What do you need to know to live well ? In these years of my medical work, I found how little people know about their health and the prevention of the diseases.
A medical culture is growing parallel to traditional medicine or otherwise known as allopathic medicine. There is a need for greater interaction between the two medecines and a better understanding by the people to get the benefits.
First of all we must be convinced that the food is a medicine, as Hippocrates claimed (MAKE THAT FOOD BE YOUR MEDICINE, MAKE THAT MEDICINE BE YOUR FOOD), and if you make a wrong choice of diet, it can have devastating consequences on our health (even for small quantity), filling our body of harmful substances with effects on the psyche and on our body, as well as on our descendants, as we learn from epigenetics and nutrigenomics.
Many people think that the same diet can be good for everyone, but it is not so.
Nutritionist calculates the calories on foods that the customer prefers and makes a weekly schedule.
But no one remembers that there are foods not tolerated although they may enjoy.
For example, cow's milk is higher on the list of food allergy and often is not tolerated.
Everyday I found in my clinical work foods, that are less tolerated, but often are the favorite or the most consumed.
Of course with devastating effects on the: stomach, intestines, skin, fat, hormone system, brain, ecc..Then we must go to a specialist to avoid disturbs.
Also a new lifestyle can direct us to get out of the harmful effects of modern consumerism: cancer, obesity, diabetes, etc…
The challenge is to return to a natural and an organic food, therefore to prefer vegetables, fruit and legumes. So who wants, can help to restore a DNA intact and original, not influenced by a wrong way of life and by a polluted environment.
Today, in many cases, it has been demonstrated that mental disorders are a result of a wrong lifestyle. So to live well, we must follow correct habits, especially pregnant mothers, because of the influence on the genes of the fetus.
Genes are not static entities, but are susceptible to environmental factors such as: stress, medications, drugs, pesticides, pollution, electromagnetic pollution (TV, radio alarm clocks in the bedroom, microwave ovens, etc ...),behavior, positive o negative thought ( fear) and good or bad communication.
So genes can be modified by the behavior in their expression, while DNA remains unchanged. But the persistence of toxic substances harmful to the environment leads to alteration of the DNA with the appearance of neonatal malformations or severe mental or immune disorders

Fortunately nowadays, at least in the Western world, life is good: there is no lack of quality food, there is always a family doctor who follows us with great care and ability, and there is a reliable health care system.
There are events, exhibitions, museums, cultural performances, as well as many beautiful places to visit, where you can meet friendly people, with which to communicate and to interact. In short, it is a pity to leave this land forever!
The poet Giosuè Carducci wrote: life is beautiful, but so short.
Therefore, it is extremely desirable to live well and as longer as possible, so self-sufficient and fully enjoying the goodness of earthly life both materially and spiritually.
To achieve this objective it is necessary to keep in shape and prevent problems, sooner or later it may occur with the passing of time.
EARLIER YOU MAKE THE CHANGE, SOONER AND GREATER YOU EARN BENEFITS OF HEALTH AND A LONGER LIFE. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT “VOLAT IRREPARABILE TEMPUS”.
The change of life style may takes one to three years. The important thing is to begin the change. To restore our DNA needs at least five years, before you feel better.
Unfortunately, there is still much to do, because, according to recent statistics in Europe, women, from the to third decade of age to fifth, get sick more and take more drugs than men: 700% of cases in most of osteosporosis, 500% of thyroid disease, 138% of depression, headache 123%, 100% Alzheimer's disease, 80% of cataract, 49% arthritis, 30% of
hypertension, but 0% of heart attack, since it is increased the number of smoker women.
First I tried to consider what strategy to take to live well. For example: fifteen minutes a day of exercise increase the life expectancy of three years or using the healing properties of plants as PREVENTION of disease.
Consider that 90% of plant species are yet to be discovered, so the pharmacological action of the vegetable kingdom, that was created by "SOMEONE" above us.
This does not mean that you should not consult your doctor to solve health problems.
