those dark times my why kept me standing. I remembered why I began and who I wanted to help. That clarity gave me strength to move on. When your life and work match, you’re more true to yourself and more likely to succeed.

Patience matters too. The entrepreneurial road is full of bumps. Trend-driven founders give up easily when things get rough, but passion-driven ones have the grit to keep going. No big success happens overnight; real success takes time and steady effort.

A legacy isn’t built by chasing quick fads but by a steady commitment to your passions and a long-term vision. True entrepreneurship lives in persistence—the ability to stay focused even when times are tough. That grit turns ideas into lasting, meaningful realities.

I also faced surprises I never saw coming. From unexpected legal issues to betrayal by a trusted partner, these events left scars but taught me big lessons about trust, caution, and being ready for the unexpected. Sometimes it felt like the world was against me, but each challenge I beat made me stronger and pulled me closer to my purpose.

INTERSECTION BETWEEN PASSION AND SKILL

To find this sweet spot, draw a simple map. You don’t need to be an artist—grab a sheet of paper and start drawing. On one side, list your passions: tech, art, sustainability—anything that makes you feel alive. On the other, list your skills: coding, graphic design, communication, and so on. Now connect the dots. Where do they cross? Which passions can use your unique skills?

For example, if you love sustainability and have product-design skills, you could create eco-friendly products that cut environmental impact. Or if you love art and are a digital-marketing pro, you could build a platform that links artists with buyers using cool marketing tricks.

Once you spot some promising matches, it’s time to research. The market is huge and full of unmet needs waiting to be found. This is where your passion and skills can really shine.

Run surveys to better understand what your target market needs and wants. Hold focus groups to talk about your ideas and get direct feedback. This lets you gather useful insights and test your concepts before spending big time and money.

Stay on top of market trends. Read industry reports, follow thought leaders on social media, and join relevant conferences. This knowledge helps you spot new chances that fit your passions and skills. Watch your competitors—what are they doing well and where do they fail? Use that info to stand out and serve the market better.

DEVELOPING A CLEAR VISION

PURPOSE AND MISSION

Clearly define the purpose and mission of your business. This is the base everything else is built on. Ask yourself what impact you want to have on the world. Your mission should act like a compass, guiding every decision and action. It’s not just about selling a product or service but about creating something that truly makes a difference.

Imagine your mission is to boost sustainability with eco products. This mission not only sets you apart in the market but also draws customers who share your values. Keeping a clear purpose helps you stay focused and motivated even when things get tough. This clarity lets you face hard times knowing you’re on the right path.

LONG-TERM IMPACT

Aiming for long-term impact is crucial. It’s not about quick gains but about how you want to be remembered. What legacy do you want to leave? Thinking this way helps you make better choices and build a brand that deeply connects with customers. For instance, if your goal is better education through tech, you won’t just develop software—you’ll focus on how that software can change lives over the years.

Think about the difference you want to make in a decade or more. This long view guides you and inspires others to join your cause.

STEADY COMMITMENT

Staying committed to your passions helps you beat hard times. Trends can be tempting but don’t give the depth needed for long-term success. Passion, on the other hand, gives you the strength and energy to keep going even when things don’t work out as planned.

This commitment shows in every choice you make and every step you take. Dedication to your vision builds the toughness you need to face challenges. A trend might give you a quick start, but passion and commitment carry you to the finish line.

INTEGRATING SUSTAINABILITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Sustainability and social responsibility aren’t just extras anymore—they’re must-haves for a business that wants to last. As customers and communities care more about a company’s environmental and social impact, businesses need to put responsible, sustainable practices at the core of their strategy. This not only boosts the company’s reputation but also keeps it strong and relevant in a fast-changing market.

Real commitment goes beyond green projects or charity. It’s about building a business model that truly cares for the planet and people. Companies that focus on sustainability and social responsibility form stronger, longer ties with customers, partners, and communities. Over time, this builds trust and loyalty and lets the company lead by example, creating positive change everywhere.

To make sure these ideas are more than words, you need practical steps that turn sustainability and social responsibility into real action—showing the company as a force for good.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Responsible production: Use recycled materials or clean manufacturing methods. These steps help the environment and attract eco-aware customers.Transparency and ethics: Be open about your business practices and make sure every part of your company shows your values. Honesty builds trust and loyalty.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Community engagement: Bring the community into your business journey. Host events, join local projects, and run programs that help your area. This builds brand loyalty and gives you useful market insights.Social impact: Create products and services that make life better. This could mean tech that boosts quality of life or programs that support underserved groups.

Here’s an example of sustainable innovation that shows money isn’t always the top goal.

I publish this book for free because of my own story. I grew up where learning resources were scarce. I know what it’s like to want to learn but have no means. Now that I can, I feel a duty to give back. I want my knowledge within everyone’s reach, with no money wall. This comes from my past and the wish to be the mentor I needed.
