About the Author

【Prologue】

I was a late talker.

At the age of four, I couldn't even complete a sentence. My family was anxious and took me to see many famous doctors, but to no avail.

Later, Isaac Rogers stood in front of me and smiled sweetly. He was only as tall as a table at the time, but his eyes already had stars in them. I thought the stars were really pretty.

So, I said my first word ever - "brother."

After that, I learned my first sentence in life.

I said, "I like Isaac."

After saying that, I sneezed heavily.

For the next decade of my life, I fell into a strange cycle.

Whenever I sneezed, my life would take a reverse turn and develop in the opposite direction. One second it was sunny, and the next second it could be pouring rain.

Sometimes I think that up to now, the only sentence I've said that hasn't caused a reversal is -

I like Isaac.

Isaac, I was a late talker, but I loved you early.

—Daisy Russell

Chapter 1: The Sun And Moon Lose Their Light, The Lights Go Out, But I Can Still Recognize You

1

That day, Daisy felt that nothing was normal.

Before the live broadcast, the female star who was paid a lot of money to come was late.

"Isabella should have come here? What did her agent say?" The live broadcast room was in chaos.

The assistant said with a crying voice, "There are still 8 minutes... Haven, Isabella's agent can't be reached!"

Haven, the host, was about to explode: "Keep calling! If the agent can't be reached, call the agency! Do I need to say that?"

Haven was renowned for her lively and witty demeanor, and her popularity spanned across the internet. However, at this moment, she had completely lost her composure and was as anxious as a small, fried, dried plum.

The live broadcast room was in chaos.

"Oh my god, what should we do? The advertisement for tonight's live broadcast has already been sent out! 1 billion users on the whole network, it's a huge price!"

"If Isabella doesn't come, we have to delay the live broadcast. How can we complete the task?"

"How about we sell a teaser at the beginning, and use a figurine of Isabella instead?"

"Haven interacting with a figurine is a bit scary..."

...

Daisy stared blankly at the chaos in front of her and timidly picked up the space silver down jacket in her hand, "Um...there's a hole in the clothes from the 5th link."

No one paid attention to her. Everyone was freaking out about the fact that the big star Isabella hadn't shown up yet.

"Hey, there's a hole in the clothes from the 5th link!" she shouted.

Still, no one paid her any attention.

Daisy was helpless. She was just a small anchor who came to assist in selling goods, on stage for twenty minutes, and earning five thousand . But now, earning that five thousand  was not easy.

Daisy took out a roll of transparent tape and tore off a piece of tape with her teeth. She carefully stuck the hole back together. Since the fabric was space silver, the tape blended in seamlessly and looked no different.

"Let's make do with it." Daisy put on the down jacket, thinking to herself that it was only for a twenty-minute show.

Daisy began to fix her makeup in front of the mirror on the wall of the livestream room. Just as she picked up a cotton swab and was about to adjust her eyeliner, several models entered from outside and crowded in front of the mirror to touch up their own makeup.

"Oh my god, my mascara is smudged!"

"Just a second, let me touch up my lipstick..."

Chattering voices filled the room like a flock of birds. Daisy rolled her eyes and moved aside consciously, feeling a foreboding sense of danger. Sure enough, one of the young models opened a box of loose powder, roughly dipped the puff into the powder and patted it onto her own face.

"Ah-choo!" Daisy felt an itchy sensation in her nose and sneezed. She realized what had happened and froze with fear. It's over!

"Can you stay away from me when you're doing your makeup?" Daisy stepped back repeatedly, "I can't sneeze."

"You're such a precious princess, can't even sneeze. Look at you." The impolite young model retorted.

Daisy examined the young model in front of her carefully, the one who had walked the Cannes red carpet, received paid endorsements, and had over three million Twitter followers, all of which were bought. The young model still wanted to say something, but the studio lights suddenly went out with a "pop," and everything around them plunged into darkness.

"Oh my god, what's going on?"

"The power was fine earlier!"

"It's tripped!"

Someone pulled the circuit breaker, and the livestream room was illuminated again. Daisy breathed a sigh of relief, but the young model in front of her still wanted to confront her.

"Be clear about who you were looking at with that disgusted expression!"

Daisy frowned and didn't want to respond. The makeup artist, Claire, walked over and pulled the young model away.

"Come here, I'll touch up your makeup."

Despite the noisy atmosphere in the livestream room, Daisy still heard Claire's warning to the young model.

"Why bother her? She's a witch!"

"What?"

"If she sneezes, something terrible will happen! Isabella didn't show up, and I suspect it's because Daisy sneezed earlier..."

The volume of this sentence was not loud, but the other models must have heard it and immediately looked at Daisy with curiosity. Daisy turned around, continued to adjust her eyeliner, but couldn't help but smile bitterly.

As Claire had said, she was a witch. One sneeze from her could cause a catastrophe, and whatever was happening in front of her would be reversed, mostly turning into tragedy or disaster.

So Daisy was the person in the world who was most afraid of catching a cold. If she caught a cold and sneezed ten times, it could really trigger the end of the world.

2

Daisy finished her eye makeup and checked the clock on the wall. There was still one minute left until the live broadcast. Haven had already planned to bring Isabella's mannequin over to interact with Haven during the broadcast. Ironically, Isabella was 1.65 meters tall while the mannequin was custom made to be life-sized. This meant that Haven had to stand up during the broadcast in order to interact with the mannequin. The beauty light and desktop height also had to be adjusted accordingly.

"Alright, is everything ready? It's now 3, 2..." Haven was preparing to go live.

Just then, the door banged open with a sobbing assistant shouting, "Isabella has arrived!"

Excitement filled the air like a princess had arrived. Daisy turned her head and saw Isabella walking towards her with her sunglasses on and her thick seaweed-like hair. She had a strong presence and Daisy quickly stepped aside.

