Whatever we do, whatever our profession, it undoubtedly includes an element of performance. Taking this notion as the starting point, this work is a collection of reflections on various aspects of performance in the widest possible sense of the word. Certain ideas, and indeed specific words, were first used as postings on my personal blog over the period from March 2009 to July 2011.A few sections were originally developed for the training venture Spotlight on Performance and its related blog and are used here with the kind permission of Spotlight on Performance. Combining passion for professional and personal development and love of theatre, the objective of Spotlight on Performance is to help people perform at their full potential, knowing society benefits when individuals operate at their best.
