FOREWORD

The world is full of long standing problems that only love can solve, we talk about wars, broken homes, divorces, misunderstandings in families, hatred, betrayal, anger, prostitution, deviousness, fornication, adultery… although we profess to love each other. Can we really live in a world where love doesn’t exist? If true love is the real solution to the world’s problems it is therefore better to find the real meaning of that true love and valorize it. Many have been confused by love than any other things; many crimes have been committed in the name of false love than ever before. Many themes of love have been treated by many people across the world than ever before, many families have suffered by the lack of love than ever before. However the unvaried, remanent and worrying problems still testify of the fact that we lack and hunger for true love. If the world has failed to know and experiment that love, if our knowledge has also failed to grasp it, what does the divine scripture teach us about love?

My quest for the answer of these questions and my thirst for the knowledge of love, led me to realize that true love can be found in the light of the biblical scriptures and the backdrop of this book is to find the real meaning of love according to that pattern. This book has been constructed upon the failures and successes of many people and according to the dynamic verses of the bible. It is a good legacy, for our children and our children’s children, for the upcoming generation and for all those who are sighing for love. Sometimes you may feel alone or find yourself at the crossroad of decision or even discouraged and tired. Many people experienced the same circumstances but eventually succeeded because they learned to live by divine love, so wipe away your tears and navigate with me throughout this book.

In this book, you will learn to think, speak, act but also conquer like them. Take time to read it carefully so as to swallow the words of love and they would become a part of you, have you ever seen a man all-sufficient to himself? There is more to expect from a fool than him. There is no limit to the knowledge of love you can learn, there is no age to learn and it is not too late to learn, so gird your loins up today and tomorrow you would live by the kind of the new love you haven’t experienced before. Use this book to heal your broken love and the people around you, because it starts in families, expand in the community and bounces in the nation.

Enjoy this book whenever you are downhearted and tired or in shortage of love but also in time of joy. You would soon begin to experience a positive change in the way things are view and then transit from fear to boldness, failure to success, inexperienced to experienced, baseness to greatness, poverty to wealth, abundance to superabundance, worse to good, good to better, better to best, from yielding to endurance, tiredness to strength, impossibility to possibility, limited to unlimited…

Here you will learn to expand the sight of your love and be eagle-eyed. You will spread your wings like that of an eagle and fly above all your problems, you will eat your difficulties, you will be challenged to challenge, encouraged to encourage, you will grow in knowledge and wisdom and then enhance the trust in your capacity to believe in your love and do what others can do, what they have done and you will learn how you can go beyond their limit. Come out from your comfort zone, sit down and learn, add the unknown to the known to increase the scope of your knowledge of love to the infinite, then wake up and rise up to live the new found transformational love.

Welcome to true love, welcome to true happiness.

1. THE ORIGIN OF LOVE.

In order to find out what true love really means, it is better to know the source of love, where it comes from and how we can define it. According to the book of Genesis which means the beginning, God was the author of the creation of the universe, that is to say everything, was it really meaning that he was also the author of that love we are talking about? It is said that the Spirit of God was moving upon the face of the waters and that He created the light, the trees, the animals, and finally man. Could we say that this tenet contradicts what we scientists call the theories of Big bang and that of Evolution? When we affirm that the universe comes from the big bang and that man evolved from monkey. Obviously, I don’t see any doubt of contradiction given the fact that the light we are talking about in the ‘beginning’ was resulting from an explosion: the big bang, but what we failed to explain is who caused it, because someone had to cause the big bang, who? Only a superior being could do that. Can we extract a great quantity of gold without dynamiting the mountain to extract it? Could you light the world without inventing the electric bulb? Can your computer exist without its manufacturer? The big bang certainly occurred but by the helping hands of God, the greatest of all the scientists. At the end of the creation of the universe and its components, God created the first man. If we consider the order of the creation, we notice that all the necessary conditions for the happiness of man were fulfilled before he was created. But what really motivated this superior being? It was love, the desire to create someone like Him, who is loving. “And God said let us make man in our image” so he was created. Of course the first man, our old parent ‘Adam’ living in the garden was not resembling to any creature if not a monkey, this so called old monkey in that garden. If only there were photographers who could have been able to take the pictures of the first man and analysts who could have been able to make a comparison with the picture of the civilized man we are today, we will without any shadow of doubt come out with the revised theory of evolution, that man was created like a monkey and then that a part of the universe was created because of the big bang which originated from the work of a powerful being.