Isabella was a rising star two years ago, topping the music charts for two months with a single and landing a role in a hit TV drama. She was extremely popular at the time. However, she didn't release any new singles or dramas last year, and her popularity declined as a result. The entertainment industry can be ruthless, and a female celebrity must have headlines and works appear from time to time to maintain her popularity.

But even with Isabella's waning popularity, it was still enough for the live broadcast. When people in the live room saw Isabella, they swarmed her like they had found the ark of Noah. Isabella didn't explain why she was late and simply sat down at the main seat, taking off her sunglasses and handing them to her manager behind her.

The assistants quickly adjusted the beauty light and desktop height.

"We have one minute left. Isabella, we are starting now! Assistants, quickly adjust the equipment. Okay, the countdown starts now: 10, 9, 8, 7..." Haven announced.

"The live broadcast begins!"

The tense live broadcast immediately started, and the popularity in the live room skyrocketed. Haven and Isabella briefly interacted before starting to promote products. Isabella wasn't very enthusiastic and only spoke a few words about each item, leaving Haven in control of the whole scene.

Even so, the sales in the live room were still high. Daisy couldn't help but sigh, realizing that a star is a star, and their ability to sell products is stronger than that of internet celebrities.

"Okay, next up is the down jacket we have linked to number 5. It's from the same designer as our main product. You can buy it with your best girlfriends and wear matching outfits on the street, isn't that eye-catching?" Haven turned to look at Daisy.

Daisy was already prepared and walked up to the camera wearing the space silver down jacket, showing off a sweet smile, and then began to pose like a model.

"Wow, this effect is really good. It's perfect for both dates and work. It will look very stylish when paired with a pair of shark pants. It will definitely make you the center of attention at any party," Haven wanted Isabella to join in, "Isabella, do you have any other matching suggestions?"

Isabella was stunned for a moment, as if recalling her lines from the script: "I think it would also look good with a fishtail skirt. The space silver fabric would also look great with casual pants."

Daisy was slightly taken aback, thinking that Isabella's two suggestions were a bit lacking in thought. The trendy down jacket paired with a fishtail skirt or casual pants? Isn't this combination too inappropriate?

Haven also felt embarrassed, so she shifted the focus to Daisy: "Haha, this outfit is very slimming. Reese, can you turn around and let everyone see the effect on the back?"

At the same time, Haven and Daisy both didn't notice - a strip of adhesive tape on the shoulder of the down jacket had lifted up.

Isabella saw the adhesive tape on the clothing's shoulder, froze for a moment, and reached out to pinch it. Meanwhile, Daisy, who was following Haven's command, quickly turned around—

With a tearing sound, the tape pulled the hole, tearing out a long strip, and immediately, the snow-white duck down flew all over the place.

"Ah—" Everyone couldn't help but scream.

Daisy hadn't reacted yet and sneezed heavily.

Her head buzzed, and a big red warning sign flashed in her mind: It's over again!

Is this a disaster that can go down in history?

Haven was dumbfounded, seemingly unable to bear the situation in front of her. The other staff in the live broadcast room also gasped in shock.

The white duck down fell gracefully, seemingly declaring the reality of defeat.

Daisy stared at the white duck down blankly, took a deep breath, and put on a smile again.

"Wow, this is real white duck down! Fans, come closer, I'll show you. It's 100% white duck down, and it's definitely warm to wear in winter..." Daisy grabbed a handful of white duck down and held it up to the camera with a marketing tone.

Only then did Haven come to her senses and quickly added, "Yes, the down jackets we bring in our live broadcast room are always authentic. Everyone can rest assured to purchase."

"Haven, why don't you cut open the sleeve here and show everyone the filling inside?" Daisy picked up the scissors from the table and continued to act.

Haven acted naturally and cut open the other side of the down jacket with the scissors, while saying, "The down jackets we sell in our live broadcast room dare to be cut open! No matter how you cut it, it's 100% pure duck down inside."

They echoed each other and quickly turned a live broadcast accident into a minor issue.

"Click on link 5 to purchase, and don't forget to use the coupon before you buy! Have you all seen it? Click here to get the coupon." Daisy began her familiar routine. She glanced at Isabella out of the corner of her eye and found that she was still standing in place, seemingly not having recovered from the incident just now.

If Isabella didn't come together to continue the live broadcast, they would be exposed.

The comments in the live channel were also skeptical: "Why isn't Isabella speaking? Is she scared by what happened just now?"

"Was it deliberately cut open just now or was it a real accident?"

"Wow, Isabella is lost in thought. Really?"

The comments became more and more twisted, and Daisy quickly pulled Isabella to the camera: "Miss Isabella, have you worn this brand's down jackets before?"

Isabella still had a blank expression and nodded after a while: "Yes, I have."

"Are they warm?" Daisy tried to liven up the atmosphere amidst the embarrassment.

Isabella nodded mechanically.

"Okay, the countdown for the last 50 pieces of clothing on link 5 begins! Let's count down together, 10, 9, 8, 7—" Haven also felt the strangeness of the live broadcast atmosphere and started counting down early.

As Daisy counted down, she cautiously glanced at Isabella. This glance was disastrous, and Daisy felt that no adjective could describe the strangeness of the moment—

Isabella, actually cried.

Tears suddenly flowed from the eyes that were known as the "most beautiful peach blossom eyes" by the media.

With a sound of "pata", one of the tears fell onto Daisy's hand.

Peach blossom tears, scorching hot like fire.

3

With the help of many other streamers, this bizarre live broadcast finally ended. Although it was not a complete disaster, it was still a significant scandal.

Without checking Twitter, Daisy knew that there must be a trending topic #Isabella Cries on Live Broadcast#, with thousands of suspicious fans gathered underneath.

Isabella hadn't left since the end of the live broadcast and had been staying in the dressing room. The atmosphere in the studio was exceptionally oppressive, with Haven sitting low in front of the makeup mirror, and a few models were comforting her.

As Daisy pushed the door in, she overheard two staff members whispering to each other, "What's going on with Isabella over there? Will she leave or not?"

"It seems like she just had a fight with her manager, and now no one dares to go and ask her."

