Chapter 1

"Why Nat, why'd you have to do it?"

Natalie rolled her tongue piercing around in her mouth and cocked an over tweezed eyebrow at her younger sister. Shrugging her shoulders with a minimalist's effort she, what she thought was affectionate, beckoned her 8 year old child away. Becca remained standing in front of the sofa waiting for her sister to respond. Natalie just kept shrugging, moving her eyebrows for effect and trying to voice her opinion. Difficult as the tongue piercing she had desperately wanted, was far too back near her throat, at her request.

"I chdn't-" Natalie struggled to make it through a sentence without gurgling.

"Wot?" Becca stared at her. "Natalie, I can't understand you!"

Natalie tried once more and then flapped her hands, sitting back further on the sofa. Her body language was a clear, fuck it." Becca knew she was at the end of her tether but worse, Natalie would be too. See, for some peculiar reason, Natalie does whatever Natalie wants and if you question her behaviour or choices then you'll be chucked out of her standard council house filled with all the domestic luxuries that she demanded, courtesy of mummy and daddy, who, funnily enough, won't say nor hear a bad word said against, Natalie. No matter what Natalies does, to Becca's dismay.

Becca naturally put her hands on her hips, allowing herself to rest for a second before snapping them up in the air and sighing. Clearly she was supposed to say sorry to Natalie and not the other way around. Natalie never liked saying sorry. Even as a mother and further confirmed adult, she had never gained the will power to apologise. After a few years at University Becca now knew why. Natalie did not like to take the blame for her decisions, especially when Natalie's choices caused another harm.

"Bye Nat." Becca sadly stepped away.

"Yeah bye Becca." Natalie opened her mouth to the widest that she possibly could in order to annunciate her biting tone to the her bleak response. Sighing heavily to herself, she started at the time and put on Jeremy Kyle.
