Beschreibung

The poems in this book are about Isis and her daughter. Both are introverts and highly sensitive. In the rush of a full-time job and other daily tasks, learning about each other's thoughts is not easy. There will come a time when one cannot ask one's mother any questions anymore. Then, it will be too late for answers. Thus, at some point, Isis decided to be more open with her daughter than her parents had been with her. Poems are very good for encoding messages. They not only communicate in words but also convey inimitable magic that often lies between the lines or in what is not said. Just like paintings, poems encourage the viewer to reflect and interpret, which can be very exciting.

Light and Dark

As light and dark

Shift imperceptibly

Joy and fears

Change accordingly

Through the mist of times

They waft and fade

While Love forms the

Awareness of your

Beautiful mind

Introduction

My beloved Daughter,

just like my mother, you are the brightest light in my life, a torch and a beacon in the dark. Know that you have been loved by me long before you were conceived or born. Your name is short for Rosemary. And what a magnificent Rose you have become indeed!

Back then, when you still have been swinging gently in my womb, I used to stroke my belly gently, whispering and singing to you. Deep inside my heart, I just knew that you are a unique and beautiful being. Such special souls sometimes struggle through life, for they are different. Feeling awkward, they tend to keep to themselves and shy away from a world that has become cold and complicated. Sometimes, they question the whole meaning of earthly existence, which, in fact, is very wise. Unfortunately, the secrets of life are not easily revealed.

In order to grow, we humans must endure much loss and pain on our way to enlightenment. At times, we feel at a loss and play with the thought to simply give up the fight. So, let me thank you that you have not given up yet. I am so glad you are still aboard, although life is not easy for you in particular.

May these poems I wrote for and partly about you, help you in dark hours to come, when life seems unbearable. Be sure that I love you more than anyone else in the world and that I will never give up on you, no matter the difficulties or where my spirit might be.

Your loving Mother

Waiting for you

Nine long months

I’ve been waiting for you

To be born into my arms

Into my world and my heart

When you moved in my womb for

The very first time like a butterfly

I just knew how beautiful you are

How unique you always will be

And how precious to me

When you kept me waiting

I wondered about your soul

How it might be coping

Hoping you’d grow strong

In a realm where few belong

As you stalled and did not come

They pulled you like a lamb

And when the cold world

Embraced you relentlessly

I cradled you in my loving arms

Until sleep took us under

Born in Pain

Life is hard for you

My sweetest child

When light is fading

The world seems dark

As glimmers of hope dwindle

And memories leave their mark

These daily struggles

Keep dragging you down

Happy childhood days have passed

As the princess wearing a crown

I’ve shared your lonely tears:

Gone with the wind in a haze

I’d lift your burden, if I could

You don’t like living, though you should

I reassure you: No one is to blame

For you were born in love and pain