"If you mention that, who's going to have a good mood? The clothes broke during the live broadcast, and the business will complain, right?"

Daisy didn't want to disturb anyone and found Claire sitting in the corner. She cautiously brought up payment, "Claire, I have to go now. Today's payment..."

"Oh, the settlement, right? I'll do it right away." Claire turned around and checked her phone.

However, Haven suddenly raised her head, "Reese, you can't leave! You have to apologize to Isabella!"

Daisy frowned.

Reese was her screen name.

Daisy was a senior college student who stumbled into becoming a small internet celebrity. Initially, she just wanted to share some dressing tips on social media and opened a "Reese" account. Unexpectedly, her cute and Q-version design quickly attracted a wave of fans, with a fan base of millions. Soon, advertisers for women's clothing and skincare products came knocking, and she could also take on some live broadcast tasks.

However, ironically, she had completed all of her previous live broadcast tasks well, but various incidents occurred in Haven's live studio.

"Why should I apologize? The No. 5 clothes were not torn by me. It had a hole in it when it came to me, and I reported it to you in time, but no one responded!" Daisy was a little angry.

"Ten thousand."

"It's not about the money!"

"Twenty thousand."

Daisy felt like she was talking to a brick wall with Haven and was about to leave. Haven quickly stepped forward, slapped her hand on the door panel, and said heavily, "Isabella is in a very bad mood now, and even her manager can't persuade her. Someone has to take responsibility."

"So, you want me to be the scapegoat?"

"Reese, can't you see the bigger picture? If you can comfort Isabella, what's wrong with suffering a bit? The key is that we'll give you an additional twenty thousand dollars! Do you really think you're a princess pea?" One of the models who had argued with her suddenly stood up and glared at Daisy coldly.

Daisy glanced at the model and said, "So, are you going to be my pea companion? Sorry, I don't want the money. I won't stay."

"You, you, you..." The model was so angry that she couldn't speak.

Daisy turned around and opened the door. At that moment, she heard the model behind her gritting her teeth and saying, "It's obviously your fault. You're a witch! Your sneeze can cause disasters!"

"You are a witch; your sneeze brings disaster." These words, each one hitting Daisy's heart.

She turned around, staring in shock at the model. The model looked to Claire for confirmation, "Claire can attest that every time Reese sneezes, something bad happens around her!"

Claire's face was full of embarrassment, but she did not deny it.

Daisy's face turned pale, but she still tried to deny it, "Don't spread rumors, sneezing causing disasters is feudal superstition."

"Whether it is superstition or not, you know it in your heart. During the live broadcast, before the down jacket ripped, did you sneeze?" The model pushed aggressively.

Daisy was speechless.

"So, you are the one who caused the live broadcast to go wrong! Why are you still walking away?" The model had a strong argument, and the other staff members nodded in agreement.

Haven stared at Daisy, pressing her hands on the door panel without moving a bit. It seemed like she had no intention of letting Daisy leave.

Daisy frowned, feeling a wave of despair in her heart.

Who were these people?

4

Daisy was taken to the door of the makeup room by a group of people. The door opened and Isabella's agent, Amanda, walked out. Amanda was a cold and aloof woman with an indifferent look. She glanced at the crowd at the door and her impatience grew thicker.

Haven spoke in a very pleasing tone, "Amanda, Reese is here to apologize. She admits that she is responsible for the accident and hopes that Isabella can forgive her."

Daisy became angry immediately and was about to say something, but Haven grabbed her sleeve.

Amanda lit a cigarette and said imperiously, "Forgive what? Isabella can't stop crying now!"

Daisy couldn't help asking, "During the live broadcast, Haven and I did our best to remedy the situation. No one could tell that the down jacket was already torn. The fans must have thought we were showing off duck down. So I don't understand why Isabella is crying. Is she really crying because of the live broadcast accident? Maybe she was crying because of something else when she came?"

Amanda looked at Daisy coldly, "Ha, you're quite reasonable?"

"Amanda, don't argue with her. Reese is straightforward and speaks her mind..." Haven quickly tried to defuse the situation, while shaking Daisy's sleeve to remind her not to speak.

Daisy waved her hand stubbornly, "I'm telling the truth."

The hot search was about Isabella's tears, not the live broadcast accident! It was too much to push all the blame onto her.

Amanda was obviously angered and her gaze became sharp. Suddenly, she pressed her cigarette toward Daisy's face. Daisy didn't have time to react and felt the scorching heat approaching. She instinctively raised her hand to block her face, but it was too late.

The cigarette was about to fall on her.

At the critical moment, someone reached out and grabbed Amanda's cigarette, then threw it aside forcefully. The cigarette drew a fiery arc in the air and landed on the ground, bursting into a few small sparks.

"Ah!" Although she wasn't burned, Daisy still screamed and hugged her face.

Haven and the others were also scared stiff, not daring to breathe a word. Amanda looked at the cigarette butt on the ground and then glared at the person who threw it, "Who are you?"

"It doesn't matter who I am. This is a society ruled by law. Pressing a cigarette butt on someone's face is illegal." The person who spoke was a young man, his voice surprisingly clear and pleasant to hear.

But Daisy was too familiar with this voice, she had imagined it a million times in her teenage dreams.

She put down her hands and stared at the young man scolding Amanda in a daze. Indeed, it was Isaac, the person she had once daydreamed about and feared to meet.

Isaac was wearing a black down jacket in a windbreaker style, and his right hand was defensively placed on his waist. He seemed to be guarding against any more misconduct from Amanda. But Amanda probably didn't have the courage to light another cigarette, because Isaac was a head taller than her and his excessively handsome features did not detract from his powerful aura. He was a guy with excellent appearance and bone structure, with high eyebrows and a pair of deep eyes as dark as obsidian. His skin was porcelain-white but cold and aloof. The bangs on his forehead covered half of his eyes, but his extremely indifferent gaze was very intimidating, and Amanda looked at him without an immediate retort.

