Simplified Academic English

A new Academic Phrasebook

A Biancardi, PhD

To my dear family & friends.

Preamble

In this book, we report a long selection of examples. A short collection of examples has already been presented in my previous book tilted “Reports ans Essays by Examples. A Pocket guide for Academic Writing.”, which was focused on descriptive articles, review, essays, etc. In the present work we expand this previous work by including more than 200 additional examples.

In this book, we firstly report a selection of examples in the context of the commonly used a 3-parts Introduction-Discussion-Conclusion (IDC) structure for scientific/technical reports and essays, which is focused on summarizing a problem(s). In a final part of the book we add more translated examples. This book covers some the basic elements for writing academic articles, reports and essays from beginner to independent users, by providing an effective list of structures for paragraphs alongside with examples for sentences. This work is organized as follow: in Part I we report examples for introductory paragraph(s), in Part II we report examples for discussion paragraph(s), in Part III we report examples for discussing method(s), in Part IV we report examples for concluding the work, and finally in Part V we summarize a collection of examples.

Previous Editions of this book: «Academic Phrasebook, Frasario Accademico, Libro de Frases Académico» (ISBN: 9791222426051, TECH&SCIENCE Lib, 07/2023).