Soon after the creation of man, God noticed that something was missing in the happiness of man and He said that it was not good that he should be alone and He took a part from the rib of man and made a woman out of it, it was only after the fulfillment of that condition that the happiness of man was full. From now on, everything was perfect although they were both naked; and I am tempted to say that they were men like monkeys. From such reasoning we can infer that God is a superior being who is the author of love and who sighs for the happiness of man. Unfortunately the joy of this happiness was not going to last, and was broken by the serpent which had been said to be ‘cunning’. He induced the woman to eat the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil defended by God, who also induced his husband in return, the implication of this action was that they were now under the condemnation of God and the burden of death. The word ‘cunning’ pinpoints something that was half true, the serpent said “your eye will be opened” but they were now subject to death which was not in line with what he said “you shall not die”. From this example we learn that the first condition which guaranteed the happiness, love, and joy of man had been displaced and for the first time sin entered in the world of man to the point that we all became victims of it: children, youth, adult, old man and women. What we learn from the tree is that God who is the creature of everything knew the composition of the tree, He knew that the molecules in the fruit of that tree could modify the human nature and makes him vulnerable to sin, and hence you shall not eat the fruit of that tree. Why did God allow the tree in the garden although it could have been dangerous for man? Couldn’t a God who is said to be Omniscient prevent such a man-made tragedy? Was He a loving God? This question can find its answer in the fact that man was created in the image of God, why didn’t He command the animals not to eat the fruit of the tree? Man was created free, free to choose like God and this was the only condition that showed that He was also a righteous God who created the heaven, the angels and gave them the liberty to choose also their own destiny. The God who made everything treated his creatures equally and it belongs to them to choose either to respect his condition or not.

Why did the serpent decide to seduce the woman? Because she was weak as being made from man and also because her intention was to sabotage the plan of God which was to make man lovely and happy. In fact the serpent which we are talking about was nothing but an animal inhabited by an evil spirit, which was the devil and his intention was to break the happiness of man. Where did that spirit come from? According to the bible from (Isaiah14:12-19), where it is said that there was a war in heaven, that an angel who was created free and powerful was intending to take the place of his creator God and was cast out with his supporters. So before we were even created there were already powerful competitors who were ready to ruin our love. After the committed sin, two forces at the conquest of man were created, a battle against evil and good. From one side God who was not responsible of the wrong choices of man and was trying to bring man back and the devil and his supporters who were trying to aggrandize their kingdom by using the new weakness of man. There is another lesson we can learn here, man accepted to yield at the voice of his wife instead of obeying the commandment of his maker and the fact that some angels remained faithful to God their creator.

Another consequence of this choice originates from the fact that they were cast out from the garden where they lived before, the privilege and happiness that this place conferred. Why? Because there was another tree called the ‘tree of life’, which had another molecule of eternal life inside its fruit and God said “and now, lest he put forth his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”, the truth about this assertion is that no one has ever lived forever in this world and we are left with no choice to find that molecule in the world. Nevertheless God did not abandon his creature although now He didn’t exclude the fact that his competitor the devil can create problems to man, as a consequence of his action of disobedience. God wanted here that man should not blame him for the future problems, He already knew the consequences that his action would generate and that those who would complain in the future should remember that we are responsible of our action. Our God is so loving to the point that He wanted to sacrifice his life for his creature and rescue him in the time of problems, what a great, true and sacrificial love than to give his life for those He has made. So love created the world where there was nothing and only love could protect and solve the problems of the world. As we have been created in the image of God the same love is demanded, our love should be sacrificial according to that divine pattern, but how can we manifest that love if sin has spoiled our nature? Now man was chased from his natural universe where love, abundance and life were, the Garden of Eden and was ready to explore another world with a new situation. Man was now under the dictate of his shifted nature ready to do everything to satisfy his nature, hence the origin of wars, broken homes, divorces, misunderstandings in families, betrayal, anger, prostitution, deviousness, fornication, adultery, hatred, lust, lie, killings…there are no more boundaries to the evil that we can do.