3 / 3

And at this moment, Daisy was sure that she had not mistaken the person. Even if the sun and moon lost their light and the lamps went out, she would still recognize him immediately, because she remembered his every breath.

Daisy was suddenly struck by a sense of confusion. It had been at least two years since she had last seen him, right?

Isaac was undoubtedly a significant figure in Daisy's life. She remembered quite clearly that when he looked at her, stars had once shone in his eyes.

The most memorable summer for her was the year she was in her first year of high school. One day, he suddenly took her Chinese textbook, turned to a blank page, and wrote: " My heart still holds memories of the riverbank, and the light boat has no desire to cross the mountains."

The riverbank, the light boat, and the mountains perfectly blended Isaac and Daisy's names together.

The past is gone with the wind, beyond our reach.

Soon, Amanda's retort interrupted Daisy's memories, "Don't threaten me. Someone has to take responsibility for this!" Amanda glared at Daisy fiercely, "Isabella must have been frightened, which is why she cried during the live broadcast. To be honest, I've never seen her behave like that before. Can you imagine it? A female star who earns 80 million  per film has been crying for 40 minutes now! If she doesn't get herself together, it could affect her performance for a week. I have to arrange an S-class project for her as the lead actress next week. That's a huge loss!"

Isaac smiled faintly, "So, I'm here to provide psychological counseling for Miss Isabella."

"Isabella... what? When did she make an appointment for psychological counseling? I had no idea. Are you a fraud?" Amanda was shocked and glanced toward the dressing room.

Isaac took out his phone and placed it in front of Amanda, "A few days ago, she consulted with me online, and she decided to have a face-to-face meeting with me half an hour ago. You're not aware of this, which shows that you're just her agent, not her friend."

Amanda snatched the phone and found that Isabella had indeed made an appointment for psychological counseling. Her face grew even uglier.

"It's impossible! If something was wrong, she should have told me first! I'm the one who made her famous, and I provided her with so many resources..." Amanda was angry and at a loss, "How could she tell you, an outsider?"

Isaac narrowed his eyes and pulled his phone back without any hesitation, "I'm sorry, I don't accept bribes."

"I've met people like you before. No matter what Isabella tells you today, you'll immediately sell her secrets to the paparazzi. I advise you not to even think about it." Amanda was very assertive.

Isaac mocked, "Don't make baseless assumptions about my character. I have professional ethics and won't take advantage of someone in a vulnerable position." With that, Isaac reached for the door to the dressing room.

Amanda held the door handle tightly, "You're not allowed in!"

Isaac frowned.

Daisy watched the two of them, and then, as if possessed by a ghost, she called out, "Isaac!"

Isaac turned to look at her, his gaze calm without any hint of joy at their reunion.

Daisy's face immediately turned hot. She regretted speaking up and getting herself involved in this mess again. She hesitated and said, "Isaac, forget it. You can return the counseling fee to Miss Isabella, and let's go."

Isaac's voice was cool and calm, "As you know, retreating in the face of difficulty is not my style."

"You two know each other? How coincidental. There must be something fishy going on, right?" Amanda found an opportunity to break through, "Tell me, are you colluding with each other? Let me tell you, Amanda isn't someone to be trifled with..."

The young model took the opportunity to add fuel to the fire, "You probably don't know yet, but after Reese sneezes, something bad happens..."

"Is that even possible? No wonder I've been feeling irritable these past few days..."

"And this psychologist has some issues too!"

"Haven, don't pay Reese yet, don't let her leave!"

The others chattered away.

Isaac seemed to have not heard the noise from Amanda and the others, and just looked quietly at Daisy. Daisy's emotions were mixed, staring blankly into his eyes. In this moment, they only had each other, ignoring the pressure from the rest of the world. They were at the center of the storm, but disregarded the world's oppression.

"You should go back. Isabella won't see you." Amanda ordered him to leave.

Just then, the door "whooshed" open, and Isabella stood at the entrance with traces of tears still visible in the corners of her eyes. She looked coldly at everyone. Amanda quickly coughed and went up to greet her.

"Isabella..."

" Please come in, Dr. Rogers." Isabella interrupted Amanda, who was at a loss for words, and pulled Isaac into the room with a bang, closing the door.

Amanda was left out in the cold, standing outside the door.

Haven asked softly, "Amanda, should Reese apologize?"

"Shut up." Amanda's face was very ugly. She picked up her phone, which was ringing, "It's another entertainment reporter! Get me a lounge and I’ll need to do something.."

Claire quickly took Amanda away. Amanda's high heels clacked on the floor, creating a loud sound that shocked everyone's eardrums.

The other staff members scattered tactfully. Daisy stood still, staring at the closed door, with the scene of Isabella pulling Isaac into the room playing over and over in her mind. For some reason, her heart felt sour.

Could it be... jealousy?

"He's quite handsome. Who is he to you?" Haven glanced at Daisy and probed.

Daisy remained expressionless, thought for a moment, and replied, "He's my high school classmate and also my creditor. I owe him... a lot of money."

Haven was surprised and looked at Daisy suspiciously, with a hint of disbelief in her eyes, "Is that a sob story? I'm not buying it."

Daisy felt lonely. She and Isaac could be considered half-enemies, with her being the one who had wronged him. So Isaac was her creditor, and it wasn't really a lie.

5

In just a few hours, netizens who love to speculate came up with a new interpretation for the trending topic of why #Isabella cried during the livestream#. Some dug up a video of Isabella being scolded by a director during her days as an extra. Netizens agreed that Isabella must have been reminded of her bitter career path, causing her to shed tears. As a result, Isabella's fans gathered under the Twitter account of the director, hurling all sorts of insults and keeping the topic hot.

For the sake of public relations, the personnel from the agency and MCN companies were busy, but Daisy had nothing to do. It was already late at night, and she couldn't go back to school at this hour, so she simply sat in the lounge and slept with her coat covering her.

At around five o'clock in the morning, it began to rain outside.