Neuropsychologists, epigenetics, nutrigenomics claim that our lifestyle influences the arrangement of gene structure directing towards good or towards bad, towards health or towards disease, positive or negative, depending on the behavior and on the food choices .
The good or bad conduct of life affects the function of cells in the body, promoting the well-being or causing disease, as well as gene expression, which transmit to offspring quality and defects.
So that food excess and lack of nutriment promote diseases and at the same time transmit a negative influence on own DNA and on that of descendants.
The balance and the variety in the food bring to a state of a more durable health.
The gradual physical activity or mobility promotes health and prevents degenerative diseases resulting from physical inactivity (osteoporosis, osteoarthritis joint, arteriosclerosis, obesity, etc ...).
On the contrary stress and the excessive physical effort lead to: a high acidity (low pH of organism); the production of free radical oxidants with acute cardiac, circulatory, muscular, neurological diseases; early aging.
Cells and genes which are inherited, are not static entities, but are susceptible to environmental influences and the excesses of behavior: smoking, drugs, alcohol, food, drug action, stress, pesticides, pollution, etc ...
Therefore damage occurs immediately and after a long time: on the millions of cells, that die early and are renewed every day, shortening the biological and temporal life; on genes; on the fetus during pregnancy; on to the descendants with disorders more or less important, which can happen into adulthood.
The neuropscicology has proved that mental illness is related to a bad lifestyle and a good behavior back to a positive expression of the genes and to the original quality of the DNA into the next generation, because the DNA remains unchanged in its basic structure.
So our mind and of our children depend on our behavior and on the influence of the environment. Today we understand better the term "WE ARE WHAT WE EAT".
And we can add "WE ARE HOW WE BEHAVE", that also affects our descendants. Then we are born with a destiny already partly written.
In the mountains I realized that excessive population density causes: unhappiness, increase in suicides (Japan), crime, poverty,pollution, ecc..It is the case to think seriously to that and get back to a human scale for a sustainable living.
It is also important to communicate between adults and young people to transmit the experience of adults and the news of the young.
As the trees have their mature root and young fruits. The dialogue between adult and young needs to give awareness to both.
There is to be hoped that our parents have had a good lifestyle and to achieve the best expression of our DNA, we must continue to respect ourselves and the environment, WE MUST NOT
FORGET WHO WE ARE AND FROM WHERE WE COME IN SPITE OF MODERNITY . NOW YOU KNOW IT!
WE ARE READY FOR CHANGE?
Answer these questions:
1) are overweight?
2) do you eat well?
3) do you move enough?
4) do you have always breakfast?
5) are you stressed out?
6) do you eat fruits, vegetables, legumes regularly?
7) do you drink about two liters of water a day?
8) have you relatives who suffer for diabetes or cancer or chronic disease or a heart attack or stroke, or intestinal disorders or allergies or obesity or thinness?
9) are you at risk for health?
10) are you happy, in love with your life?
Answer these questions and write on a paper which are the advantages and the disadvantages of a better lifestyle. Awareness of these answers will tell you if you are ready, determined for a gradual improvement and not with immediate and forcible change of your lifestyle to live well and more long.
If you are not ready for many changes, try changing one behavior at a time and try to see if you feel better. You are the architect of the your own improvement with free will and choice without pressure, so as to achieve a lasting improvement.
Sometimes ask yourself: do not I think eating so it is detrimental to the future? If I am not ready to change now, I can think again more forward? Can I still continue like this way and feel bad? Sooner or later can I decide to change? To change it takes more than a year.
“Time does not forgive anything”
A true prevention for living well and more long should begin by pregnancy and early childhood, just as said before.
In the last fifty years, the fertility of men and women has decreased by more than 50%: the number of sperm per unit of semen fell from 100 million to 50 million , so that the number of 15 million is currently acceptable.
Allopathic medicine advises not to take certain foods or substances such as:
1) sugar, sweets, refined flour, fruit juices or soft drinks with added sugar, which are devastating to the health, since predispose to obesity and diabetes (which is considered to be the scourge of the second millennium);