2. WHAT A KIND OF LOVE!

When God created the world He blessed Adam and Eve and told them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. As a result of this blessing the world is overpopulated today and will never stop to continue its multiplication process, we are talking about 6 billion of people today and the experts projected 9 billion in the next future (2038). Where did this crowd come from? From our first old grand-parents. According to (Genesis 4:1-2), the bible said that Adam knew Eve his wife and they conceived children, who were Cain and Abel. We learn from that story that the objective of that marriage was to procreate, which of course is the fruit of any marriage today. After that these children were born they each had a job and one day they decided to make an offering to God their creator, it seems like offering was the means of communicating with God, right after they had been chased from the Garden of Eden, they had to sacrifice something, if they wanted to hear their God, manifest their love for their creature and above all receive the forgiveness of their sin. What is noticeable in their sacrifice was that, that of Abel was accepted to the detriment of that of Cain. Why? Was it because Abel was righteous more than Cain? The answer was obvious; Abel brought the firstlings, which mean the best of his product and Cain brought only an offering, moreover because Abel was a breeder, this had facilitated the acceptation of his sacrifice. From that we learn that bringing the best part for his God was a manifestation of a true, sacrificial love and also it was clear that in order to receive the forgiveness of sin they had to shed blood. Our love for God should be supreme and should go beyond all our possession; we should love Him more than ourselves and others. After all, He is our creator and had the choice not to create us. What we have never experienced before was ready to happen, Cain became angry, and who told him to be angry? His evil nature. The first crime since the world was created was ready to happen, I wonder what was in the mind of God at that moment but in his omniscience He tried to warn Cain “why have you angrily glowed?” Was the question of this loving God, who was trying to warn Cain because He knew what was about to happen. Man after the first sin transmitted the gene of sin to his generation and nothing could stop him from doing evil. All of a sudden the love he had for his brother vanished away, jealousy, anger, filled his heart and eventually the worse occurred, he killed his brother Abel. Whenever we see killings around us or tough situations we use to ask the question, where is God? Did God really exist? Forgetting that all these originate from the lack of love for our God and our neighbors. The answer is: did I not warn you right from the beginning and you chose to disobey me? The crime committed by Cain kindled the anger of God, and curse was pronounced upon him, whenever we commit such a crime we are also under the curse of God.

However the process of multiplication did not stop because Cain had a wife and conceived children. This phenomenon of multiplication which started was a limitless process and in (Genesis 6:1-4) , the children of Adam, Cain began to take wives from themselves and the machine of reproduction continued, nothing couldn’t stop it, the reason that they took their daughters is that there were beautiful, and it didn’t please God, why? Is it because they were their daughters? No, by reading the verses carefully me notice the fact that it is said that they “took wives from all whom they chose”, this means that they could choose the number of wife they desired at any time they wanted as long as they saw them to be beautiful, of course at that moment the institution of marriage was not clearly defined and people could do whatever they wanted to do. It seems that they hadn’t learned the fact that in the beginning God created one wife and one husband and that the wife was created from the man so that she will match. The question of didn’t I tell you not to touch the fruit of the tree bounced again, they could but satisfy their carnal desire, they could but follow the wickedness of their heart. God was therefore angry not because they wanted to multiply but because their heart was evil, ok think of all the consequences resulting from taking many wives without any clear institution of marriage. The loving God became angry because He couldn’t bear any sin and He decided to find a solution to the corruption and violence of man. He looked upon the earth carefully and saw a righteous man there named Noah, and He said I am going to partner with him, I am going to use him to warn others, and he said, Noah did you know? I have created man because I love him very much but men have disobeyed me and I am not pleased with that, you know Noah I am going to do something astonishing, I am going to sweep them away from the earth, to stop evil. Since I am loving I want to give another chance to men, please warn them for me, if they repent from their evil ways, I would forgive them and renounce from the judgment pronounced against them. I created man because I wanted to see them loving each other sincerely; sharing things with each other and reproducing the life of heaven on earth but what have I seen? Evil. Noah, make an ark was a commandment coming from a furious God and He gave him the pattern according to which the ark should be built, nobody couldn’t deny that the ark of Noah existed, because it is scientifically proven. What we learn is that evil has shifted our sincere love toward a carnal one, without refrain. Eventually nobody couldn’t avoid such a tragedy not even the warning of Noah, only repentance could, what should occur happened and the water covered the surface of the earth and only Noah, his family and some animals who were within the ark escaped. How could they escape before the creator of the earth who know the element of the nature, his composition and everything that is therein? Do you remember that in the beginning the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters?