Daisy woke up to the sound of rain and was confused for a while before realizing that her phone was vibrating in her pocket. She answered with a groggy voice, "Hello? Who is this?"

"Where are you?" Isaac's voice came through the phone.

Daisy immediately became wide awake. She sat up straight and replied, stuttering, "In the lounge on the far east of the second floor."

"I'll come get you." Isaac said concisely, "Pack your things."

"But Haven didn't allow me to leave. I have to take responsibility..." Daisy's words were interrupted as Isaac hung up the phone. She let out a sigh and her heart pounded uncontrollably.

Daisy put on her clothes and walked out the door to see Isaac quickly climbing up the stairs. He had obvious redness in his eyes from staying up all night.

When he saw Daisy, he handed her a brown paper bag, "Here's your five thousand ."

"Haven actually gave it to you?" Daisy was stunned as she looked at the money inside the bag.

Isaac smirked, "You're too honest. If she said no, she meant no? I watched the livestream video, and it had nothing to do with you."

"Then why did Isabella cry?"

Isaac didn't answer, turning around and walking down the stairs while pulling out a car key from his pocket.

Daisy quickly followed behind, trying to avoid the awkward atmosphere by forcing a topic, "You don't know, but I have an appointment with my thesis advisor at eight-thirty in the morning. Luckily, you're driving, so I can sleep in on the way to school."

As she said this, she was extremely nervous.

Actually, the appointment was tomorrow at eight-thirty in the morning. Daisy didn't know why she had to lie.

Isaac didn't say anything, just gave a noncommittal grunt.

The two of them soon arrived at the underground parking lot, and the atmosphere remained silent.

Daisy looked at him cautiously, feeling like he was wrapped in his black windbreaker, with only his pale face visible, looking somewhat like a dark assassin. The atmosphere was oppressive, and Daisy felt that if she didn't speak up, the assassin might throw a hidden weapon at her any second.

So, she racked her brain and forced out another topic, "Click, click, next week I'm going to a film set with my school teacher to design costumes and makeup for the actors. In my major, we started by observing... Oh yeah, that play is about assassins, and you look a bit like one!"

Because she spoke a little too loudly, the motion sensor light above them lit up with a snap.

Isaac suddenly stopped in his tracks, turned around, and looked at her, "Assassin?"

"Ah, yes, there have been a lot of period dramas with martial arts elements recently. My major in college was theater and film art design, so it's great to be able to intern..." Daisy was somewhat surprised.

Daisy's major in college was theater and film art design, which, as the name suggests, is a major specifically for designing the art for film and television productions. Of course, at first, she could only do odd jobs, but as she gained more experience, she would do some styling designs for actors, assist the director in drawing storyboards, do makeup for actors after the group was formed, and so on.

Isaac took a step forward, and Daisy immediately felt a strong sense of oppression. She stared at the face, her body instinctively leaning back.

"The production you're going to, is it 'Wind and Rain Autumn'?" Isaac asked.

Daisy was surprised, "How did you know?"

Isaac took a deep breath, stared at her, pressed the car key with his right hand, and a black car nearby immediately unlocked with a "beep beep" and lit up its headlights.

"Get in the car." He even pulled up her sleeve.

Daisy's heart jumped again, almost pushed into the passenger seat by Isaac, and then the car door was slammed shut.

Isaac sat in the driver's seat, his profile stern and cold.

Daisy looked at him carefully, "What, what's wrong?"

"When you go to the 'Wind and Rain Autumn' production, take me with you." Isaac said.

"Ah? Aren't you studying psychology? Are you interested in the drama now?" Daisy asked.

Isaac corrected her, "Not interested, just for work."

Daisy suddenly had an idea and asked casually, "Could it be that Isabella broke up with her boyfriend, Juliet Lloyd, who is the male lead in 'Wind and Rain Autumn,' and you're going to find him?"

Isaac looked at her, "How did you know?"

Daisy smiled awkwardly, "I don't know psychology, but I... often read entertainment news."

Regarding Isabella and Juliet, countless entertainment reporters had already made a fuss about them. They had not officially admitted to each other. The two of them had started as trainees at the same company, but later Isabella's career skyrocketed while Juliet's development was too steady. In this situation, Juliet could feel mentally unbalanced, and breaking up was also possible.

"What's going on? Did Juliet ask for a breakup?" Daisy remembered Isabella's tears, which were full of grievances.

Only then did Isaac nod and hand her a business card. Daisy took it and saw that it was a certain psychological counseling platform with the name "Isaac" prominently displayed.

"I thought it was because I sneezed." Daisy pursed her lips.

"The whole thing has nothing to do with you." Isaac said, "I calmed Isabella's emotions and promised to help her find Juliet on the set. Daisy, I need your help."

Daisy suddenly had a bad feeling, "Isabella wants you to find Juliet, what for?"

Not to pour a cup of milk tea on Juliet's face, is it?

"It's not revenge." Isaac seemed to see through her thoughts, "Isabella said she wants Juliet to say a love message to her one last time. She still can't let go of this feeling."

Daisy pondered, "It's better to end the pain than to drag it out. I think it's best to forget about the 'last love message.' Without trust, what kind of love is there?"

"Indeed, without trust, what kind of love is there?" Isaac's gaze suddenly became very strange.

Daisy didn't notice and continued, "You should have refused her and let her gradually get over the heartbreak."

"I promised her."

"Huh?"

"Not only did I promise her, I also promised Isabella that Juliet's love message to her would be no less than 500 words."

Daisy widened her eyes, "Huh? You promised her?"

"I promised her. Because she is the most normal client I have ever met." Isaac said, placing his hands on the steering wheel, chuckling softly and the lines on his face softened, "I have encountered many more weird clients than her."

Daisy said subconsciously, "Is this considered normal? The client is a heartbroken female star, and only you can encounter such clients. Are you the coincidence god?"

The coincidence god is Isaac's nickname, because he always encounters low-probability events. For example, he always encounters the questions he reviewed for exams, it starts raining right after he gets home, or the rain stops right after he opens his umbrella.

