To my dear family & friends.
In this book, we report a short selection of examples in the context of the commonly used a 3-parts IDC structure for scientific/technical reports and essays, which is focused on summarizing a problem(s), issue(s), topic(s), method(s) or approach(es). It is a 3-parts structure, i.e., Introduction(I), Discussion(II, III) and Conclusions(IV). In superscript, we report throughout the current book the number of Part(s), Section(s) or Subsection(s) where the corresponding topic is described.
The book is developed by using small units of contents, i.e., short lessons, by reporting brief selections of examples. I will refer to similar versions of paragraphs of increasing complexity by using Greek letters, i.e., α , β , etc.
The writing process is time-consuming and may be performed effectively by dividing the processes in many steps to be solved iteractively. The writer should be focused on summarizing and describing as well as in persuading the reader as result of a clear definition and discussion of the research question(s), arising form a gap in the field, usually related to problematic and/or debatable aspect(s).
“Reports and Essays by Examples” covers some the basic elements for writing reports and essays from beginner to independent users, by providing an effective list of structures for paragraphs alongside with examples for sentences. If you like Latex by Examples let me know via [email protected] (asap) and also for updates, discussions, suggestions and ideas. The author of the book received his PhD in theoretical (bio) chemistry and physics of quantum systems in 2012 and worked as a post-doctoral researcher in Europe and in America, publishing more than 20 research papers on international science journals.
The current book is organized as follow: in Part I we report examples for introductory paragraph(s), in Part II we report examples for discussion paragraph(s), in Part III we report examples for discussing method(s), in Part IV we report examples for concluding the work, and finally in Part V we summarize few useful tools, i.e.,
acknowledgments(15),
checklists(16),
tenses(17), and
examples of journals for undergraduates(18).
In this Part, we provide examples for introductory paragraphs.
