“Ah, that. Well…” Mike sighed. “I thought you knew, Stella. I thought you remembered…” He shook his head slightly. “I’m a shifter and this is what happens when I’m angry, or in this case, extremely turned on.” I noticed the fangs in his smile. “I hope you don’t think less of me.” On the contrary. I never thought I’d feel this way, but I found the idea hot as hell—making love to something...inhuman... Curious to find the mysterious stranger that rescued her, Stella discovers that it was, in fact, her incredibly sexy next door neighbor. Mike, who reveals himself to be a werewolf, is dying to get her attention. As their flirtation sparks a strong bond, she feels the best way to show her gratitude is to invite him into her bed, but she’s not quite prepared for the beast that is unleashed…

As if this wasn’t the year from hell already, things just kept on getting worse...

Just like that he was gone.
What was I left with? A stepmother full of rage and heartache. She blamed me for everything, and promptly kicked me to the curb. I had no choice but to drop out of college, and take a job at the liquor store. Within months I’d moved from the comfort of our mansion to a rundown apartment in a dodgy part of town. The sounds of car alarms, gunshots and police sirens left me on edge. Even worse, the area was a well known stomping ground for werewolves, or shifters as they called them around these parts. I hadn’t seen one until recently. I’d come to learn that there were nice ones—like anyone, really—but it was hard to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were bigger and strong [...]