And for instance, today he came to provide psychological counseling for a female star, and happened to run into a high school classmate and stopped a small conflict.

He was born with this ability to always encounter low-probability events.

"Heh, you still remember my nickname? We haven't seen each other in two years, I thought you had forgotten." Isaac said mockingly.

Daisy felt embarrassed, "How could I forget? We've known each other since we were very young."

Their relationship could be considered childhood sweethearts.

"Since we still have a connection, then do me this favor, take me to the set, I want to see Juliet." Isaac said.

"I'm sorry, I don't think... Isabella's request is impossible to fulfill. Even if you do it, it doesn't have any meaning." Daisy forced a smile and said.

Isaac tilted his lips, "One of us can reverse reality, and the other always encounters low-probability events. We don't have the right to say 'impossible.'"

Daisy scratched the back of her head, unable to argue, but still did not agree.

"Well, if you're unwilling, forget it."

Isaac stepped on the gas, and the car quickly left the parking lot.

6

At 5am, street workers swept up fallen leaves, while office workers yawned and hailed taxis. The whole city began to stretch.

The rain gradually stopped, leaving small droplets on the car window. Daisy stared outside, but found herself lost in the reflection of Isaac on the glass.

After two years, he had become somewhat unfamiliar. He would never have spoken to her in such a sarcastic and aloof tone before.

In high school, Isaac had almost always listened to her. Knowing that he was prone to encountering low probability events, one day Daisy had a sudden idea and dragged Isaac to buy a lottery ticket after school. As expected, they won 200 .

Winning the lottery was a low probability event, but for Isaac it was inevitable.

Daisy excitedly patted Isaac's shoulder and said, "You did it! The Coincidence God isn't for nothing!"

They used the 200  prize to buy snail noodles and spicy hot pot. When they ate together, she felt it was the most delicious thing in the world.

At that time, she hugged his arm and said, "I envy you; you never have to worry about money."

But Isaac shook his head and said, "No, I will use my own abilities to earn money. I won't use this ability easily again."

At the time, she had great admiration for Isaac, but forgot to ask him why.

Why did he insist on relying on talent even though he had good luck? After all, encountering low probability events was better than having to reverse reality every time she sneezed, right?

Memories cannot be chased after, and time passes by. Life is always tinged with desolation.

Daisy was lost in thought, when suddenly she heard Isaac say, "Spyros University, we're here."

She snapped back to reality, saw the gates of Spyros University, and quickly got out of the car, "I'm tired, didn't pay attention to the location, thank you and goodbye."

But as she swung her foot out, she realized her seatbelt was still fastened. She reached to undo it, but Isaac beat her to it, "clicking" the buckle open.

Daisy instinctively turned her head, and almost touched noses with Isaac. They both blinked and realized the awkward closeness between them, blushing and unable to speak.

"Still tired?" He was a bit more composed and managed to break the tension.

"No, I'm not tired anymore." Daisy pinched her brow, more awake than she had ever been.

"Although you refused me, I still hope you'll consider it."

Had he not given up on asking her to take him to the set?

Daisy sighed and could only use a polite phrase to say goodbye, "I'll think about it, goodbye."

She turned and got out of the car, gently closing the door. The black car slowly drove away and entered Zona University across the street from Spyros University. Daisy stared at the car's silhouette and felt a bit disappointed.

Zona University was where Isaac studied and it was directly opposite Spyros University. But she had avoided him for two whole years and had not seen him once.

7

The story of Daisy and Isaac can be summed up with one keyword: childhood sweethearts.

When Daisy was four years old, she met Isaac. He stood in front of her and smiled, looking like a responsible little adult even though he was only five years old.

But he soon left Daisy, reportedly to go to school in another province. When Daisy saw him again, she was already in the third grade of elementary school.

Adults all said that Isaac was extremely well-behaved and polite to everyone, so Daisy's mother let him take Daisy to the amusement park in their residential area.

But once they arrived at the amusement park, Isaac's true colors were revealed. He took Daisy to jump in the sand pit, climb the rope net, and crawl through the fake mountain cave, making both of them dirty and messy.

The worst part was when they walked across the stepping-stone bridge in the middle of the residential area pool, and Daisy sneezed.

At that moment, things took a dramatic turn. The fountain in the pool suddenly spouted, and crystal-clear water droplets rained down on Daisy, drenching her completely. A few seconds later, the entire residential area could hear Daisy's loud sobs.

Isaac reached out his hand to Daisy from the other side of the bridge and said, "Come on, I'll help you!" But Daisy was too scared by the fountain and just cried, refusing to move forward. So Isaac simply walked to her side, took her hand, and led her out of the pool. Daisy immediately calmed down and followed him to the edge of the pool.

He was also soaked by the fountain and water droplets fell from his bangs, making his eyes even brighter.

The next day, Daisy got a fever from being soaked and catching a cold. Isaac got beaten up and scolded from the next room. Daisy began to worry that Isaac might never be her friend again.

But to her surprise, Isaac appeared at her bedside the next day and handed her a glass jar filled with chocolates. Daisy smiled with relief.

Children all love sweets, and one piece of chocolate was enough to win her over, let alone a whole jar.

Daisy and Isaac grew up together, went to elementary and junior high school together. Because Isaac was one year older than Daisy, he was in a higher grade. To be in the same class as him, Daisy made a difficult decision: to skip a grade!

With Daisy's grades, she would be considered above average in her class, let alone skipping a grade. But in order to be in the same class as Isaac, Daisy went crazy with her studies, as if she were suspended from a beam with a drill hanging from her head. Her mother even advised her not to study so hard and asked if she was risking her life for her studies.

Daisy thought to herself, "I'm doing this for someone I like, I'm willing to risk my life for it."

During the final exams, Daisy silently prayed that she wouldn't encounter any difficult or tricky questions. But unfortunately, she did. The last math question was beyond her level.

Daisy was stunned and filled with despair. If she didn't answer this big question, she couldn't guarantee that she would successfully skip a grade.