3. ANOTHER BEGINNING OF LOVE.

Another beginning of love was at the rendez-vous, with new instructions and promises not to destroy men completely like He did, because our nature was corrupted right from the beginning. The proof of that carnal and corrupt nature manifested itself again, after the destruction of men, no evil person where there again according to the bible, but how can we explain the fact that Noah who was righteous planted vineyard and were drunk, no evil person was there to teach him, his flesh induced him to that. As a result he cursed his son who saw his nakedness when he was drunk. Hence the proof that loving too much alcohol can lead us to do things we shouldn’t do.

Another process of multiplication in Genesis (chapter 10) started and men began to multiply, but their intention wasn’t to fill the earth as God planned from the beginning. They were united with each other and decided with the wrong purpose to build a tower to reach the heaven, but God confused them and scattered them in the surface of the earth. What a lesson for us, that only unity in love could multiply our forces and extend them to the infinite, no family divided against itself will stand as the saying goes: united we stand divided we fall, genuine love should be reciprocal in order to be sustainable. Another personage were ready to make his entrance in the biblical scene, his name was Abram, and God said, Abram, I have a mission for you, I want to bless you and multiply your seed on the earth, so go out from your country, your kindred to a land where I will lead you. Although the divine command was imperative, he had the choice to refuse it like those who hadn’t hearken the voice of Noah but he knew also how God saved Noah and he finally decided to obey, he went out with his family. He decided to love this God more than himself and more than his family, the love manifested here is a supreme one and is worthy of emulation. Although he obeyed by the love of faith, his faith was not yet firmed enough to face obstacles his flesh would soon betray him.

Upon arrival in Egypt Abram did something he never did before because of his wife Sarai, he lied because he was afraid that the Egyptian would take his wife and kill him because of her beauty. Abram was telling us that he was still carnal, that his faith in his God was not firmed enough, that God couldn’t deliver him, that all the promises made by God for him couldn’t be fulfilled. And Abram told to the Egyptian she is my sister, of course but the true is that it was half true, she was also his wife. Abram was trying to protect his own life and his possessions to the detriment of that of his wife, he couldn’t protect his wife, may come whatever. Even the Egyptians somehow were his brothers, he didn’t find any excuse but she is my sister. Pharaoh was happy because he found a beautiful wife and blessed Abram for that. Although the man acted by ignorance his action remained not unpunished, God struck him with plagues to show him that something was wrong with his new relationship, because he took the wife of another person and that he should give the wife of this man back. Pharaoh obeyed, although he was a great King, he faced another king who was more righteous and more holy than him. After that, God blessed Abram with riches, problems automatically started also, there was strife between the servant of Abram and that of his brother’s son Lot and he decided to separate himself from him. I don’t know if it was the experience with the Egyptian that influenced his decision but he made something that not all human being can do. He allowed his nephew to choose where he wanted to go. He loved his nephew more than his personal ambition, his faith was rekindled, although I may have the last choice, I know that the promise of God to bless me cannot stop on less I decide to stop it. Can we see such a love and faith again on the earth? He didn’t permit any strife to hate his brother; his love was stronger than his hatred and selfishness, to solve the problem he told his brother to choose where he wanted to go, that’s exactly the kind of love we are talking about. Abram could have been able to say I am older than him, I will make the first choice, he knew that even from dry land God could provide for him. Obviously Lot lifted up his eyes and saw the beautiful land, he decided to go there, his eyes saw the abundance of that particular land but he was not eagle-eyed enough to see the future consequences, he wasn’t able to predict the future, his attention was focused on the present things, what his eye could see and what his heart and brain could tell him to do, the abundance and the riches he could get in this region, he couldn’t but yield to the choice of the greener pasture. Lot went to his journey and Abram also went to his own and the strife stopped. Unfortunately for Lot, he lost what he had because some enemies subdued them in a battle and they were taken far away as slaves (Genesis 14:12), as the consequence of his choice. The love of Abram for his nephew was so great that he decided to rescue him and eventually succeeded to save him and all the possession he had. Our love for God and our neighbor will not only protect, guard our possession and that of others but would rescue them in time of challenges as well.

