Chapter 1: The Raid

 Subject 409203 was my ‘’name’’ that was given to me at the lab. This place was full of teenagers being experimented on. I have been here the longest 10 years to be exact. If the experiments don’t work on you they take you into a car and no one knows where those people end up. But for those that worked like me got sold to the highest bidder, but I was different the experiments changed me so I never got sold since I was valuable to them. Went from blonde hair, very shy, and normal looking but when the scientists created the ‘’perfect’’ serum it changed not only my appearance but also my genetics. This serum turned me to mostly animal like they wanted to use me as a weapon. I now had changed completely black hair, purple eyes; I even grew new parts like ears and tail of a wolf and horns of a bull. Now a question I get a lot from the newbies is ‘’Why don’t you run off you can easily over power them?’’ It’s the same answer every time ‘’ I don’t have anything left outside of the lab.’’ All I can do is listen to the scientists to stay alive, survival of the fittest. The cops haven’t found this place yet; the lab is run by a very dangerous, wealthy man named Henry Lynch. He worked 20 years until him and the others where finally able to change genetics without the cops knowing. The government just thinks it’s a bunch if random kidnappings so they are still looking for some of the missing kids. 5 people work at the lab and only 3 other experiments not including me are in the lab. So far they haven’t taken anyone else since the 4 of us turned into hybrids.

The workers usually let us walk around but never outside to make sure we don’t leave. But one day detectives came by and they forced the workers to search the place which meant we had to hide. The workers had to stay outside which made them very nervous. In the middle of their search they got to close to one of the other hybrids so I ran ramming one of them into the walls with my horns. The other detective looked terrified at me pointing his weapon while helping his partner up. I surrendered so they wouldn’t find the others. I got scared being dragged outside since we have stayed in for so long. The workers where not happy but only 1 of them took responsibility, so they put us in the same cop car on the way to the police station. The injured cop couldn’t drive so he was the passenger; he kept looking over his shoulder scared at the sight of me. All eyes were on us when they walked us to separate rooms. I got the cop that hit the wall which he was not happy with me.

‘’Hello I am Officer Derek with the police department, and I have to say you have some strength on you young lady.’’

I let out a growl showing him my fangs ‘’Do not call me young lady’’

Derek got more scared seeing my ears pinned back from anger.

‘’What is your name?’’ he asked sitting down.

‘’409203’’

‘’No your name’’ he replied confused.

‘’That is my name’’ I said looking at him confused.

I could hear them talking about the scientist in the hall which I stood up but Derek grabbed my arm.

‘’Let go of me!’’ I yelled staring at him.

‘’Why do you want to go so badly?’’

‘’I need to get back home!’’ I yelled yanking my arm away.

Sitting back in the chair refusing to say anything else as he kept trying to get me to talk. He was walking me back to my cell when I started to swing my head barely missing Derek with my horns making him let go. Officers cornered me against a wall slowly walking towards me, I break the cuffs as I stand ears pinned and tail tucked ready for anything. I jump over 1 of the officers, and instead of running out the doors, I ran to where they kept Kai the scientist in the cell. I start pulling on the bars as people try to pull me away. I start fighting back but Derek told them too stand down.

‘’409203 calm down its ok’’ Kai said sitting in the cell.

As the cops pulled me into another cell with handcuffs, Derek stayed behind to talk to Kai.

‘’Why don’t you give her a real name instead of numbers?’’

‘’1 word, lawyer’’ Kai said looking away from the detective.

Derek came back to my cell sitting by me which was a huge risk for him.

‘’Look we can’t just call you a bunch of numbers, can we get a blood sample?’’

‘’I don’t care only if it makes me get out faster’’

Derek drew some blood; he looked concerned when the syringe was full of purple blood. He came back he was kind of angered by what they had done to me. He held the paper up to me, ‘’so this is real huh, did Kai do this?’’ he asked looking at me up and down. I looked away not saying anything.

‘’Well at least we got a name’’

‘’I don’t care’’ I said looking at the wall.

‘’ Is that so Blake’’

My ears perked up at the sound of my name not hearing it in years.

‘’Blake we need to know where the other missing kids are, did they do the same with the others?’’ he asked putting his hand on my shoulder.

‘’Why would I tell you?’’ I said scooting over so his hand would come off my shoulder.

‘’You might want these back’’ as I hand him back the cuffs I escaped, smirking.

‘’I will be back later to talk’’ Derek said as he chuckled shaking his head leaving the cell. Derek looked at my paperwork getting mad seeing that I was 17. It wasn’t long before he came back after being at the computer.

‘’Where is your family?’’

‘’At the place you took me from.’’ I said looking at the floor. ‘’ I have done nothing wrong but protect my family.’’

‘’I understand but we are just trying to help you’’

‘’Does it look like I want your help?’’ I asked sarcastically.

He was trying to explain to me that my parents thought I had died but I wasn’t willing to listen since Henry told me they didn’t bother to look for me. He saw me to start wearing down being tired from all of his questions so he told me what he would do for me.

‘’How about this I will take you back to your real family if you just tell me yes or no if there are more.’’

I agreed answering his question. He told me to follow as he put me in the back of his car driving me to my home. When we got to the house my family was terrified by what they had done they told Derek to take me away and that they couldn’t handle what I have become. I wasn’t shocked but Derek felt bad so he took me to this yellow house in a big neighborhood.

‘’Where are we?’’ I asked looking out the window.

‘’My house, since your family didn’t want to take you, you will stay with me until we figure something out.’’ He said holding the door open for me to his house.

‘’I just want to sleep if that’s ok’’ I said lying in the middle of the floor by the fireplace.

‘’Why don’t you lie down in the guest bedroom?’’ he asked watching me stare at the fire.

He showed me to the extra room it was a nice blue wall with a white ceiling and brown carpet. As soon as I laid down and covered up with the blanket I fell fast asleep before he could close the door. He turned off the lights and shut the door; he spent most of the night downstairs on the couch making sure I was safe. Once in a while he would peek his head in to check up on me. My horns scratched up the head rest just a bit the more I turned. I woke up looking at the clock saying 3 am so I got up and went downstairs to grab some food. He was asleep so I helped myself to the kitchen. He woke up hearing a noise; he came running into the kitchen with his gun out. He put it down when he saw it was me with a steak in my hand trying to open the package.