Just then, Isaac came to the window and made a gesture of encouragement to Daisy. Daisy was about to respond but couldn't help but sneeze.

Fortunately, things took a dramatic turn at that moment. The proctor suddenly picked up the test paper and said that the last question was beyond the scope of the exam, and students who didn't know how to answer it could leave it blank without losing points.

Daisy was overjoyed. If she could avoid losing too many points on this one problem, she would be able to skip a grade. And indeed, Daisy eventually succeeded in skipping to the fifth grade, entering the same class as Isaac. As she walked into the classroom and sat down next to him, Daisy was positively beaming.

But then, just as suddenly, her life hit rock bottom with a single question from the homeroom teacher. He asked Isaac, "Your grades are good enough to go straight to sixth grade. Why don't you try taking the middle school entrance exam?" Isaac hesitated, seeming to consider the teacher's suggestion seriously. Daisy burst into tears, feeling wronged. She had worked so hard to skip a grade, and now if Isaac skipped ahead again, how would she ever catch up to him?

The homeroom teacher was taken aback, asking Daisy what was wrong. She couldn't even speak, only sobbing uncontrollably. Isaac became anxious, hastily pulling out a tissue and wiping her tears, before telling the teacher, "I won't skip a grade. Daisy is here, and I don't want to go anywhere else."

Those words brought a smile back to Daisy's face. Isaac was the perfect childhood friend, walking with her to and from school every day, helping her with math problems, and even secretly giving her answers to test questions. They were incredibly in sync, so much so that they were often referred to as "brother and sister" by others.

...

The situation was nothing short of frustrating for Daisy. She didn't know where things had gone wrong, and it didn't help that both she and Isaac had unusual nicknames: Daisy was called the "Reversal Cat" because of her ability to cause reversals whenever she sneezed, while Isaac was known as the "Coincidence God" due to his ability to constantly experience coincidences. He would always manage to arrive in class just as the bell rang, or finish races two seconds ahead of the competition, or top the class rankings with a mere one-point lead over the runner-up. Even when buying drinks at the supermarket, Isaac always managed to get the "buy one, get one free" deal. All kinds of unlikely events seemed to center around him.

Daisy had once compromised, accepting that they could only be siblings, but she just wanted a special place in Isaac's heart. As long as there was a happy story of "Miss Reversal and Mr. Coincidence" in this world, it would be enough for her.

But reality hit her hard. Reversals and coincidences did not bring happiness. Their special abilities had created a whirlpool of fate that left them restless for life.

8

Daisy returned to her dorm and fell asleep immediately. Perhaps it was because too much had happened in just over an hour, during which she had many dreams.

In her dreams, Isaac was no longer aloof, but sitting by the window in the classroom, smiling gently at her and saying, " Daisy, come sit next to me."

She was so happy that tears almost streamed down her face, and she leapt two steps to Isaac's side. There was no one else in the classroom, and the clear light of day was shining on them, making everything too beautiful to be true.

Daisy summoned the courage to gently hug Isaac's neck. He was startled, but didn't resist, and his cheeks flushed red.

The most beautiful thing in the world was that he was within reach.

But just as she leaned in, she heard Isaac say in her ear, "Take me to the set and help me meet Juliet."

Daisy was about to refuse when her nose suddenly began to itch, and she quickly turned her head to the side. The next moment, she sneezed heavily.

She was terrified and covered her nose, but then saw Isaac's face change.

"Nothing bad will happen! I promise!" Daisy quickly explained, but then a thick fog enveloped Isaac, and she couldn't see anything clearly.

Daisy quickly dispersed the fog, but just then, a pair of hands reached out from the fog, followed by a female voice saying, "Reverse cat, what are you doing? Don't touch me!"

She opened her eyes and found that both Isaac and the fog were gone, and she was actually holding her roommate Amelia Turner. Amelia was leaning over her, with her hands tightly clenched, struggling. Daisy was frightened, and quickly let go of Amelia, saying, "What are you doing on my bed?"

Daisy's nickname was the reverse cat. Whenever Daisy sneezed, the things in front of her would reverse, and over time, she got the nickname "reverse cat".

Amelia was the school beauty, and she looked down at Daisy with disdain in her peach blossom eyes. Daisy suddenly felt like a perverted man. She shivered and pinched her face, realizing that she had just been dreaming.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Daisy quickly turned off the image in her mind.

"And one more thing, you're trending." Amelia tossed her phone over and said, "Congratulations on gaining a bunch of fans, you're something else."

"What fans?" Daisy's temple throbbed with a sense of foreboding. She opened her phone, and the screen was on the Twitter app. She saw the trending topic #Reese bullies Isabella#, and her eyes went black.

"Did you go too far? You made Isabella cry." Amelia clucked her tongue.

Daisy quickly opened her own Twitter and found that her private messages and comments were full of trolls. Her diehard fans were even engaging in a war of words with the trolls.

"This, this is..." Daisy felt a cold sweat drip down her forehead. She thought carefully and suddenly felt a sinking feeling in her heart: "It's Amanda!"

Amanda needed a scapegoat for her livestream mistake, and Haven was definitely off limits. Daisy was the easiest target. With this logic in mind, Daisy was infuriated.

"Quickly issue a statement, or else what's the point of your account?" Amelia pretended to care, but there was a hint of schadenfreude in her tone, "I told you to hire me as your public relations representative..."

"I haven't done anything wrong, why should I issue a statement?" Daisy made up her mind and turned off her phone, "They'll stop cursing eventually."

Amelia was stunned for a moment, then gave Daisy a thumbs up, "You're so calm."

She thought for a moment and said, "But, what if you sneeze? Maybe the situation will turn around?"

Daisy rolled her eyes.

"Sneezing is not something you can just do on command."

9

Though she appeared calm, Daisy's heart was a tangled mess. She had spent the entire day in a daze, hastily eating two bites of food before heading to the library to research. When she left the library, the hot topic was still raging on and the trolls were still active.

