THE FLYING CASTLE

Edgar was a land in the east with fields covered with lush green grass and flowers, flowers that fell asleep at night and bloomed with the sunlight as everyday went by. Her people were elves, elves who lived in peace and harmony, this land was filled with magic and magical creatures, there were birds that could talk, dancing turtles, flying fishes, talking dogs and cats. Everything and everyone was respected in edgar. And even though edgar was filled with magic, not all the elves were born with magic equal to that of the other, some were born with the magic of the sky, others, the earth, others the sea and some others, the magic of the sun. those who were born with the magic of the sun were highly regarded because the magic of the sun gave them the ability to practice the other magics, while those who were not born with the magic of the sun could not manipulate the other magics.

Near edgar the land of the elves was herox the land of the blue elves and timblar the land of the dwarves. These lands were all located in the east. A lake formed a circle around these three lands and that lake served as their border line. This border separated the three lands from the outlaws of the east. It was told that the outlaws of the east wee either the dwarves , the blue elves or the elves who practiced the dark magics. The dark magics was the practice of either of the four magics except without good intentions but that was not the truth about the outlaws.

There was an old prophecy that proclaimed one of the outlaws would lead and make all the lands in the east one, but this prophecy had almost been forgotten and there in the lands of the east were secrets, secrets about the outlaws and secrets about the magics, these secrets were protected by the order of the sun. the order of the sun were all the elves and dwarves that were born with the sun magic, theirs was the strongest of the magics but there was something about those born with the sun magic, a secret! There was a darkness was born with them and this darkness was called the curse of the sun. that prophecy told of this darkness but no one knew because it was a forgotten prophecy.

The outlaws did not practice dark magics, they were the ones who fought against the order of the sun. they were the little few who knew the real darkness and sought to fight against the order of the sun with all their magics combined. They still believed in the old prophecy but like all prophecies are, their prophecy was vague and unclear as there wasn’t any detail, the outlaws didn’t know if the chosen one as the prophecy proclaimed would be a dwarf, blue elf or an elf, it only stated that one from the outlaws would unite the lands or so we thought.

There was one noble family in edgar, an elf who lived with his two sons, they were twins and they lost their mother after they had been born, their names were roc who was born with sun magic and leon who was born with sky magic. These two grew up together, while growing up leon noticed and got to know of the dark secret about those born with the magic of the sun, he saw how his brother roc would sometimes drain the magics of the plants and some of the small creatures. He had wondered why his brother always did that but he was so young at that time and did not understand. When they clocked thirteen years of age, the order of the sun came for roc and took him with them to further grow his powers and learn how to control them, the order of the sun did this for anyone born with the sun magic. This left leon alone with their father since he couldn’t visit his brother at the order of the sun.

As leon grew he studied about the magic of the sun, he did this because of what he had seen his brother do, he read every text there was about the order of the sun and all that was related to it. Soon leon was 23 years of age and that was when he stumbled upon an old text, a very old text. Where the truth about the sun magics lied, there he found out that those born with the magics of the sun were compelled to the curse of the sun which was their undying need and want to consume the magics of the other living creatures. Any creature that had its magics consumed would die after. Leon got his epiphany, his brother could not do away with draining the magics of other living creatures and that was why the order of the sun took him when he was young to hide the dark secret. The secret of the sun magics.
