Chapter 1

Don't you go running off upstairs, Sheila's mother, Stella yelled from the kitchen as she made her way to the living room.

Sheila froze on her step as she did not expect her mother to be up so early in the morning as she is not a morning person. Mom, why are you up so early Sheila asked as she smiled sheepishly.

Where are you coming from young lady?, Stella asked ignoring Sheila's question and given her a stern look.

Mom, I was at the old warehouse, she said looking down at her shoes which was stained with mud. Stella gave her daughter a disapproving look.

Ever since Sheila was a child she always go to that same old warehouse, sometimes her parents will find her sleeping there and will always carry her home.

Okay, Stella said taking her eyes away from Sheila, "go freshen up and come down for breakfast ", she said as she made her way back to the kitchen.

Sheila smiled at her mother as she hurriedly climbed the stairs to her room.

What are you doing here? Jake said without opening his eyes because he knew his friend Raphael was there, because he could sense his presence.

Raphael always come to earth to check on Jake ever since he was banished. Well it's good to see you too, Raphael laughed at Jake unimpressed expression.

What do you want Raphael? Jake asked with a dry tone as he made his way to where Raphael was standing. I was thinking you will like to explore the earth with me before I go back to heaven and I know you need the company, Raphael said with a smile on his lips.

You know, you don't have to come here everytime, Jake said looking a little sad, but he quickly brushed the sad look off, he did not want Raphael to see him like that.

But Raphael knew him very well he was already caught the sad look on his face before he brushed it off.

Anyway, I’m here let's make use of the time Raphael said as he flashed his magnificent wings, Jake did the same and was really thankful he has a wonderful friend, together they sour higher in the sky.

Chapter 2

Sheila has been in her room all day, she did not feel like going out, she heard a knock on her door which brought her out of her thought.

Honey, are you alright? Stella asked as she look around the room until her eyes landed on her daughter who was standing by the window.

Yes mom, Sheila said with a smile on her lips as she turned to face her mother who was standing by the doorway.

Would you like to come with me to the supermarket to get some groceries, Stella said as she flashed her daughter a bright smile.

Alright mom, I will be down in a minute she said as she made her way to her closet so she could get changed, she watched her mother leaving, as her foot step start to fade, she signed as she picked her outfit.

Raphael and Jake have been in the sky for a while and they both landed on the ground a little far from the street to avoid humans sporting them.

Raphael and Jake gave each other an odd look because they could sense a demon nearby.

Suddenly, a demon made an appearance.

Oh, hello there! the demon beamed at them

What are you doing here? Jake asked unfazed by the demon’s presence.

You have no right to ask me any question, besides you are not better than me,

"You banished Angel"

You were sent here because of the crime you committed against heaven, the demon said as he gave Jake a smug look.

Jake was already getting angry, he hates it when people rub it on his face, a crime he knew very well he did not commit.

Get off my way! The demon spat as he pushed Jake who stumbled back a little, before Raphael could intervene Jake punched the demon which sent him flying and hitting the ground hard.

The demon yelped in pain as he stood up. "Is this the best you could do" the demon asked.

No wonder you are not even worthy of a "soulmate". The demon flashed him a wicked smile before he vanished into thin air.

Sheila and her mother were done shopping and were heading home but Sheila stopped walking as she caught a glimpse of something strange and kept staring intensively at the place until her mother noticed she as stopped walking.

Honey are you alright? Her mother asked with concern in her voice she knows her daughter has not really be herself that's why she decided they should go out.

Stella's voice pulls her out of her intense stare. Sorry mom, I thought I saw something she said still looking at the place. Its alright honey, let's go home

Okay mom, Sheila said as she brushed the off the weird feeling as she they head home.

When they got home Sheila went straight to her bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed wondering why she feels so weird.

As if she was hurt, she places her hand on her chest as she massage it a little before her mother knock came through.

Are you alright my dear? She asked as she sat on the bed.

Yes mom, am just feeling tired I will just rest a little bit and I will be fine when I wake up, she said as she gave her mother a smile and settled under the cover .

Alright honey call me if you need anything, Stella said as she made her way out of the room.

Will do mom, Sheila said softly as she kept her hand on her chest as she drift off.

Chapter 3

Raphael were are you going, Samuel asked as he made his way to Raphael.

Hmm, I just want to visit earth and check on Jake, he seems really upset yesterday, after our encounter with a demon, Raphael said remembering the looks on Jake face even when he tried to hide it.

Okay be careful, you don't want the elder Angels to suspect anything, you know if they know you are associating with Jake, you and I know what will happen, Samuel said with concern for his friend.

Yes I know, I will be very careful, I will be brief on earth and come back before the Parade of Angels starts, with that he left and flew to earth.

Jake stared outside the window of his apartment, he still could not get the thought of not having a soulmate out of his mind he could still remember what the demon said to him

"you are not even worthy of a soulmate". It kept ringing in his head, suddenly, Raphael landed in front of him.

Jake are you alright? Raphael asked as he place a hand on his shoulder,

Jake of course ignored his question and continue to stare outside the window.

I know you are thinking about what that demon said yesterday, you know that is not true, you will definitely find your soulmate.

You don't know that Ralph, no Angel will want to be with me, even when they find out am their soulmate he said as he turn to face Raphael.

Don't say...... Raphael words was interrupted by Jake saying....,

Stop telling me things you want me to believe Jake yelled at Raphael, its the first time he has ever raised his voice at him but he was too angry to care.

"Stop giving me false hope" he shouted

I might be your friend Jake but am so much older you, I practically raised you in heaven, am like a father to you, Raphael said getting irritated by Jake's word.