Daisy spent a sleepless night, and the next day found that the topic was still brewing. Frustrated, she turned off her phone and met with her thesis advisor along with some classmates, recording half a page of thesis revisions before leaving.

As she was about to leave, her thesis advisor suddenly called out to her: "Daisy, why do you seem so weak? Did you encounter any difficulties with your thesis?"

Daisy shook her head, "Thank you for your concern, I'm fine."

"Is there anything I can help with?"

Daisy forced a bitter smile and shook her head. With thousands of netizens cursing at her, no one could help.

The thesis advisor didn't notice her abnormality and continued speaking: "If you need anything, just let me know. You must finish your thesis well, and I plan to nominate it for the Outstanding Thesis award."

"Thank you, professor." Daisy didn't feel the slightest bit of joy and just wanted to leave quickly.

As she walked out of the classroom, Daisy leaned against the wall of the teaching building, her back covered in a dense layer of cold sweat. She gathered her courage and opened her phone, logging into Twitter, only to see countless netizens pressuring her to apologize.

But where had she gone wrong?

Everyone believed that they were righteous and could vent their anger online at zero cost. People only believed in the one-sided and partial aspects that they saw, never having the patience to understand the complete truth.

Daisy decided to issue a statement, as staying silent only made her seem guilty. She opened a text editor and forced herself to write the statement.

After writing just two lines, a stranger called her phone. Daisy's finger slipped and she accidentally answered the call, only to hear a boy cursing at her on the other end.

"Reese, you're used to being an androgynous person, aren't you? Why did you bully Isabella? I advise you to apologize to Isabella as soon as possible! Otherwise, we..."

Trolls?

Daisy was frightened and quickly hung up the phone. Though the teaching building had heating, she was shivering all over.

This time, she had truly underestimated the power of internet mobs. Isabella's fans had come from all directions, not just playing the role of keyboard warriors but also managing to find her phone number!

She was so scared that she didn't know whether to call the police or change her number. Just as she was panicking, another call came in, making her jump.

The number was still very unfamiliar.

Daisy subconsciously wanted to hang up the phone, but the caller hung up first, followed by a text message: "I'm Isaac, call me back."

Isaac...

Daisy hesitated and dialed the number back, the call quickly answered with a familiar voice on the other end, "Hey, you finally turned on your phone."

"What's going on?" Daisy asked, realizing there was a hint of crying in the voice.

Isaac got straight to the point: "I've already contacted Isabella, and she will help you clear things up. If that's not enough, I'll release the recording."

"What recording?" Daisy was shocked.

"Turn around." He said succinctly.

Daisy was still pondering his meaning when she suddenly realized that her phone had been disconnected. She turned around dazedly and saw Isaac pushing open the glass door of the teaching building and walking toward her, covered in frost and snow.

After two years of separation, they had met hastily yesterday and he suddenly appeared at Spyros University today. He was only ten or so steps away, and his deep blue cotton jacket, which resembled a combat uniform, highlighted his sharp features, giving him a youthful and green look that attracted the attention of the crowd. Several passing female students stared at him without blinking and whispered to each other.

Daisy was too stunned to greet him and instead focused on the portfolio in his hand. Isaac approached her and handed it over.

"What's this?" Daisy opened the portfolio and found a USB drive inside.

"When I went to get your money, I made Haven admit that the live broadcast accident was not your fault, and I also recorded the conversation." He said.

Daisy was shocked and looked up at him, "So, you predicted that I would get into trouble?"

Isaac furrowed his brow slightly, "I didn't do it just for you. It's a professional habit to record conversations." He paused, "besides, I need your help, let's make a deal."

Daisy blinked twice and asked tentatively, "You don't want me to... go to the set and ask Juliet to record a 500-word love letter, do you?"

"Yes." He replied straightforwardly.

"But this is too difficult. Juliet is known for being arrogant. How can he do what we ask?" Daisy was worried.

Isaac sneered and took the USB drive from her hand. When his fingers touched hers, Daisy felt a scorching sensation on her skin. He took a step forward, and she immediately felt an invisible force bearing down on her. He looked down at her and asked one word at a time, "Do you still have a choice?"

Indeed, she had no choice. On one side, there was the scorching hot public opinion, and on the other, an impossible task. Daisy quickly surrendered, "Okay, I promise to go to the set, but I can't guarantee that I can complete the task."

"No." He refused flatly and put the USB drive in his pocket.

Daisy surrendered completely, raising her hands in defeat, "Okay, okay, I'll try my best. You're a great god, I promise you everything."

"Okay, it's settled. See you next week." Isaac smiled coldly and shook hands with her before turning and walking away briskly.

Daisy watched his back, his extraordinary and handsome figure, long and straight legs, taking three steps in two and quickly walking out of the teaching building. She lowered her head and opened her palm, holding the USB drive.

Chapter 2: The Most Beautiful Thing in the World, Just Within Reach

1

In her dorm room, Daisy sat at her desk with a flash drive plugged into her computer. She opened the audio file on the flash drive, and after a burst of static, voices immediately emanated from the speakers connected to her computer.

It was a recording of the conversation between Isaac, Haven, and others from the early hours of the day before yesterday.

"...We haven't reached a conclusion yet on whether it's Reese's responsibility, and I can't pay that money," Haven's voice asserted with authority in the recording.

Isaac's cold laughter followed, "When one wishes to assign blame, finding excuses is not difficult. If you want to label it as Reese's responsibility, you can come up with a thousand reasons. Who cried during the livestream? That answer is crystal clear in your minds."

Haven and Amanda remained silent, a silence as still as death.

"Furthermore, I want to remind you all that I just reassured Isabella and she promised to continue working normally. For that achievement alone, you should give me some face, shouldn't you?"

Amanda's angry voice immediately responded, "Are you threatening me? What did Isabella tell you? I warn you, don't talk nonsense! Otherwise, I'll sue you for defamation!"

Isaac chuckled, "Alright."
