Beschreibung

This is a poetic diary of the events of Spring 2020 as seen by the Poet Darren Hobson, although he lived far from the worst affected areas of Italy during the pandemic the lockdown was nationwide and the effects on his physical and mental health are here to read by all. This is not a ploy to use the pandemic as a tool , to gain new readers, to gain new followers, this is just one persons perspective on an event that brought misery to every community in this huge globe. This is just one person informing the world of his fight for survival , his shame of feeling bad when other people are feeling much worse, this is real paranoid thoughts, these are his real bad dreams, this is just one person asking for answers and hoping for a return to normality,

Pandemic Days

Sat inside, I can’t go out to play

The virus took our freedom away

Can’t have a beer or be one of the boys

I’m sat inside ordering Marc Bentzens toys

The beers ran out but I’m pleased to say

Simone dropped by and made my day

Got some food in and plenty of toilet roll

Got my music, swinging rock n’ roll

Forbidden to do what us humans do

Just sit tight to see things through

No kissing assholes or holding hands

Just virtual kisses are on demand

Forbidden to walk the dog more than twice a day

Sat inside with the cats I play

Sipping wine ignoring the news

That post on facebook gave me the blues

Forbidden to curse told not to swear

So fuck Johnson because he don’t care.

Comment This

In a world of shadow and a whole lot of doubt

We are all worried with a lot to talk about

In this time of pain in the event of loss

There are some people here who still don’t give a toss

Yet there are brave people living with consequences

Living with the virus ashamed to be marked

So they share their experience giving us warnings

A diary of fever a page of isolation

With a space to comment to encourage to give hope

Comment this if you care comment if you are with me

So comment they did mainly poisonous and vile

How can you treat someone so badly someone who is fighting to smile

Threatening abuse because she got infected

Is it her fault your love ballad for Mussolini was rejected

Is she a zombie flesheater or just a worried little girl

Who had the courage to share her dilemma with her friends

She knows who they are now because some turned away

Instead of giving her support which they may need one day

Their parents shocked at how neighbours can be

Is self-isolation so bad it feeds on insanity

Trust no one don’t go near

A virus is something you should fear

I won’t turn my back on no one

I won’t condemn you to die

I will try to lift you all up

When all you want to do is cry

I might not be able to hold your hand

But I am here because I want to understand

We need to help each other

And rise above all of this

So fuck all the vile squalid haters

Go on cunts, comment this.