"But you are not my father", Jake said, his word cut deeply into Raphael, who showed a hint of sadness before he brushed it off.

Take my words for real Jake,

"You will find her" with that he flashed his wings and flew back to heaven.

Sheila watched closely to see if there is anybody in sight, has she made her way downstairs to the front door, she carefully opened the door and went outside.

She strap her bag and put on her earphone as she made her way to the old warehouse.

When she was almost at the old warehouse she noticed something strange, as if somebody was on her trail.

Hello.., she called out, sounding scared, she did not get any response as she brushed it off and continue walking.

But suddenly,

She was attacked and pin to the ground by some horrible creature, she shout her lungs out but they quickly shut her up as they vanished into to air.

Chapter 4

Sheila woke up feeling light headed, her vision was blur but she could hear some whispers.

"Is she the one, is this the special human?"

She was so confused that she could not really understand what was going on, she slowly opened her eyes and readjust her eyes to the brightness of the place.

Who are you and what do you want from me? Sheila spoke a little bold, she did not want to give them the impression that she was scared even though she was shaking from the inside.

Oh, the little human speaks, one of the demon said and laughed as he moved closer to her, she subconsciously move back until she hit her back against the wall.

If you must know little one, I’m what you call a demon

What! Sheila said in suprise, she could not believe what she heard, you are a de-Mon she stuttered, she was now freaking out, various thought went through her mind.

Is this a prank or something? She managed to speak after a minute of composure .

Do we look look like we are joking, we will soon find out how funny this joke is, they all laughed darkly as they made their way out of the room leaving Sheila all alone.

Sheila moved closer to the wall and brought her knees up to her chest and sob quietly.

Jake was pacing around he did not know why he feels so restless, but he knew something was not right, his mind drifted to Raphael and he thought about how he lost control with his words, he felt so guiltly.

He sat down and linked his fingers together, he was trying to concentrate but he could not bring himself to, he feels someone is in trouble.

Why do I feel this way, Jake muttered, he hates it when he does not have the answer to something.

"Could it be heaven has heard my plea, and given me the assignment to be someone's guardian Angel"

So many thought bombarded his mind, he was so confused and wished Raphael was there with him . In the midst of his confusion he flapped his wings and let it lead him.

Sheila still sob quietly, no demon has made an appearance which she was grateful for, she knows she could not face anyone right now.

SUDDENLY, she heard a loud sound, and she straighten up and saw a man in a very bright clothes with wings she gasped and he suddenly turned to look at her.

This must be a nightmare she said in a low tone, she started to feel light headed, she was so confused and could not take it any longer and she fell unconscious.

Jake could not move from where he was, he watched the human with wide eyes and suddenly the realization hit him

"She is his soulmate".

Chapter 5

Jake soon realizes himself when he senses a demon nearby, he was confused to why a human was in a room full of demon, he could not really think because the demons barged into the room and they came to a stop when they saw the Angel.

Demons are very vary about Angels, they take caution whenever there is an Angel around, but they refuse to show their fear of the Angel.

To what do we owe this visit one of the demon asked as he crossed his hand tightly around his chest.

Jake subconsciously moved closer to Sheila, he knows demons are not to be trusted, they are very cunning creatures, he took a stand to fight in case the needs arises which is likely to be soon.

What do you want with the human? Jake asked confidently giving them a stern look.

“Is this an interrogation session” one of the demons asked, which made the others to laugh.

I don't care what you think this is or what you want with the human but am going to take her and none of you can stop me Jake said sternly.

And you think we are just going to let you take her, you and I know that won't happen, the demons started moving closer to the Angel ready to pounce on him.

One of the demon braved up and lunged towards the Angel, but the Angel was fast enough to sweep the demon off his feet.

With that move the Angel made more demons lunged forward but the Angel was strong enough to take them down, but the demons were getting too much and he was not sure he could hold them off any longer, he quickly flashed his wings which made the demons to close their eyes, with that moment of distraction he quickly picked up Sheila and vanished.

Jake just stared at Sheila who was still unconscious he still could not believe he has a soulmate who is also a human, he was confused because he knows no Angel has ever connected a bond with a human.

"So why me" he muttered to himself, he looked at Sheila again, "what's so special about this human he had so many unanswered questions going through his mind, he wish Raphael was there with him at least he would have some answers for some if his questions.

He really wanted to contact Raphael, but he was still feeling guilty about what he said to him he signed and shook his head, from the corner of his eyes he saw Sheila stir she was beginning to regain consciousness.

Jake quickly straighten up and move backward a little to avoid startling her.

Sheila slowly opened her eyes and her eyes landed on the Angel, she quickly moved backward and the memory of what happened to her flooded her mind, she looked up at the Angel.

You have wings she said scanning the Angel for his wings which was no longer in sight.

Yes I do Jake answered quietly.

Does that means you are hmm ...an Angel she said the last part quietly but the Angel heard her perfectly.

Yes I am, Jake said keeping his voice soft, he could not believe he was talking to his soulmate he was very excited in the inside but he was trying his best to contain his happiness the last thing he wants to do is to overwhelm her.

I can't believe am talking to an Angel, Sheila said this can't be happening, all this must be a dream she remembered the demons and she started to scan the area for one.

Jake noticed, its okay you are safe here.

Where the demons real too she said, yes they are Jake answered quietly he could see her breathing was no longer settled she was having a panic attack.

Try to slow down your breathing, Jake said trying to calm her down but Sheila could not listen to his voice even though she likes the sound of the voice her head felt heavy and she fell unconscious again.
