The fate of my planet rest on me finding a resolution to this incurable virus. As a warrior of Alpha Majestrog, my word is my bond, but these circumstances require me to go back on my word. I have been forbidden to go on this stealth mission to retrieve an antidote.
This is one time; I am unable to obey the king. I am willing to risk it all, even my life and if I get to kill some Gurguns great. My secret stealth mission goes terribly wrong when I come face to face with a feisty human female demanding my help.
Only the king and queen of Alpha Majestrog have the right to order me around.
This slip of a female is bartering with me, and unfortunately she has something I want. Just when I think, I might be able to get my mission back on track, the irrefutable knowledge slams into me that she is my fated mate.
I need to fulfil my mission, save my fated mate and get the antidote back to Alpha Majestrog or everything that I love will be forfeited.
I shook my head ignoring the sharp pain that radiated at the back of my skull. The veins in it throbbed incessantly. Blinking away the pain, I squinted against the bright viridian light that filtered through the cracks above me and tried to move my body. It was impossible as there were cold metal manacles over my wrist and feet. My arms ached from being bound behind my back, and I couldn’t feel my feet. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t feel anything. The sharp rocking motion that forced my body to move left and right felt like strong gravitational forces.
It was impossible to see, but I could hear the faint humming noises of the engine. The occasional dips in altitude and my ears popping like pop rock candy let me know that I was in the air, bound and caged like some livestock animal. I would be lucky if I could hear after this transport, but something told me that was the least of my worries. There was a lingering scent of Patuka in the air. Frowning, I lifted my head and inhaled deeply. The alien fruit of Patuka was only found on the planet of Shanfall.
What the heck happened? Where am I?
Taking several calming breaths, I tried to remember where I had been before being shackled in this dark container. My eyes bulged as I remembered. I had taken Wyatt, my nephew, to his daily chemotherapy treatment that morning.
“Wyatt.”
“Wyatt are you in here?” My heart pounded in my chest as I scooted until I felt the metal bars at my back.
“Tamsin, is that you?”
I heard him shuffling near me. He was in the same cage with me. I’m not sure what was worse, being locked up like an animal or free on the streets of New York City at the age of six years old. Deep down I suspected, New York City was much better by a long shot compared to the position we found ourselves in.
Lowering my head, I was temporarily elated that he couldn’t see me fall apart.
Oh god, why me?
Small hands touched my face. “Are the red monsters going to hurt us?”
Ignoring his question, I decided to divert his attention. “Your hands and feet are not bound? Can you move?”
“Yes. The monsters didn’t seem worried about me, so they just threw me in here with you. I wasn’t brave. I didn’t try to run when they grabbed you first. I didn’t want to leave you,” he said.
I wish you had. You don’t need to be in danger. His cancer is volatile, and any changes usually cause great pain and suffering.
Thalia, my sister was one of the strongest people I know. When her husband Jace, died from a heart attack six months ago, I saw her light dim to barely a sparkle. If she lost Wyatt too it would destroy her.
“It’s alright. Did you see or hear anything else while I was out?” I gently leaned my head against the metal bars trying to resist the urge to cry.
“The monsters don’t speak English, but the human man that helped them said that you were beautiful and would fetch them a pretty penny as a slave. He said I could work off the debt and when I got older, I would be a good slave too.”
I choked back the bile that rose in my throat. These aliens intended to sell me into sexual slavery and make him work. His small body wouldn’t last a month doing hard labor.
This is my worst nightmare.
His sweaty hands tugged on my shirt. “Are they going to separate us. I don’t want to be taken away from you.”
I clenched my jaw. “I promise you Wyatt, I will never let that happen.”
I couldn’t detect anyone else in the area with us but that didn’t mean anything. These aliens might have the technology to listen to our conversation. We needed every advantage that we could get.
“Why don’t you lay your head in my lap and get some rest. It seems like we have a long journey ahead of us.”
His head laid in my lap, and it wasn’t long before his soft snores filtered through the quietness. Hearing him sleep was like a soothing balm to my restless heart. I wasn’t sure what lied ahead of us, but I wanted to protect him and give him peace as much as I could. Closing my eyes, I tried to get some sleep too.
Boom. We shifted from side to side. The loud banging noises sounded like something had hit the spaceship. Wyatt hadn’t woken up and I was glad. Biting my lip, I closed my eyes and ignored the possibility that we might be blown out of the sky. After several tense minutes, the spaceship righted itself and I sent silent prayers up to the heavens. I needed rest if I was going to outsmart these aliens and keep Wyatt safe. Forcing my eyes closed, I focused on my breathing and slowly drifted into a deep slumber.
We landed with a jerking motion that whipped my neck to the side. Opening my eyes, I felt Wyatt get up. Now there was light inside the container. I wished it hadn’t come on. Looking around there were at least a dozen containers filled with alien and human females. Our captors hadn’t put the human females in the same cages as the aliens which was good considering the lustful looks, they were shooting them.