Although the divine promise to multiply his seed was still up to date, it was not yet fulfilled, he didn’t have a child, the fruit of his union. He was far advanced in age, the situation was worrying and his wife decided to look for alternative. She was not strong and patient enough to wait for the promise of God’s love. Like in the Garden of Eden she was the first to yield again. She decided to give her female servant to Abram and they bore a child named Ismael. Abram was about to face the consequences resulting from a polygamous family. After the birth of this child, despise, hatred and jealousy entered in the heart of Sarai, instead of the love that was flowing, the color of the family’s atmosphere changed, and the solution was to send the female servant away, which Abram did. In the pursuit of a child his flesh betrayed him the second time, although the pending promise of God was still up to date.

Abram decided to precipitate the plan of God, of course he was acting against the will of God, he forgot that people before him conceived in their old age, that God was not a man to lie, and that the excuses, that he was weak, that it was the woman that seduced him again like in the Garden of Eden couldn’t justify his actions. God decided himself to control the situation, He appeared to Abram and reminded him again who He was, not as a weak, carnal God but the all-powerful, in other word the God who can do everything, who is more knowledgeable, whose power doesn’t know any limit, who can break the law of medicine. Ok, didn’t we have a plan together? Respect that plan, walk before me and be perfect, I rehearse my promise again, I will multiply you exceedingly. To prove you that I am going to fulfill my promise, I will change your name, forget about Abram (father of elevation), your name his now called Abraham (father of a multitude), and I will make you fruitful, and will bless your generation because of you, this was a promise coming from a faithful and loving God. God reaffirmed his promise and gave the name Isaac to the future child of Abraham and that of his wife Sarai (princess) was changed into Sarah (princesses). As a temporary solution to the man problem of sexual desire, God ordered them to circumcise all the males, strangers included and that was what he did exactly, he obeyed to the commandment of God, which was a mark of his love for his God but also a symbol of HIS holiness. To love God is to obey him. And to obey Him is to attract HIS favor in our lives. Now the promise of God was about to be fulfilled, the divine promise was not going to delay again. God decided to speak to Abraham again, this time with the intermediary of tree angels. Abraham hurried out to tell the good news to his wife, of course she was his confidence, he gave her instruction to prepare food to welcome the strangers. The love manifested by Abraham shows us that we should not only take care of the members of our families but also the people who come to visit us by providing to their needs. How many people have mistreated angels in their home? The angels couldn’t wait any longer because they had to give him the good tiding. They told him that very soon he will have a son.

Abraham had learned enough not to doubt again, he knew that God was so loving and so powerful that he can do whatever pleases him, but Sarah in contrary laughed, what was the meaning of this laugh? I am well advanced in age; can all the love and power of God bypass the human law of reproduction? Even her unbelief couldn’t stop God from accomplishing his promise, the solemn commandment was still up to date, and the question that the almighty God was asking was: have you forgotten that I am your creator? I have created you from man, I can solve your problem, and I can adjust your body to bear a child. It seems that the mission of these angels were not at its term, they had to warn Abraham that God was going to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot was living. Lot, his nephew who chose the good part was now in trouble.
