To my friends, who spared their invaluable time to review and comment on my style of writing. And specially Aakansha and Aarman being candid about their relationship while sharing it with me. Hope I did justice to their story. BookRix GmbH & Co. KG 80331 Munich

His flight was scheduled at 10:30 hours from Birsa Munda Airport. He took a cab from outside the railway station for Birsa Munda Ranchi Airport at around 9 a.m. It barely took 15 minutes to reach the airport parking area. The airport was redesigned and was expanded further with all necessary infrastructures. He entered the airport premises and went to Indigo counter to get his boarding pass. After getting boarding pass, he saw his watch and noticed he had another one and a half hours before the flight boarded. He did not wish to carry his baggage anymore so he handed over the same at the counter before his boarding pass was printed.
He did not have breakfast as he hated an idea of having too early in the morning. He took breakfast only around 11 a.m. in the morning and that to a very light breakfast with fruits and salads. Since there was a plenty of time before check-in started, he preferred having breakfast at the cafeteria on the 1st floor. He took stairs for the cafeteria on the first floor as the lift was down under maintenance. Recently, Ranchi Airport or "Birsa Munda Airport" as officially it was called, was modernised with extra constructions of hangers and runways with the upgrading of the amenities and security. But lift not working did not go well with Aarman. He, in fact, lodged his displeasure over it at the feedback form at the customer care counter.
The Cafeteria was nicely designed and was neat and clean. The flower decoration and chic furniture inside the cafeteria mesmerised him. He ordered Garlic Bread, Chicken Sausage and Green Salad preparation with sour curd. The waiter told it would take at least 15 minutes before his breakfast arrived.
"Okay. Before you bring my breakfast, could you bring one black coffee immediately?" He asked the waiter. "Sir, definitely I can. Just wait for two minutes" the waiter replied.
He took out his laptop from his laptop case, which he was carrying along with him. He checked a few e-mails and replied to a couple of clients regarding the extension of the job being carried out by them.
In the meantime, his coffee was served. Sipping coffee he looked around. After modernisation, the airport looked at par with other airports from other big cities. Coffee was good and was satisfying. His breakfast was plated on the table. He had his breakfast quickly. He liked the salad very much. He himself named it "Ranchi Ranch" to distinguish it with the place where he had it.
He heard announcements regarding check-in for the flight he had to fly in. He rushed downstairs and took the second left turn to the check-in and security clearance area. The gates from where he had to board the flight was at the far north side. After formalities, he finally got into the plane and took his 27B seat. Aarman checked his watch, it was 10:15 hours and it was right on its schedule. This Indigo flight did not land directly to Pune. He had to fly via Delhi, rather he had to change flight at Delhi to connecting flight. Between landing and connecting flight, there was a big gap of two hours.
CHAPTER # 2 Flying High
Sitting in the flight, Aarman woke up on hearing flight attendant's pretty voice. Sir, would you take coffee or tea? He said in a husky voice "Well a black coffee will do!". In the meantime, he noticed from his window seat outside. From the window of the plane, the wing engine is semi-illuminated, the lower half shining around the rim, the upper half several shades darker. As the plane dips the line between shadow and light moves, and all the while Aarman listens to the hum of the rotors. Announcements by cabin crew reminded that flight was about to land in another 25 minutes. The sky was clear but still he experienced a little bumpy ride. After few minutes, a pretty attendant appeared from behind. This time, Aarman noticed her dark red lipstick with glitters. Her lipstick perfectly matched her outfit. Aarman took coffee in his hand and felt numbness of flight attendant's fingers. Her fingers might have become numb in such high altitude and chilling weather, he thought. Sipping his coffee, Aarman looked out - the blue sky was shrouded with white cotton-like clouds. What a beautiful scenery, he thought. He recalled the beautiful poetic lines he read at a book stand at the Ranchi airport. The lines were very soothing, which read like this –