There was a golden scaly muscular alien in a cage off to my right. He stared at me and it made me nervous. He didn’t look like anyone should’ve been able to capture him. His green eyes never left me, and I looked away. I didn’t know why he was so focused on me, but I didn’t like it.
“Wyatt don’t talk around them. Just stare at the floor and stay close to me. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
He nodded. “I don’t want to talk to them. They are scary looking.”
Plastering on a brave smile, I inhaled attempting to clear my head. The doors swung open to the containment unit and several huge aliens stormed inside. There were six huge red aliens with scaly skin and pointy fangs. The one with the long black hair stepped forward and pointed a laser blaster at us. He went over to the first cage which held a petite brunette female. Inside his right hand, he held a long platinum colored metal scepter that had a red ball at the end of it.
“What is your name female?” he asked.
Her blue eyes widened. “My name is Sara. Please return me to earth. I have a son named Percy. I am a single mother. My son and the community depend on me. I am the only doctor in the area. Please, I can pay you to return me.”
His eyes narrowed. “You are a doctor?”
She frantically nodded. “Yes, and my patients need me.”
His lips curved and he pointed his finger at her. “This one stays with us. She might be useful to our cause.”
Sara screamed. “No. My son. Please let me go. You can’t do this.”
He poked her with the metal scepter. A bolt of electricity shot from the end of it into her body and she convulsed. When the current ceased to flow through her, she slumped to the floor.
Wyatt’s arms tightened around me and he buried his faced into my side. I could feel his body trembling and the gush of his tears wetting my shirt. The other human women in the cages shrank away from the bars as he approached them.
Whatever happens, I can’t let them know that I’m a doctor too. These aliens were definitely up to something, and they needed more medical professionals to help them find it.
Wyatt dug his nails into my side. Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I forced myself to watch the present and glean anything that might help Wyatt and I to escape.
Then the alien pointed a finger at the busty blonde with dark hair and blue eyes. Her bone structure looked like she could be a model. She was beautiful in her burgundy scrubs. “What is your name and what do you do?”
Her body shook. “Darcy. I’m a nurse.”
Before the alien had spoken, she burst into tears. The aliens behind him grumbled and sighed as if they were disappointed.
He sighed. “Darcy know that even if you had been a doctor, you would remain here on White Elfall, with me. I will be keeping a close eye on you.”
Wiping her tears, she looked at him. “Who and what are you?”
“My name is Azars Aboto, and we are Gurguns. You, Darcy, belong to me.” He gave her a possessive look before moving on to the next human in a cage.
This went on until he had spoken to all the human females. At last, he approached my cage. He didn’t seem impressed by my looks and I didn’t know what to make of it. On Earth naturally long blonde hair was popular, but I guess mine didn’t do it for him. I wasn’t interested in him finding me attractive, but it threw me off since Darcy had blonde hair too. Maybe it was my light green eyes that he didn’t like. I hoped he didn’t notice that my eyes changed color.
“What is your name and what did you do?”
“My name is Tamsin and I’m a nanny who looks after the boy.” I jerked my head down, to where Wyatt was hiding his face from them.
“Azar, she can help the king. His two mistresses had their babies. You should keep her and gift her to him as a present for the birth of his twins,” he said.
Azar turned to look at the blue alien. “Cattin that’s smart. He’ll be so impressed that he will consider me for the promotion.”
He lifted his hand. “Ladies welcome to the planet of White Elfall.” Azar turned and walked out. The door swung out wider, and I glimpsed the two pink suns high in the sky. It looked hot outside, but I was terrified that we wouldn’t be able to breathe the air on this planet without using special gear.
“What are you going to do with the men?” asked Cattin.
“Sell them to the highest bidder of course.”

A week passed and depression settled deep inside me. Every attempt to escape had been foiled and my punishments had been inhumane. The planet’s atmosphere was similar to Earths. Humans could breathe without special equipment but that’s where the similarities ended. There were creatures roaming the planet that would make dinosaurs afraid to be outside. It wasn’t surprising that all of the things outside were capable of killing humans. I still didn’t know why the Gurguns needed to capture human medical professionals.
Besides the beatings, tortures, and extra unpleasant duties, was the soul crushing disappointment that Wyatt no longer held hope that we would escape. Like him, I longed to leave this place that had become our prison.
Rushing into his room, I sat down the mop and walked over to him. He was sitting in a chair at the table on the right. The room was massive, but it had bars on the window and the door opened from the outside. He was a prisoner just like me.
I hugged him tight. “How are you doing today?”
He sighed. “I’m never going home am I? I’m never going to see mom again.” His shoulders slumped and he burst into tears.
His arm brushed up against my sore back and I winced. Azar had ordered me caned last night for my latest escape attempt. The beating had rendered me unconscious, and my back had multiple welts on it. He hadn’t allowed anyone to use the healing wand on me, saying that I needed to deal with the pain for a while.
“We’ll find a way to escape but it’s just taking some time. I promise you I haven’t given up and neither should you.”
Wiping his runny nose, he pulled away from me. “Tasmin, if you keep trying to escape the next time they might kill you. You should give up and focus on staying alive. If they kill you, I am truly alone here.”
